Pros

I love not having to chase parents for money as much.

Cons

I wish you could duplicate an existing program. Our programs are often very similar in dates and wording, so it would be helpful to just have to go in, duplicate a program, and update the pricing as needed.

Thanks Gillian, creating new programs should not be time consuming but we are working on a feature to duplicate programs. The only thing you would have to check would be the payment plan dates and amounts of course. The app we have is SaaS so a trick we use is to duplicate the tab that way you can copy and paste the information from old program over to the new program.

Switching ASAP even though I paid for a year up front. Would not recommend.

Pros

N/A - I don't like the software. Parents didn't like to use it either.

Cons

Parents hated using it; QB integration wasn't easy at all; payments took much longer to be received than promised

It is close but not there to be called my one-stop shop. Hope to continue seeing new features being released.

Pros

Ease with which we can take care of all our invoicing and payment processing.

Cons

Have been giving feedback to the TUIO team re: make available enhanced ability to send emails to our clients directly. Currently using 'Mailchimp'. Other small features such as ability to 'Export' data from different tabs.

Thank you for the review Harpinder. We added the export option on the student, parent, enrollment, and registration tabs in addition to the 'Invoices' tab export we had previously. So we took care of that for the most part. We are going to add a combined student/parent export as well going live this week! We will work on the second iteration of the conversations system to add the email and text message options. Hopefully when those are live we can get the "5 star" review!

Great system for a small to medium sized school

Reduce paper processing; collect payment efficiently

Ease of enrollment and distribution of other forms during the school year

Cons

The payments take 3 days to process.The implementation was not particularly easy for me because I have minimum support internally and the support at TUIO assume that I am well versed already. However it worked out fine and I now know how to navigate the portal.

Thanks for the awesome review Raj. Only the bank account payments take 3 days to mark as paid, but the funds often settle in your account before that- once the invoice shows 'Payment in Progress' you can usually treat it as a payment made by the family. Credit card payments are instantaneous and go to Paid right away if successful. Payment by bank account online is similar to payment by cheque/check, and the funds take some time to clear. payment collection and processing has been streamlined as payments come automatically and we seldom need to get involved with following up with families for missed payments.

Pros

online, automatic payment processing at a very reasonable price point.customer service has always been great with prompt and knowledgeable staff.

Cons

There are currently some limitations in terms of multiple-line invoices with more than 1 discount item.

Tuio is a great program for small schools

we will be going through our first year with Tuio as we started after registrations were already collected last year. I am hoping that I will see all of the potential I saw in it.

Pros

it handles all of the money collection for our tuition without me really having to do anything

Cons

The set-up is not really intuitive...but once learned, it is easy to use. The support is outstanding and they are willing to take whatever is needed to get you to understand what you need to do

TUIO is incredible!

Pros

TUIO has incredibly eased our tuition collection workflow. Their UI is very easy to use and clearly shows all aspects of the process. At $1.50 per ACH transaction, it's a very economical option for our parents. Additionally, their customer service and onboarding experience has been stellar! Thank you for your efforts!

Cons

I liked everything so far. If I didn't know where to find a feature, it was a matter of a quick email to customer support for a consistently quick, useful, and kind response!

Makes Our Jobs Easier

We love it! I recommend it to all my fellow childcare owners/operators.

Pros

As a childcare owner, I am no expert in accounting and always struggled with record keeping and yearly tax receipts were a nightmare and so time consuming.
This year, with Tuio, I issued all my tax receipts in under 15 minutes.
They looked professional and were accurate and there was no corrections needed. What a time saver and a professional-looking service to offer our clients.

Cons

A lot of parents comment or panic when they set up their account and see the “total amount of all the invoices” on the first page. They don’t even bother to open the invoices, they immediately contact us wanting to know why their invoice is so high. We spend a lot of time explain it to parents.
Also, there should be a mention in the sign up email(or in a more prominent spot) that is sent to new clients to alert them that the link expires in a set time. So many have needed to be resent, because they expired.

When the parent clicks a link that has expired, there is a self-serve option to resend a new link. I will add that language to the new parent letter from now on to make it more clear.

Yes there is a clear distinction in the payment set up between any amount "due now" and any due in the future. I can understand if it's often overlooked (if they don't click to expand view of all the invoices) and can look to add ways to make it more clear what is due now versus what is scheduled to come due in the future.

I have saved so much time. I love that parents have access to their information at all times and reports are generated automatically.

