Whereby made it easy for us to organize meetings quickly and has all the basic features that video conferencing software needs.
Pros
Whereby allows you to stay connected and productive while on the go. You can use it as a webcam or microphone, allowing you to make video calls on all your favorite platforms without having to worry about compatibility issues. One of the main benefits of using Whereby is that it's free. Because it's a cloud-based application, there are no costly upgrades or monthly fees to use it. The app is also available across all devices, which means you can get to your information from any device that has an Internet connection.
Cons
The free version is limited in features and not suited for larger meetings.

Whereby allowed me to get started with video conferences and online meetings. However, I switched to Zoom for more stability and functionalities.
Pros
Whereby has a user-friendly and simple-to-use interface? It is easy to set up a meeting and send invitations. You can receive notifications when users enter the room (customizable). Rooms can be locked or open, which is convenient to give you more control over who can come in. The quality and speed are standard, however, I had to deal with broken-up communication more often than with Zoom. At first, I thought web-based technology would not be great, but it turned out to work well and be rather user-friendly.
Cons
Resources, features, and functionalities are more limited than Zoom. It was always a bit frustrating not to be able to share a specific window but to share the whole screen (at least from Safari). The background image (called "effect" instead of background image, which is the frame image and not what appears behind you)is limited to a few preselected ones, and you cannot choose your own picture.

You can create personalized rooms for your teams/company and use the room to meet anyone
Cons
They brought an unnecessary limit to the number of people that can attend meetings at once, then we had to stop using it. Also, the mobile version was not good at all.

I use it multiple times per day. Our entire team has become accustomed to using Apprear.in as our central meeting location. We were using Hangouts prior and this has become much more efficient. My connection quality is as expected 99% of the time & outside users gain access without hindrances. As you can see I am a big fan.
Pros
Ease of use, simple for low tech users, fast for our team, centralization, no user accounts or logins
Cons
I have to search for items, no real cons. Switching between small and large rooms can confuse some users.

I started using this with a client that is now the company I work for, it really caught my attention to see a new conference app. I really enjoyed to see that we have a personalized link with our company name, I feel more secure to share documents nad company files than at other software. Is very interactive and easy to use, even for the non techies or people that are new at online conferencing is very easy to understand.
Pros
I really enjoy that it makes the meeting feel more private than other online meetings software, it is personalized for our company and its got great features. The audio quality is really nice, the connection is stable and it allows to share files very easily from the desktop
Cons
The free version has a limit of users that are allowed for a conference, but at the company we have a bussiness account so its not big deal, yet is a problem for the ones that are trying the free version to evaluate.

Pros
The key selling point of appear.in is surely its one-click magic. You just have to click on the link and that's it - you are in and have already started video conferencing. This is the most important thing when you want to interview lots of users for your product research, and don't want to bother them installing third party software.
Cons
It can be buggy sometimes, sound will not work properly on occasion, but nothing too serious.

Love appear.in and using it with Fit Armadillo clients. In the past other technologies kept people from engaging in our services due to the complexities of having to log in. Appear.in has been wonderful for our clients and staff and made things easy!
Cons
There can be many different types of technology and settings and sometimes the basic tips don’t help all users. Not really appear.in’s fault though!

It's a great product for power users but some more conveniences as mentioned would make it irreplaceable. Don't focus on embedding software - screensharing can show any software, it doesn't need to have native support.
Ambient noise is a problem for new users so 'mute' training is something I have to administer to the 20+ people who have adopted on my recommendation.
Pros
Single click start and better video experience than skype. Re-instating YouTube 'play together' is a highlight
Cons
simple fixes/changes as suggested 24 months ago haven't occurred:
- 'v' key to toggle video feed like the 'm' key
- a sound indicator on someones window to show they are broadcasting sound (will help detect/identify ambient sound)

Overall its a decent product target towards small to medium companies and is very affordable. UI is optimised and usability is awesome.
Pros
Its objective is to provide video conference at low cost. It is very cheap and still provides all the basic features one would expect from a video conference tool. It is easy to connect, doesn't require any app installations and works directly from a browser. UI is very minimalistic and well optimised. Well suited for small team up to 50 members.
Cons
It doesnt have some important features like noise cancellation, call transcription, live captions, etc. Screen sharing can be laggy sometimes. However with regular updates its getting better and adding more features.

Whereby isn't a tool we use everyday, because with many frequent contacts we are communicating in something else like zoom, skype, discord or slack. Every so often though we have contacts who don't frequently use those programs, or use them at all, and we find that the easiest way to get a meeting started is to simply email them our Whereby URL. The fact that it provides a no hassle experience in that type of situation is exactly what we need.
Pros
We like that joining a video call doesn't require participants to download software, they simply visit our customized meeting room URL and they are a part of the meeting. Whereby has the easiest experience for joining meetings that we've found.
Cons
Right now Whereby is a tool we use for a very specific case along with other meeting tools. We'd like to be able to either use Whereby in more situations, or be able to use less tools overall. For this reason I am not sure if Whereby is a solution we can recommend to anyone.

It's been a great ride so far.
Pros
It's been really easy to set up an interview between our clients (hiring managers) and the candidates, you don't have to ask for Skype users and go back and forward with emails sharing that information, you only have to set up a "conference room" and share that link, that's it!
Cons
It's almost perfect, I just wish there's some chrome extension or email/calendar client plug-in to make it even easier.

Simple browser based video conferencing system.
Reviewed on 2019/06/18
Pros
I like how simply I can start video conferencing just from my browser no more installation of any kind of software.
Signing with Google is always appreciated and I also tell people to use google sign-in.
I just shared my room and my team can join video conferencing with me in no time.
I found all the data they have on me can be downloaded, which is another good thing to have.
I like the image quality and it is good.
Cons
I don't like how anyone with the link can join the conference, and I want to see adding permission before joining the conference.
Video gets out of sync with the audio and I have to restart the room to get all the things working again. Maybe it needs a high quality computer to work.

I really love the services that Whereby offers. Really easy to use and facilitates solid communications remotely. You all should try it.
Pros
So easy to use, and requires little effort to get connected. Also people you are connecting with do not need an account, all you have to do is send a link and they are in the meeting. I really love the simplicity and the custom room makes it fancy to me. It’s worth the money
Cons
There really isn’t much to dislike with Whereby. My only gross is that the limit of four people isn’t really ideal for people who work with big companies.

Cons
A client I was working with recently insisted on using appear.in for meetings and I easily became frustrated with its many issues, starting with the video quality issues and sound issues, regardless of working on a strong internet connection. Needs much improvement in that sense. FYI, I work on Google Chrome for Mac running on Mojave 10.14.4

We use it instead of google hangouts some times, especially when the meetings are internal of the company. For example we know what room we have to go for the weekly meeting and we just open the tap at that url when the time is due.
Pros
It's really easy to use, you can setup you "room" on a specific url and you just share that url with the other people. That's literally it, you don't even have to make other people signup/login.
Cons

Overall, Whereby has provide a positive experience and has done enough to convince me of continued use. It's not my most frequently used video conferencing service, but it is definitely suggested and brought up during conversations.
Pros
