I like that you can host it yourself and have complete control over where it stores it's data.

Cons

The auto complete browser plugins are not as well designed as some of the competition.

Excellent team password organization

Reviewed on 2023/10/09

Pros

Passwork works well for our purposes of managing a very large collection of shared passwords across our team, while allowing external 3rd parties access to share and view shared records. Password organization and structure are clear and easy to use.

Cons

Although all our required features exist and work well at their core, the UI is often confusing. Editing access permissions on objects is not intuitive, so carefully testing and documenting process has been critical for us.

Alternatives Considered

1Password

Reasons for Choosing Passwork

Keeper had poor shared password permissions management features. We often had problems access or editing shared collections of records.

The Password Manager of Choice

Reviewed on 2024/02/12

Pros

Passwork is very easy to use and manage, both from a user's and admin's perspective. Updates have been very well documented and, therefore, easy to apply. When some error or issue is encountered, the support is top notch.

Cons

We believe the Admin experience regarding the user synchronization from Active Directory could be improved. However, it can still be interactive, once you get used to it.

Passwork is our company-wide tool for passwords. We are very happy with the solution. The support is fast and reliable and was very helpful during implementation. We use the tool across all our departments and the simple SSO integration and LDAP mapping enabled us to structure the vaults the way we need to. The ease of use and intuitive interface are another positive point.

Pros

Simple and user-friendly interface
Enterprise Features like SSO and LDAP-Mapping
User rights management with roles

Cons

Pros

Passwork is rather easy to setup and start implementing to an existing environment.
The LDAP and Role management allowed us to move existing access rights.
Also the constant updates and visibility of future features helps grow the trust into this company.

Cons

The browser plugin works and is functional everything we wanted but feels like it could use some more love.

Smart and easy to use password manager for business

Reviewed on 2019/01/16

Pros

My company is using Passwork for more than a year and I'm quite happy about it. Very good solution for startups (I can recommend a cloud-based version) as well as for companies with a large number of employees (in this case self-hosted edition will fit better). Had some questions — support was really fast and friendly. Pricing is very nice as well.

Cons

Passwork is not so famous as LastPass or 1Password, maybe someone will consider it as a disadvantage. But for me it's not a problem at all — I will always choose not so hyped software, but with great features, good support and for the reasonable price.

The safest Password protection app we have ever used

Reviewed on 2021/11/23

Pros

With more teams working remotely during the pandemic, it’s even more crucial than ever before to have a password manager that you can trust. We signed up for Passwork when our office went remote and we’re so glad we made this decision. Their enterprise package covers everything a business would need. With Passwork, we can manage server passwords, CMS passwords, FTP, SSH and security certificates. They’ve also recently added SSO authorization, API features and LDAP integration that makes it easy to manage the roles on a network.

Cons

We can't tell something wrong about this app. We have used it for quite some time, and it's very safe and user-friendly.

I was looking for an on premise solution to store and manage our passwords. Multiuser with different roles and rights was a must, LDAP integration a nice add on. Passwork ticked all the boxes. They were realy helpful in the testing phase (demo license and expanded it to do some more tests) and ultimately helped with the integration of our AD user lsit (was a bit tricky to setup but works flawless ever since). Performance is very good and the best thing is the near zero enduser problems - its so intuitive, that none of the 30 users had any further questions after first introducing the software.
We're using the browser plugin and secure the access to the actual frontend with a certificate - works really well.

Pros

On premise solution
Good LDAP Integration - User creation fast and easy
Group/ role management is easy
Intuitive user interface, nearly no enduser support necessary
Quick reply from helpdesk and good documentation

Cons

Mobile device/ App integration could be better

Subpar to say the least. A great concept gone abandoned :(

Pros

Good back-end UI. It is easy to use with easy-to-understand navigation.

Cons

Unfortunately, there are several very important features missing from Passwork (cloud).
The Chrome extension leaves a lot to be desired.
There is no Autofill. There is no Autocapture. There is no team sharing with the option of hiding the Passwords from specific team members.
I brought this up to the founders & devs several times & they keep promising updates. but it has been two years & still nothing. Not even close.
It's a shame, because this really had potential.
Oh well, I am done waiting & I will be moving forward with other Password Managers.

We needed a new cost-effective solution that was hosted within the EU and preferrably in our own datacentre which we got and the support was fast and competent to answer the questions we had.

Pros

Passwork offers an on-prem solution that helps GDPR-compliance and integrates with our Active Directory which makes onboarding new users easy and ensures that we do not have users that have left the company that still have access to our systems.
The import from our previous solution was very easy and intuitive.
The installation process is well documented but requires a lot of components to be installed and configured so it may be a little hard to debug if you go wrong somewhere. Our installation did however go fine.
The system does not have as many features as other solutions we tested, but it does just enough, is easy and fast to use and the price/performance is excellent.

Cons

We miss reporting features for that can help identify passwords that should be changed when an employee leaves the company based upon the passwords the employee have accessed.
Moving passwords between folders is tedious when moving multiple passwords because they have to be moved individually.
The tags cannot be limited to a specific list we create so we can end up with multiple tags invented by each user.
The automatic logout should be configurable instead of 10-minutes or no automatic logout and if the automatic logout could be configured differently according to where the end-user connects from (internal/external/trusted-IP's) it would be great.

We implemented Passwork a couple of years ago to address the growing need to manage and collaborate on passwords used by our Agency. Prior to Passwork, we were using spreadsheets. It has proven to be a low-cost, easy to use solution for our Agency!

Pros

As an Office Manager, I like the ability for employees to share their vaults with me so that we have those records if they are out of the office or even after they leave.

Cons

I understand the need for the Master Password but I really wish there was a way for the individual user to reset it if they forget it. This is the biggest headache that we have is that employee's can't log in because they don't remember their Master Password and so we have to start from scratch with a new account.

We were looking for a password manager that met our needs and found a good and easy to use solution in Passwork.

Pros

Passwork is cost-effective, allowing us to offer all of our employees a shared password manager solution that is easy to use. It allows for a quite specific access right management. Passwork can be self-hosted via an on premise server installation, which also allows for AD integration.

Cons

The documentation for an on premise setup is a bit sparse, but after contacting Passwork's customer service the sys admin responsible was able to finish the setup without any problems.
Moving passwords between folders can be tedious as they need to be moved individually.
It would have been great if Passwork had a timed clipboard clearing function.

We needed an on-premise credential server to meet privacy compliance with several clients. Passwork provided that solution and allowed us to connect to our Active Directory for authentication as well as import credentials easily from a previous system.

Pros

Open Source software with all the expectations of securely storing highly sensitive credentials. The web interface is highly responsive. The support team is very quick to fix and implement patches.

Cons