Pros

This product makes collecting funds so easy. I no longer have to chase customers for payments. Payments are automatically drafted or charged.

Cons

I wish more than one parent/guardian could have access and receive notifications.

Game-changing admissions and enrollment software

Aside from it's how easy and useful TUIO is, I believe the best part of it was their customer service. Every time I had an issue with something, they were responsive via email within 24 hours (usually a couple of hours) and would call and reach out when the issue is complicated. They are also quick to improve their software, as I remember suggesting to them how annoying it is for schools to be charged NSFs, and they took it out for us. Great communication with their community!

Pros

Extremely easy to set up and use for administrative and user side with a clean UI. Easy to organize, categorize and search through the database.

Cons

They could allow the administrators to have more access to setting up payment methods, but I understand why they restrict it.

Would never go back or choose another company after using TUIO

Amazing. From the software to the employees to the designers, they are just amazing. If i have a problem or even a parent thats had a problem they email in minutes or jump on the chat if you need them. They are always available. That is not something you find often. Other companies, you wait days to get an answerr or even wait on hold for hours. Not this company.

Pros

It is easy to use. Easy to navigate. There are always positive changes to this software and always making it better for our business and easier for our parents.

Cons

I can not find anything i DON'T like. Im not sure anyone would find anything they didn't like.

Reasonable pricing for us and bank to bank option for our parents. It gets the basic job done of collecting payments.

Cons

Not as flexible with giving parents option to change payment date to an earlier date. There are no notifications to administrators when payment terms have been missed.

Thank you for the helpful review Mai. While TUIO is an automated payment system, you can accommodate the parents wanting to pay sooner and process the payment on the invoice ahead of time! This is done using the 'Mark as Paid' feature on the invoice and selecting the parent payment method they chose. For missed payments, we notify the parents automatically and you can view the overdue amounts and receivables on demand at the click of a button in the 'Invoices' tab. I'll have support reach out to meet with you and go over the described features, and will add your feedback to our list for development.

Pros

The software is pretty easy to navigate. I love how parents have the options of payment methods and the payments are usually automatically processed

Cons

One downside of the software is that once a parent is registered, the administrator of the school can’t edit the parent’s information. Instead they have to contact the support team for it.

Once the parent is activated, it's only the email they have installed that needs to be changed with support team help. This is because the parent might have active accounts at several locations using TUIO, and we need to keep the data consistent for data integrity purposes.

Easy payment processing

Pros

Easy payment of school fees. Less written cheques and visits to the school office to pay for fees. Email communications prior to payment processing to ensure funds are available in my account before payments are processed.

Cons

Payments are set for processing on specific dates. Sometimes I would prefer to just pay immediately and not have to be reminded about it for processing on another day.

We are happy with the product.

Pros

We like that everything is one place. We like that we not longer have to collect fees. Customer service has been timely and helpful.

Cons

We would like it to be easier to create forms, maybe some templates we could choose from.We would like parents to be able to use debit cards.We had some difficulty uploading. We had to have help getting our contract and handbooks on line. It seemed to be an issue with Google Docs.

Parents can use debit cards, if they have a virtual debit card they are welcome to use it! Otherwise they can pay bank account which is coming from the same source.

We have had a wonderful experience with TUIO. Customer service is great!

Pros

We can keep track of all of the payments including payments made and payments outstanding. Families can also log on to see what is due. Customer support is excellent!

Cons

We have not yet tried the admissions and documents upload yet. Would like to try this.

TUIO is a great tool for payment processing

Overall TUIO is great, and I will continue to use it and recommend it to others.

Pros

I love that with TUIO all tuition payments are handled directly online. It has greatly simplified my workload because I don't need to send payment reminders to parents.

Cons

The only thing I feel could be improved upon would be to make it more obvious when there is a missed/overdue payment. I run several different programs and I have to open each one to check for missed/overdue payments.

A life/time saver!

Pros

Most parents did not struggle with the transition and the support is over the top efficient and friendly

Cons

There were some parents that were denied access to the accounts for various reasons but mosty because their bank had not been alerted to a large lump sum being cashed. Also, I wish that I could just click all of the boxes that apply (ie tuition, rebates, discounts etc) instead of creating new programs for all aspects.

Just want to clarify that we do not deny parents access to their account under any circumstances. That was a failed payment and when a payment fails, it just means the parent may have to resolve it in their account, like the example you mentioned with their bank. We always help resolve failed payments with your families.
