Virtual store system full of new functions
Reviewed on 2019/04/17
Pros
A virtual store with lots of integration options, safe and very fast is what we always need. Do not think that all are like this, but many customers who make use of it always look for this. This can handle in a professional manner and with highly accepted language in the PHP market.
Cons
Some payment types have not yet been programmed for the platform, we still depend on programmers to program Brazilian payment solutions, but there are already several that can already be used. I believe time may come more.

Want to open basic ecommerce platform qucikly?
Reviewed on 2019/01/14
Pros
If you have even a modicum of coding knowledge and want to launch an ecommerce platform in a short amount of time, Open Cart is a great base for beginners. As a coder I prefer writing custom ecommerce platforms. But, some clients don't want to spend the time or money waiting for a custom platform. Thise customers get Open Cart. Plain and simple, this software is my go to base to help clients launch their store in the most time and cost effective manner.
Cons
Installing updates is a bit of a challenge. I recommend waiting a few months after each software update so their coders can work out any bugs and connectivity issues.

You can relly on Opencart for a lot of traffic, being very reliable and with a good design for the administrator.
The templates are widely available and not only on the main website, they are developed from third parties.
Cons
Opencart does not have all the option out of the box, as the big ecommerce software have, but they are really good for niche and hip stores

Good open-source cart platform if you have a developer
Reviewed on 2019/07/16
Pros
It's free, what's not to like about an open-source shopping cart platform. It's extendable with modules, and can be made to be pretty powerful.
Cons
The modules, more particularly, that there are no coding standards or screening processes in which developers must go through before a paid module is put up for sale on the marketplace.

I am self-employed, dealing with only one aspect of the company that I am contracted with, but this application streamlines all of the work neatly into order if used properly. It could be really overwhelming to a single person, but learning a few steps at a time is completely doable. The application itself has always worked reliably.
Pros
Opencart is great for teamwork and order processing/organization. You can customize this application to your needs.
Cons
I do a lot of job submissions, and copy-pasting all the details out of OpenCart slows me down, especially when it comes to transferring customer shipping details. If an order is improperly labeled by anyone in the team, it can be hard to track down. I would love to see a tab that shows most recent job changes in order to find things recently mis-labeled.

I managed to achieve what I wanted to do but the support system could be improved specifically on templated developed by freelancers out of open cart. But overall it's a recommendable platform.
Pros
I have used an opencart for my clients and it's one of those platforms that can help you save time and money. if you know what you want specifically on an e-commerce website they have a lot of options that you can just start and be live in no time. Free and premium ready-made templates to choose from and you can do custom work as well.
Cons
Some of the templates are a bit expensive specifically those done by freelancers. Should be looked into and no support for some of the free templates

Cons
We have found limitations with the platform, for example when structuring a website. We've wanted to change a product structure for a client but there is a flaw in open cart which hasn't allowed this.

It was blast, i got to know a awesome ecom solution(selfhosted) and i learn many things i don't usually learn with other ecom solutions and the catalogue guide is so much easy and deatiled.
Pros
Its lightweight code and extensibility i mean you can literally do anything you want just with some knowledge of php and its working inside out(which can be done in less than a day), i was hired to create an ecom website for a client and i decided to give it a try just for fun but the final result was awesome and client liked the work and i appreciated it for making that time enjoyable for me.
Cons
The community support is lacking for this beautyful piece, and some plugins which i don't want to code cause they are not required for every needs are like over the roof i mean comeon whats the point of asking 100+ bucks for a plugin that only used once for a website is not reasonable i think.

This software is our go-to recommendation for companies that want the most customization without recurring fees impacting their monthly profit margins. Keep in mind it may be a little more pricey to start out with your necessary extensions, but you won't regret your choice (as long as you install extensions as instructed). Maintain your site and your site will maintain your income.
Pros
We absolutely love that it is initially a free platform. Competitors charge for the platform and then charge for features, but OpenCart has a wide range of extensions that perform what you want, the way you want. High-quality platform-wide access to have a large amount of customization and control over your store.
Cons
We do not favor how limited the base platform is on shipping integration, fraudulent order monitoring, or promotional sale control. These are all available as add-ons but are necessary for the majority of businesses, even when they are starting out as a new company.
