We are a growing ancillary General Agent who was in need of a more robust database and tracking system. We were previously using Microsoft Access to track our agents quotes and service issues but that limited us to one user and was not cloud-based. We added another employee and it is imperative that all members of the team can see the activities and notes from the different groups we manage. Agency Bloc fits this bill.

Agency Bloc helps us manage our entire current block of business as well as all our new quoting activity and customer service issues. If one person goes out, the next can easily pick up on open items or issues. The system will even allow us to pay commissions if we pay the upgrade.

As we quoted out ideas for an agency management system, we talked to a variety of vendors. Agency Bloc was the most reasonably priced.

I recommend fully Agency Bloc to the agents I work with. It is an affordable professional solution for benefit agents.

Pros

The report system is easy to use and everyone in our office is able to run their own reports. The individual detail pages is easy to use and very organized so it is easy to find information fast.

Cons

The email marketing is extremely lacking. There is no spellcheck, the features are limited, and you cannot send test emails. You are unable to change setting for workflows once someone has gone through, so you have to inactivate the workflow and start over anytime you want to make a change. You cannot removed certain fields on pages that are unnecessary to your company.

It has been overall a good experience. I think they are a little on the expensive side for what they are. They aren't too much more than a large filing system. We could probably get the same use from Google for a whole lot less.

Pros

The system has most of the data that you need frequently available on the first page. It has quick access to policy numbers and contracts if you save it on there.

Cons

It is a little obnoxious that it is web based. It takes more than just saving a contract or a guide to a folder. I wish they had a desktop version of this so we could save quickly.

I'm a single owner/broker. I became an AgencyBloc customer before I had a single client or a single lead to enter into the database. I knew my business would grow and that I needed to get started properly. Yes, I could have built an Excel spreadsheet, but did I want to track and develop business on the back of my Excel skills? AgencyBloc allowed me to get off the ground quickly so I could focus on my business instead of sorting through or building a CRMish database.

Pros

I realize this sounds like I'm speaking in reverse, but this is only fully realized after utilizing AgencyBloc. AgencyBloc's customer support team is OUTSTANDING. I ask a lot of questions and am always trying to stretch what can be done. The Support team is very knowledgeable, professional, and personable. They understand the concept of what I'm trying to accomplish vs how I sometimes communicate what I'm trying to get done. A solid, built-for-insurance CRM coupled with great support is vital to my business. I didn't need to build from the ground up what I wanted to track. With only a few customizations that I was able to do myself, I was up and running quickly. Even though I'm a small business, I depend on AB, it's the first platform I open each morning.

Cons

My least favorite function is Email Marketing. I say the least favorite with a caveat....I have been using AB's Email Marketing as part of my ongoing marketing for the past 18 months and will continue to do so. It's a bit clunky. Once you understand how it works, it works well. Email marketing is very important to me and I'll continue to use it.

Overall, our experience is great with AgencyBloc. We are so happy that we are able to utilize this program for what we really need to use it for. Primarily we like to use this program for tracking commissions.

Pros

We really utilize the commission module almost on a daily basis. We like that we are able to make sure that we are compensated for all of our policies. I enjoy being able to run the commission report every month to see which policies we didn't have a payment on. I like the feature of activities on the individual lead page. I use that page to upload a lot of our agents leads on there. It is really nice that as the Admin we are able to look into our agent's business, not to be nosey or intruding, but to reach out to them to see if they need help reaching out to contact leads. We want all of our agents to succeed so being able to have one centralized location of seeing their activity has been a great help. We have 4 new agents using this program. I feel that they generally like the system as well since we see them using it. I enjoyed having someone that we could reach out to personally and would take the time out of their day to help me with any questions, [sensitive content hidden] was a great onboarding instructor. If we couldn't figure out a solution she would find the answer and get back with me.

Cons

I personally feel that there are a few things that could be adjusted better to help us as an agency. One feature that I find slightly annoyed with is that the information doesn't automatically save, that we have to hit save for all the pages. I don't really like the feature where we have a husband and wife both have separate policies and accounts, so I don't want to merge the contact, so I wish I could dismiss that comment on the page and it not ask me that again. Also, my husband is the insurance agent and I am on the administrative side of the company, so it's unfortunate that we can't both be logged into AgencyBloc at the same time under 1 log in. We would have to pay for another user account and we just feel like that expense isn't necessary. I would like the custom fields for the note section to be bigger, sometimes we have so many notes on a client that scrolling through the note field can be tedious.

