A great choice for sharing files securely

Reviewed on 2024/11/10

Pros

The view stats about the documents are the best thing. You can easily check who reads the files, when they access it, how many times, etc.

Cons

The pricing is definitely too high if compared with similar software.

Buyer Beware! DocSend Does Not Prevent Document Downloads

Reviewed on 2019/11/25

Pros

Pricing looked attractive. BUT it turned out this was a "you get what you pay for" situation.

Cons

DocuSend falsely claims that you can set the software to disallow downloading of documents. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]
This is NOT true. What they don't tell you is that anyone can simply Print the document to PDF.

When I challenged their customer service people on this, they claimed that they couldn't stop it, but that their software would distort the document so it is not readable. It is true that longer multi-page documents were cut off after 5+ pages, but the material that was left was only distorted by less than 10% of the content.... meaning that it is possible that a substantial leakage of your confidential info could occur.

It wouldn't be so bad if they simply owned up to the lack of this feature in their software; then a buyer can decide whether the feature is necessary and the rest of the package is worth the price. But their lack of transparency on their website, coupled with their inept customer service response gave me a total lack of trust in this company.

Pros

Overall experience with DocSend is nice as it is feasible and easy to manage the document with security just keep in mind the pricing is bit higher.

Pros

One of the best feature in DocSend is its feasible nature of single sign on feature which makes it easy to accessible as well as easy to use with proper privacy provided along with that document management and storage facilities.

Cons

In the long run the pricing is pretty much high compare to the competitors which makes it choosy if we want premium features but need to have hole in the pocket.

We use Dropbox DocuSend for a variety of tasks, but mainly for sending and receiving files from different departments that need to be in a secure setting, we password protect them and it always works perfectly, and we also use the tool that gives access to files for only a specific period of time to make sure that in any potential danger, we can turn off the link immediately. Dropbox DocuSend has also worked for us when tracking the engagement of our files, seeing how many people have accessed it and how are they engaging with them, allowing us to create different analytics to see the performance of our documents. It's a good platform to feel secure in and to know which one of your files are the most engaging with teams and clients.

Pros

I like that Dropbox DocSend has many security measures that can be controlled during every step of sharing to make sure that nothing wrong happens with our files. This tool is an addition to Dropbox so it makes it so much easier to use because it's already integrated and there's no need to change platforms, and it gives full control over the management of our files. I specially like that there is no need to use email because it's all done inside the platform, but I also like that there is an option for verifying access via email because it's always necessary to add that extra security step for certain files. One of my favorite tools included in this is that I am able to edit files that I've already sent without needing to send another copy, which is something that I would have to do if I used email to send it, it's a small detail but truly necessary in today's technology.

Cons

I think if I could pick anything I disliked, it would be the cost, it's a bit high but also considering that it has more security features than other options, I think it's totally worth it. It makes us feel more safe and we are certain that there won't be any risks and our files won't be harmed in any way. Besides from that, there's nothing else that I dislike, it's a good platform in general.

Easy to use tool for sharing sensitive files with view tracking and password protection

Reviewed on 2024/06/02

Pros

DocSend is helpful for sharing sensitive files that need to be viewed, not edited (where collaborative tools are more handy). It tracks when the people you shared the file with viewed it and notifies you, so you know if they've seen it or not. You can password protect the file link and/or make its link expire.

Cons

When sharing PDFs, it would be helpful to have the option to enable copy and pasting if needed so who you're sharing it with can copy and paste some details and numbers over typing them out (more prone to error). Not many other cons, DocSend does what you need it to.
