I enjoyed my time using Microsoft Planner and I continue to use it now when completing projects with others who are more familiar with that over other products. Though other products offer more features, Microsoft Planner is a great resource for any business that already pays for Office 365, as it is included and you do not need to pay for any additional software.
Pros
I loved that I could setup a project plan and assign tasks to individuals. I also like that you can group tasks for different categories, including individuals, task type, priority, etc.
Cons
Though there are many views to choose from, with Board being my go to, I didn't love the UI of the calendar. I wanted a good visual on the calendar to share with others, but the design was a bit simple.

I have been pushing everyone to use it for Project Planning. Getting others to use it has not been painful, which is saying quite a lot.
Pros
I love how quickly I can get other team member using all the features they need with Planner. It holds a lot of information and is much better than a static "To Do" list, but not as complex as most Project Planner software out there.
Cons
Little things like selecting a card and adding another person are not quite as effortless as they could be. Adding the option to "repeat" tasks is a game-changer as now I can make a detailed Planner for an annual event and not have to clone it.

Pros
I used this program as my personal planner to keep track of everything I had going on at the time. It worked pretty decent. I was able to do basic things that to keep track of my planning.
Cons
I wasn't in love with the interface. It was something about it that I just did not like. I'm not sure if it was the colors, the layout, or what but I honestly kept forgetting to use it and eventually switched over to Notion. (whoops)

Overall if you have the mobile app or utilize the online platform, Microsoft planner is a good tool if you don't already use a planner. You can add several things, add attachments, notes and duration for each task and you can also assign tasks to others. It can also be used as a checklist.
Pros
What I like the most about Microsoft Planner is that you can add multiple different things to the task and assign to someone else on your network.
Cons
It is only for business plans on the Microsoft 365 subscription.

Smart and Simple Task Manager
Reviewed on 2024/04/11
Pros
I like how Microsoft Planner integrates seamlessly with the entire Microsoft 365 software ecosystem that my team and I use. It's easy for us to communicate our availability on Teams or Outlook and then implement what we discussed and delegate on Microsoft Planner.
Cons
I feel that Microsoft Planner could improve when it comes to larger projects. As my group began to add a bunch of tasks to the planner, it began to slow down and stall rather than loading as efficiently as before.

Most MS products are simple and practical thanks to the user interface. Thanks to its integration with other MS products, it can provide fast and easy solutions. It has a simple and easy distribution platform. Fast and easy integration into the system is also preferred.
Pros
It is a business management software offered under MS Office 365. As with all MS products, this software was very easy to deploy and manage cloud-based. Like every MS product, this product is very functional as it integrates with other MS products and can work together. Managing existing teams is at a simple, practical and easy-to-manage level for business planning and task distribution. It has a user-friendly interface thanks to its task assignment, support for different languages, and simple interface.
Cons
For those who have not used the Office 365 Platform before, it may seem difficult to use. However, you can quickly adapt to the system after experiencing it for a few days.

Overall as we have planner included with our microsoft 365 plan, it is an inexpensive tool to keep track of to-dos.
Pros
I love utilizing Microsoft Planner to keep on track of my employees. I can see what they are currently working on and add tasks without having to go in person or email them.
Cons
A con is that if I add a task to planner for my employee, they do need to refresh the page to see it. I also think re-occurring tasks are difficult in planner.

Overall is say this is a must have when an office or a business has tasks and projects that their employees engage in. With the ability to manage the program with ease and the ability to track the productivity of the employees with said tasks and projects helps out as well.Don't hesitate to get this and try it out, I am sure you will keep using it as we have!
Pros
Hands down amazing. Very simple and easy to integrate with your systems. Easy to set up and use and pretty straight-forward options and controls. The amount of control you have when making tasks and assigning them is absolutely amazing. Being able to track so much and see when stuff has been missed and not completed.
Cons
This is really more so when using MS Planner on your company mobile device. Sometimes it gets confusing when you have many tasks and group tasks. They get shown differently on the mobile device and this leads to some tasks being missed completely and ignored. As long as you take your time though and check all the folders and swipe to check the tabs for other tasks you should be fine. The desktop version definitely lays it out way better!

Low learning curve, effective for task tracking. I wouldn't be able to stay on track without it.
Pros
I add and review tasks to Planner multiple times a day. I use it like a to-do list and keep all of my tasks there so I don't forget. It also keeps me honest to show what I've already committed to so I don't get distracted by new tasks that aren't on my Planner board yet.
Cons
You have to manually click "add task" after writing your task. I believe Asana, which I used for a month before Planner, allows you to just write the task and it's automatically added.

Microsoft Planner: an efficient solution for managing projects and tasks in teams.
Reviewed on 2023/03/22
Pros
User-friendly interface: The simplicity of the Microsoft Planner user interface is one of the features I like. We can easily create tasks, organise them into lists and assign them to team members.Integration with Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Planner integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Teams, making team collaboration easy. Team members can access tasks and to-do lists directly in Teams, without having to switch between applications.Advanced collaboration features: Microsoft Planner offers many collaboration features that make teamwork easier. For example, team members can add comments on tasks, upload files, and receive real-time notifications for task updates.Project management flexibility: Microsoft Planner offers great flexibility in project management. Users can organise tasks and to-do lists according to their specific needs, and use labels and filters to prioritise tasks.Integration with the rest of the Microsoft ecosystem: Microsoft Planner also integrates with other applications in the Microsoft ecosystem, such as Outlook, SharePoint and OneNote. This allows users to stay productive by using applications they already know.Ultimately, Microsoft Planner is a powerful and flexible tool that offers a wide range of project management and collaboration capabilities for teams of all sizes.
Cons
Customisation limitations: I found Microsoft Planner to be quite limited in terms of customisation. For example, it is not possible to customise list or table views, or to create custom templates for tasks.Limitations in reporting features: Some users reported that the reporting features of Microsoft Planner are quite limited. It is not possible to generate custom reports or export data for further analysis.Difficulties in managing complex projects: Microsoft Planner is a fairly simple project management tool, which can make managing complex projects quite difficult. We find it difficult to keep track of tasks in complex projects involving many team members and many steps.Limitations in managing dependencies: Microsoft Planner does not support the management of dependencies between tasks, so we have to find ways to manage dependencies manually.

One good feature, if you use Microsoft Outlook, is the fact that it's integrated with Microsoft Outlook and therefore is allows you to synchronize the tasks and the different action points.
Cons
