I had a good experience with Stamps.com. It was and is vital to my small business and helped me fulfill many orders.
Pros
I like that the software is straightforward. I was able to get customer service when I needed it. I like that the software easily connects to 3rd party applications.
Cons
I found it hard to make changes or cancel my account. I wanted to try other options and had to call customer service to make those types of changes and it wasn't really easy to do so. I also think it is expensive as a baseline software because to effectively use it, you have to basically use a 3rd party application, and that other app also charges fees too.
Reasons for Switching to Stamps.com
Stamps.com was vital to being able to use the other 3rd party apps. I was not able to bypass Stamps.com. I have used Stamps.com for all of my e-commerce needs.- Industry: Investment Management

Printing envelopes with addresses. Retaingin contact lists, however one update casued these files to be lost. No recovery and no support available. Updates cause error notices at every login. No support available

Pros
Stamps.com lets our real estate company easily buy postage for our many properties. We have properties across the country and buying postage online through stamps.com makes it very easy for different properties to ship necessary materials to one another.
Cons
I do not have many qualms with stamps.com. One time our team had difficulty completing an order, but we called their support team and they were able to help in a suitable timeframe.

No More Running To The Post Office For Postage

I wish we had known about this sooner. I no longer have to worry about the hours of the post office to have our postal needs fulfilled, everything can be done right online. It's so convenient, and saves a lot of time. As someone who can't leave the office during most of the hours the post office is open, this is the best answer out there.

Seems to have cheap postage and could be affordably for setting up small to medium shipping retail spots.
Cons
The software was very hard to get a hang of. It was frustrating to even get one label for a package. I got it to work but training others on the software was even worse. Took far to long to setup and we moved to another software as a result.

Pros
It integrates with both of our main e-commerce platforms, Amazon and eBay, and usually brings in our orders properly. When it does, it has all out of shipping speeds set and can automatically configure the services to use, which saves us time. It’s also quick and easy to get a cost estimate for a shipping label using the package tab, as long as you have an address in the general area of the delivery to use.
Cons
It’s clunky. Keyboard shortcuts are mostly non-existent, and some things take more mouse clicks than they need to. It also needs to alert us to the cause of problems, which it currently doesn’t do, but instead just displays a generic warning symbol when an address or shipping service is invalid, without pointing out where the problem is located. We also routinely find orders that do not import for no known reason, mostly from Amazon, and have to add them manually.

USA domestic shipping, since USPS provides good enough online experience for that.
International shipping, since stamps.com is 3-4x slower for delivering packages with higher prices.
Pros
It's quite convenient to manage shipping orders there, including customs declarations.
Interface is intuitive enough to work through it.
Cons
First, it's SLOW in delivering packages. To compare stamps.com with using USPS directly, I had the following experiment.
The same package by weight, size, origin and destination address I have shipped at the exact same date & time at USPS office, and I also dropped to the same USPS office the package with the label printed by stamps.com.
I used the same 3-5 day Express USPS shipping option on both USPS office and stamps.com.
Now the results.
- I had to pay ~10$ more for stamps.com label.
- it took the package with stamps.com label 10 calendar days to reach JAMAICA NY INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER before departing abroad.
- it took 1 (one) day for the USPS -official package to get to JAMAICA NY INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER.
Overall, the same EXPRESS package delivery info:
- stamps.com: 13 days for $86
- official USPS: 4 days for $77
After that experiment I gave stamps.com a benefit of a doubt and repeated the exact same thing again. Shipped the same package again by both, but got the same results. stamps.com delivers packages 3-4x slower than official USPS, and prices are higher by ~12%, and stamps.com also has a service fee of ~$20/month. In my opinion it's an overkill.
I care for my customers, and Stamps.com doesn't. I do not want to use their service again.

Pros
Stamps.com saves you the most important factor in your everydays - your TIME. A few clicks can eliminate your need to drive to and from the post office. I believe utilizing this application added great value to the success of ours.
Cons
The one thing I wish to see is that more carriers, or better yet, if all carriers can be incorporated into this application than it would be perfect.

It is user friendly and very easy to use. I like being able to create my own postage without having to go to the post office. You can also add personal messages and schedule a pick up.
Cons
It is not free and you have to pay for membership which I don't think you should have to.Sometime you may print a mistake and can't cancel. Customer support is hard to get a hold of.
