I love the email editor because it allows you to build both HTML text and simple plain-text emails. Also, it's affordable. Their customer support is also outstanding. Whenever I have questions they will answer them accordingly.

I like everything about this software. I recommend it to anyone looking for an email marketing tool. It is worth your bucks.

Started out using the free version. It has all of the features of the paid version which you can't say that about their competitors. Can immediately have more than one list as well as use automations. Gave me a great idea. how the program works and now I'm paying and a huge fan.

I am able to integrate Email Octopus pretty much everywhere I want. But, occasionally I need to use a third party software to do so. Which isn't a huge deal, but I'm sure that will start seeing email octopus in more and more native integrations.

It's very easy to build emails and work with forms and landing pages

Before being able to send any communication they sent you a set of questions about your data base and lists, where and how you acquire your contacts. They sent this like two hours before I've signed in. I'm supposed to give them all my info, wait for their approval and only then shoot my emails. This is absurd doesn't happen with any other provider I've used before (mailchimp, hubspot, etc)

It’s a relatively simple service that gets you exactly where you want to be — send campaigns, post emails for subscription, etc.

It’s stuck somewhat in a limbo of not the absolute best experience for non-engineers (products like Mailchimp) and also not the best experience for engineers (products like Postmark)

I checked out EmailOctopus because my previous mail platform was changing it's pricing tiers and I found I was paying for services I didn't want or could not use.The pricing plans for EmailOctopus were better and I was impressed that even the free tier which I used to test the service gave me full access to everything (inc. API). Support has been fast and excellent.The service has a good modern UI and is very easy to use.

Not much I don't like - I had a little trouble changing the standard templates, but got what I wanted in the end.

N/A everything about Email Octopus is great there are no cons.

I love that I can use it with Amazon SES and that I can send unlimited emails. Also it's easy to use, setup and maintain.

I wish I could have more than 2500 subscribers for free but their Connect Pro plan is very affordable.

Cheap and easy to use. Campaigns are easy to build and come out looking great. Also like how it shows the growth of your subscribers list going up, a feature mail chimp didn't have

A little tricky getting it connected to shopify

I decided to give EmailOctopus a try when I found it listed as an option to manage my email list post-sales from payhip.com. As someone just starting out, I was excited to find an option with features that would allow me to grow with cost effective packages.

I currently have no cons to mention at this time.

EmailOctopus is designed very well and it's very easy to use. The price is great for my small business.

We haven't explored the api's yet but hopefully they're are easy to use.

EmailOctopus makes it really easy to design and send email campaigns, both automated and as one-off emails or newsletters. I switched from MailChimp after they failed miserably in their Customer Service department, and I've been so impressed by the personal and fast assistance I've gotten from EmailOctopus so far. No complaints!

A small issue for me has been that sometimes, unless I'm extremely careful to check 2-3 times, the font size on some sections of my emails randomly gets re-sized and doesn't match the rest of the email. This looks unprofessional. But if I'm careful and double or triple check, I can avoid this.

EmailOctopus offers a reliable platform at an excellent price, and the level of customer support is particularly good. Questions are answered promptly and efficiently. The platform is easy to use and has a good range of features.

I'd like to see the drag and drop email editor improved. It works well enough and the emails look good, but it is not as slick as other editors I've used.

I *love* the way my newsletter looks, and I appreciate the streamlined management system. I also just adore this company and the fact that they give back to the community. Every employee I've spoken to has been kind, helpful, and friendly.

As an author who's constantly learning, I follow many of my fellow authors' newsletters, so I notice that there are a few features that other newsletter programs have which are not--to my knowledge--on EmailOctopus. Yet. In the year+ that I've used EO, I've seen them add features fairly regularly.

I am a solopreneur who is in the process of building her email empire. At the moment, I have an absolutely tiny email list. I was really struggling to find a company that could meet my needs as someone just getting started. So many other providers were so expensive that I could not justify the cost of the program. Email Octopus is a company that will grow with me - and won't break my budget once I get to where I want to be. Building emails is simple - it works just like other drag-n-drop email builders, but the difference is that it is somehow even easier to use. The landing page builder is also simple and functional. The couple of interactions I have had with the Email Octopus team have been overwhelmingly positive.