Pros

The product is easy to understand and use. The support team is wonderful and are always there to answer questions and help you understand how to use the product. A lot of nice features and the integration with our Intulse system has been very handy and easier to keep on top of missed calls.

Cons

Trying to learn how to create Workflows had a bit of a learning curve. Not being able to attach links to Workflows is a bit of a bummer. I love the Workflow feature, but they need to be kept to fairly simple text. Thank goodness the AB support team was always there to help and answer our many questions! Integrating the Intulse was a bit confusing to figure out at first.

I specifically work more in the backend part of our business. I have no idea how well I'm utilizing what functions I know about and if I could be more effective within the system. I have attended many training sessions. Have there been advanced sessions for users who have been using the system for a while. I don't know what I don't know.

Pros

Our company benefits most from these functionalities within the AB system:All aspects of the client management components - Custom Fields have served us wellReporting - both preset reports and the custom reports are important to our businessCommissions - entry and reporting are critical to us managing distribution accuracy

Cons

We would benefit from the ability to add live links in the system that allow our agents to go to other online entities, specifically new client portals that send important documents client should have prior to their appt. The addition of live link availability would be a time saver for agents and administrators. I have also requested that some changes in the Commissions Not Received Report would be helpful in following up and resolving those issues

Able to keep all information on groups and brokers in one area with ease to find said information without using multiple programs. We have implemented the notes section to download documents we all need access to.

When adding contact information for some of the tabs it can be a bit redundant. Search bar at the top doesn't apply within the category.

I can not say enough praise for the AgencyBloc support team. I have had extensive conversations and had them walk me through how to create work flows, sales pipelines, and reporting. Everyone I have worked with is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and so very helpful.

Pros

The commission upload feature is one of my favorite parts of this program. I had spent two years manually calculating for our office. When I called and spoke to the customer service team, they walked me through how to set it up and how to use it and it has saved me a tremendous amount of time. The newest update that allows for keeping statement dates of the reports within the agent report dates was another bonus.

Cons

The way that the imports works with the existing policies to match them up can be frustrating at times and I would like to see the option (at some point) to be able to do edits on the policy or be able to control the override of information from the import so eliminate the need to go back in and change information back on the policy detail page.

We have been very satisfied with Abloc. Even with work arounds it has very much helped us streamline our daily work flows. And now that the Sales Pipeline is available, we are better able to track our leads even better than we had hoped for.

Pros

We had been looking for a better way to keep track of any and all actions that had occurred on a client's policy. Abloc gave us the ability to track all activities and have an easy way to find the history for any action taken over time.

Cons

Tracking leads was a huge issue for us. We felt hindered on being able to track a lead from first contact to issued policy in a way that worked for us.

Being web based, it is easy for our company with several remote offices to all use the same data base. It also makes it easy to access information off site as our agents meet with people outside the office on occasion.

Pros

It's fairly strait-forward to use. The way everything is labeled, after a small amount of training we are able to keep multiple users consistent with data entry. This enables more accurate reporting, which in turn helps with other aspects of running our company such as marketing.

Cons

Duplication of information - Policy detail and coverages share several of the same data points.
I question a bit of the accuracy of reports. Recently I pulled up all active clients and updated missing information. Shortly after that a coworker was pulling up several accounts that had missing information. I have also had a couple of coworkers tell me some attached information had disappeared. This has not happened to me, so I have not been able to determine if it was operator error or the program.

I have been searching for a superior method to monitor all activities that had happened on a customer's approach. Agencybloc enabled me to follow all exercises and have a simple method to discover the set of experiences.

Everything has a spot. Personal info is where you need it to be. Very functional.

Cons

Lately it keeps pausing when you click on a tab. It'll take forever to load. We have our IT guys check our service multiple times and everything was okay. AgencyBloc pauses at the worst times. There's instances where I'll have to click out and log back in for it to load properly.

Our company started with a primarily paper based system and went to AgencyBloc specifically as a database to keep all of our client and clients employee information.

