Pros
We have used Escapia for years and have seen a lot of changes along the way. The software is easy to use and train new employees on.
Cons
Over the years we have found the the customer service to be challenging and the software does not handle long term rentals easily.

Pros
Tries very hard to be an all in one solution, direct integration with HomeAway/VRBO, good customer support, the team is clearly working hard on improvements but it's a bit like trying to push a dinosaur up a hill.
Cons
Very disjointed, I often refer to it as frankenstein because it feels like all the modules were poorly connected together. Does not have an open API so integration with other systems is limited. Overall the software is very old and outdated and while improvements are on the horizon, they are coming slowly and in the meanwhile my patience is running out.

Overall, it has been a reliable solution that meets our needs. The software generally works well and provides most of the functionality we require. When it’s running smoothly, it’s a great tool.
Cons
Like any platform, it’s not without its challenges. We’ve encountered occasional bugs and performance hiccups, and sometimes support response times could be improved. However, the team seems committed to making improvements.

I think it’s a fantastic program that allows us to make sure we have all the info about our guests in one place. I would love to see an update to the forms so it feels more up to date.
Pros
I love the ability to manage communications through text or email. The integrations with Airbnb and bro are very well done. Also, it’s very reliable and hardly ever down.
Cons
The overall feel of the software feels dated. It feels like using software from the 90s.
I also do not like that ‘add note’ function doesn’t always work. My teammates and I rely on the notes when dealing with problem guests and we need all the information to be saved correctly the first time without having to go to the communications tab.
I don’t like how long it takes to find a particular guest in the communications tab. It feels like you have to wait 10 seconds or so just to see no results.

Pros
Integrates well with VRBO/HomeAway for managing a large number of properties.
Cons
Shockingly badly set up, doesn't work with AirBnB, crashes constantly, slows to a molasses pace after lunchtime each day. Instead of assigning nightly rates and minimum stays to a home, you assign homes to scores of rules that define its bookability. It's easy to make mistakes and impossible to catch them until it's too late.

Cons
Partner reservations do not get put onto the Overdue Payments list. No guest reminder unless you use the Escapia contracts. Those will send daily reminders.

I am overall very pleased with Escapia. Having used multiple platforms over my career in the vacation rental management industry, Escapia has been the easiest to navigate and the most user friendly. We always receive speedy follow up to any issues that might arise or for any questions we might have, and I have always felt supported. And, I greatly value and appreciate Escapia's desire to continually improve on and add to their offerings. 10 out of 10!
Pros
Setup/Distribution was easier than anticipated. Our reps took great care in getting us up to speed on integrating and using the software. The software is easy to navigate and the Self-Help articles have been incredibly useful in re-learning or resolving any issues without having to reach out to Support.
Cons
This isn't necessarily a "Con", but in Escapia's efforts to update/upgrade and offer new user functions, we were momentarily "down" often, which I attribute to upgrades being made to the system. Once these were completed however, we did not have any issues.
Reasons for Switching to Escapia
Mainly because at the time of purchase we were soley advertising on VRBO and Escapia was an easy transition. The ease of use/setup compared to alternative products we were reviewing made Escapia a no-brainer.- Industry: Real Estate

With Escapia, I can focus on delivering exceptional experiences to my guests, knowing that my property management needs are in capable hands. Customer service. I give them five-stars all day long. Super helpful, supportive and go above and beyond to help solve any issue you may have. User friendly, easy to navigate.
Cons
The only con I would like to mention is the amount of time it takes for new units to pull and go live.

We used Escapia for more than 8 years but we had to always rely on third party solutions to connect with Airbnb, Inntopia and even our own website, so we decided to move away to a more modern and friendly solution.
Bit don’t get me wrong, Escapia even though dated is extremely well designed and work very well.
Pros
The accounting, housekeeping and work order modules are incredibly well designed.
Cons
The pricing module is not friendly and cumbersome.
Doesn’t have a direct connection with Airbnb and doesn’t have a built in website solution

Escapia has evolved over the years, so much so, that I believe we stuck with the right software and appreciate how modules have been updated and improved. Still more to go in my opinion but it is making my job easier as time goes by. Thank you.

Cons
Inflexible in certain areas. We have had to make accommodations to the software in order to satisfy our business model: (i.e. when it comes to managing 30 day rentals, the calendars and rates need to be closely monitored; we pay our internal reservations a commission based on rent revenue and had to devise a way to track this over and above 3rd party agent commissions; we have policies that differ by property and some functionality must be universal for all properties.

Faithful & Happy Escapia user for over 10 years

Pros
The software is great and easy to use. We are happy to have grown our vacation rental company with Escapia for the last 10+ years. The support team is super helpful and our account manager has always been a huge help and an avid cheerleader of ours and our business. The updates over the years have been proactive and worthwhile to their and our own growth. It is easy to distribute properties to Vrbo & AirBnB. We would not think of switching companies for our PMS
Cons
Knowing and learning all the moving parts and the back end of the software system can be a bit challenging and daunting but when you first learn it, but it's easy to manage once support is able to walk you through it.

Overall, Escapia has been a very good platform for us. There are way more features available than we will ever use.
Pros
Escapia is a complete and thorough vacation rental management software that covers almost all software needs related to the vacation rental industry.
Cons
Escapia is not very user friendly and is not easy to learn. Also, when we onboarded with Escapia years ago, the training was at best incomplete. We didn't find that out until years later at Rezfest in a one on one session with accounting. Escapia then wanted over $3,000 to help fix the issues that we were not trained properly on in the beginning. Over the years, we have trained ourselves on how to fix those issues and how to use the modules we need.
Also, when Escapia has issues or glitches in the system then do not notify anyone of the issues. Escapia waits until we have an issue and then admits there is a glitch they are working on. I just wish that we would be notified when there are issues, so we don't spend hours trying to figure things out before calling support.

A powerful tool for the complete needs of a vacation rental management company, from providing guest quotes, customizing guest arrival experience, to managing accounts.
Pros
The accounting side of this software is strong and a knowledgeable user has powerful tools. Owner statements are transparent and clearly structured. Correspondence is attractive and easy to customize. The various tools available for setting rates/manipulating rates are easy to use. The reservation grid is easy to understand, and the filters and quotes make the reservationists' work easier and more consistent. Integration with Glad Hospitality helps provide a good guest experience without much effort (once the initial setup is complete). The reports are informative and useful. Bank reconciliation tool is an absolute essential. Having used Escapia and other VRM software while working for other companies, when I started my own company, I knew the only software I wanted to use was Escapia.
Cons
Features for automated or scheduled correspondence are weak. There is no "notes" area associated with owners for keeping a record of requests, authorizations, etc. Because it is a powerful system, to develop the skills necessary to fully take advantage of its many useful features means you need to invest some time and effort. That is not really a "con" to me. If you have a good tool, you want to learn to take full advantage of it. However, for a new user, it could seem a little scary. But we found that it's not terribly difficult to learn what you need to learn in order to successfully take advantage of the system as a basic user, and that if you want to stop there, you can and you'll still have a good system. It's worth putting in the work, though, to become a skilled user to take advantage of the full capabilities of the system.

I have used Escapia with 3 different companies. It has come a long way as far as development. Setting up rates is actually doable now before it was virtually impossible
Pros
User friendly, easy to keep track of accounting and reservations. Has come a long way in the last 10 years
Cons
Customer service is not that helpful. We have been trying to set up our software to where it is live and not have to manually input everything from VRBO but Escapia staff has been little help because we only manage about 15 vacation rental properties at the moment. Escapia customer service should give the same attention to smaller businesses as they do the ones with more VR inventory