Audience segmentation leaves some things to be desired. While Email Octopus is on par with Constant Contact and Flodesk in terms of segmentation, they don't have as many customization options as MailChimp. This isn't a problem for me right now at this stage, but it is something that I am a little worried about for the future.

We use EmailOctopus for our small agency to send our newsletters and other targeted email campaigns. Their tool is extremely easy to use and is very cost efficient for small agencies that have to watch every penny. Plus the are continually adding new features to the platform which makes the value increase every quarter!

Would like the ability to create sub-accounts. And it's a bummer to pay a foreign transaction fee every month.

I like how quickly I was able to set it up. I also frequently give their API documentation as an example of a perfectly written document. While composing a new campaign, the UI doesn't get in the way and I'm able to just get down to work.

I couldn't figure out a way to "merge" multiple user lists, or send a campaign to users from multiple different lists at once.

The customer support was the best feature of EmailOctopus. Every question I had was promptly answered with useful information. Customer service really went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied.

My requirements were quite basic. While not a "feature" of the software, the only area where I saw an opportunity for improvement was to have customer service available during standard US business hours (EmailOctopus seems to be based in the UK.)

Nutshell - AWESOME.

Ease of use. After failing to be able to achieve what we needed with a well known competitor we switched. We had spent four days trying to import our list with the competitor but were unable to due to limitations in the host software.

No landing page. Sure its fine for us, we have a website page specifically for capturing new signups but some will not have this ability. For example in the MLM world the 'rep' or 'agent' may not have or need an actual website but will absolutely need email marketing with a very simple way to capture new users. Something with a url that would allow for sharing on social networks.

Integration with Wordpress isn't very 'pretty'! We're having to use web hooks in a separate form to pass the data through automation to our audience list. The WP plugin isn't, and very probably never will be, as powerful as some of the built in tools within modern WP page builders. Unfortunately whilst the bigger guys tend to get their platforms integrated into WP plugins, it helps the plugin devs sell the product, EmailOctopus isn't current being supported. WP plugin devs, if you're reading this, make it happen!!

It was intuitive and easy to use and set up, the learning curve is low.

Definitely, the editing & formatting of the templates. This have drived me crazy sometimes.I found it hard even after creating and automatized lots of emails already.I haven't managed to "set up" a predefined format, to use it in my new emails.I know you can save your customized templates once you worked on them. But, for instance, if I have on my email a certain color and font, and then I edit and add some new paragraph, this one is added in the original predefined color and font, not in the color and font I'm using, and this is really annoying.It might be possible fix this, but I still haven't find an intuitive way to do it!

The fact that the free version comes with 2500 subscribers. 200 more than MailChimp.

For me there's no serious cons of this software. they did good job in improving their drag and drop editor. But i don't feel they keep up with enough updates. The sector of email marketing providers is crowded and if you don't keep up like what MailChimp did with launching Inbox and Surveys features plus their brand new editor: We as customers and therefore our clients will choose the most advanced solution.

We set up email octopus to automatically update our lists from various Google Sheets generated from our CRM and transaction backups. We also use the landing pages to build our lists. The analytics are well organized and easy to understand. The interface is user friendly. It's an affordable alternative to the "big guys." Customer service has also been very good. We have been very happy with the product.

Templates cannot be organized into categories or tagged. It's hard to find an old one you used before and want to use again.

Ease of use, effectiveness, sends emails efficiently and quickly. The ability to choose from templates or create your own is a great feature! Being able to see who has been sent an email, see when they opened it, and if they clicked on any links is such a wonderful feature for our school! Great costumer service as well. This is the first time our company has ever used an email platform software and it has made my job so much more efficient and the communication between our entire membership and school has never been stronger before! On top of that, I finally get to do something in my position that is creative, I love playing around with the templates and adding my special touches, it has helped me bring fun into my job!

I would of loved more flexibility in creating my own templates, some features as far as how the emails look but other than that nothing!

The number 1 key of this software is their unique ability to plug into your Amazon Email Platform account. This allows you to send out MANY MANY more emails on a daily basis than any other platform I have come across. Not to mention the ease of ability to upload the lists from wherever you have built them before.

The biggest difficulty is that there are not comprehensive statistics set up in the back office to individually see what emails are opening and reading your emails. Or the ones that are clicking. That is a step down from where I was before.

Very easy to use with high deliverability and has almost all features that it's competing for a fraction of the cost.

I would love to see the ability to re-send to subscribers who didn't open.