We quickly realized that AgencyBloc was a powerful tool and saves us the time. We frequently need reports on our groups and employees to create quotes. The reports are easy to pull off of the Website and we rely heavily on them. The nice thing is they are always up to date and accurate which we didn't have with the excel documents we created without AgencyBloc. We used to have to input all of the information ourselves, now we just pull it from AB. It does mean that you have to be vigilant about making sure the information is current in AgencyBloc but once you get a system set up it is a huge time saver. Our customers are impressed with how fast we get information to them!

The activity section has also proved to be really helpful. We are a small business and each of us work from home so communication within our company is vital. Activities allow us to document all of our interactions with clients and carriers, then each of us can view the activity for information. Therefore, we are never "in the dark" when communicating with customers or carriers...there are detailed notes that we can each refer to.

The other thing I really appreciate about the system is that it has lots of features and you can choose which you are going to use and how. It is easy to customize to fit your specific needs.

The AgencyBloc staff is always available to answer any questions we have and they are always willing to hear feedback. Some of the feedback we have given has actually resulted in changes, which means they listen!

Overall, we have had a very positive experience with AgencyBloc and the staff that run it!

I've been working with the same software for 40 years and I wished I had known about AgencyBloc a lot sooner.

Pros

User friendly and more efficient then our previous software. Being able to move around in the different tabs without getting in and out of certain areas. We have eliminated the most time consuming responsibility of manually entering LARGE commission statements and are importing in seconds.

Cons

Haven't found anything that I don't like yet.

AgencyBloc is a time saver especially when it comes to email campaigns. You can quickly sort out a list of customers to send specific emails to.

Pros

You can set up automated emails to customers and forget about it. The system will automatically send out your welcome emails, birthday emails, holiday emails, etc. Then, you can check to see who opened the email, how many times they viewed it, and if they clicked on any links. This is a great way to find out how effective your emails are and if you should continue sending them. From my experience, whoever reads your emails the most, happens to be the customer who refers the most.

Cons

Mass emails are at 2 cents per email, but that's only $2 for 100 emails. (Still a great deal!)

I have had an amazing experience with AgencyBloc. They had really top notch customer service. There was one point where I email [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] everyday for a few weeks and she would ALWAYS reply in about 10 minutes. I feel like about of my amazing experience has to do with her excellent customer services. She took the time to explain things to me and provided me with the necessary information. She was always available to chat when I needed her help. Thank you [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN].

What I liked most about this software is the ease of use. I find it every easy to navigate Agency Bloc.

Cons

I dislike that I am unable to see the email campaigns on my dashboard.

The benefits of using this product out weigh its downfalls in its ability to search for particular clients/files.

Pros

I love that I can customize the template for my clients needs. It is very user friendly when you need to add or subtract information. And works decently with other programs that are required at my office.

Cons

I do not like how some of the search options function. Occasionally you can put in the correct client information and no file will pull up. The files there you just have to go to another piece of information, for example a telephone number instead of a last name.

The price-point is inline with what I wanted to spend and I have the opportunity for this system to grow with me and my agency as my needs change. I am very satisfied with the system and have experienced excellent service support when I needed it.

Pros

AgencyBloc has a nice "dashboard" with various tabs that you move through to complete different tasks. I found it to be a more intuitive interface. Its also web-based so you can use it anywhere. Another facet I found important was not having to worry about downloading updates or new software onto my computer.

Cons

I would like to be able to see individuals within a group and their enrollment for the various policies offered by the employer.

I also think it would be an enhancement to have the capability to build an individual contact at the same level of the employer. When there is a family enrolled I would like to have the ability to have spouse and children fall under the primary applicant instead of creating an individual contact for each member enrolled on the policy.

Pros

This software gives me the ability to keep track of clients and truly understand my business. The reports function allows me to run a custom report in literally seconds. In addition, the ability to create a follow-up activity for a client or prospect has provide me one software that keeps my team completely on top of follow-up! I have referred several colleagues to AgencyBloc.

Pros

The software is very easy to train new employees. The new hires have a very small learning curve. New hires are and running day one. Adding clients is very easy and quick. Stability of software has been the best part of using AgencyBloc.

Cons

The sort features are somewhat limited. Would like to see ability to search for clients and agents expanded.
