As compared to conventional business phone systems, they enable contact centres to deploy smaller remote teams with potentially higher productivity, greater flexibility, enhanced security, easier cross-department collaboration, and lower costs. Call centre tracking software comes with a long list of features. This includes call logging, recording, and automatic call distribution to ensure that an appropriate operator is assigned to each call. It also comes with interactive voice recognition (IVR) for greetings, queuing, and customer data input. Another feature is queue management which can help manage pending calls. Though conventionally thought of as a type of Business Phone System or Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Software, call centre software are evolving and extending to channels like email, instant messaging, live chat, SMS text, and social media. Over the years, the line that separated it from Contact Centre Software and Customer Service Software has become blurred.
