I recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to the expensive remote connect apps. I used many other remote connection software and did extensive research, and I think this is the top one.

Pros

My experience with ISL Light has been great, especially in terms of its performance and reliability during remote sessions. The speed and stability of the connection were top-notch, allowing me to connect to our computers in distant administrative campuses. Being able to use it on various devices made my work much more convenient. ISL Light's robust features and smooth operation are what I liked most about it.

Cons

I think the design can be improved and there are some ways to be a little more friendlier.

Brilliant, we've been with them for 4-5 years now after switching from Log me in as they put their prices up just as we expanded our team, ISL were great to deal with.

Pros

Its very easy to use, quick to connect to users machines and never seems to freeze or have connection issues, which is vital to our business

Cons

There is nothing to dislike about ISL. They contact us in good time about our renewals, the comms are really friendly and they are just a nice company to do business with

Pros

ISL is fast and responsive to remote onto client machines. Easy to add unattended machines and share access internally.

Cons

ISL is lacking some features of higher-profile remote tools such as NinjaRMM or N-ABLE RMM. However this can be overlooked with the price and value for money.

This is the best, most intuitive remote access software for tech support technicians that service multiple clients.

Pros

Accessing remote devices using ISL is easy. I have the app on my main PC, my laptop, and my phone. Being able to work on a device from my phone means I don't have to be tied to a computer for tech support. Everything works, always.

Cons

When moving devices to groups, and dropping it, the screen refreshes and goes back to the top of the list. If I am moving devices, I don't want to keep scrolling down. Would be nice to select multiple devices and drag and drop to the group. Also, would be nice to create an access password per group. Since I service multiple companies, it would be nice to select group and change password for entire group.

It was too expensive and you had to know the local password to the PC to connect, where as with ISL, you just have to know the access password.

The main issue was cost, the second was the ability to organize clients into groups, use my cell phone *HUGE*, and not needing the local admin password to log in.

Overall this has been a great tool. I have used many other software in this field but so far this one is the best value.

Pros

Very easy to use. Has everything you could ask for in a remote desktop application. UI is easy to navigate and understand.

Cons

The only con I could even give it is when you set unattended access and then go to connect to that machine it downloads and executable every time. You can just label and save that .exe and use it instead of clicking the connect in the portal. Having more than 500 end users though I just do not want to have to dig through .exe's to find the one I want.

Much better than we expected for the price, has done everything we wanted it to and more, although there are always areas for improvement.

Pros

Excellent value for money!
Very easy to transfer files, just drag and drop.
Quick and easy to access unattended machines.
Secure with multiple password layers.
Once deployment is set up, it's quickly scalable.
Concurrent user pricing model is much better than per user.
Customer support is always available and helpful via online chat.

Cons

Unable to see any info about unattended computers such as the username of the logged in user, or a screen preview.
Deployment is a little fiddly, it would be easier if you could just download a customised MSI without having to wrap up the commands.
There is no easy way to transfer existing ISL clients from one support provider to another.
Sometimes the client needs restarting to get all features working again (especially Ctrl+Alt+Del).
Product names are a little confusing, which version do users/customers need to install?
No easy customisation options with company logos etc.

The reporting of end device hardward and software could be better. A simple report to view all devices or groups of devices in one place.

It is fast, reliable and great value investment for my business, i could not operate without, have tried many other remote support and remote access tools this offered the best performance and value for money

Pros

The software just works and is quick to connect plus has very rapid deployment options with great documentation on how to do this. Support is also rapid and some of the best I have ever experienced.

Cons

A few more options to be able to set customisation from the web gui would be nice but not detrimental.

Easy and quick to use

Pros

We switched from using Teamviewer to ISL and it was very easy to pick up and start using daily. The software meets all of our requirements and helps us delivering remote support to clients. The software is easy to install on client machines and the groups/clients menu is very useful.

Cons

The groups/clients list could do with some more options for sorting clients, e.g. sorting by IP address or sorting by 'last online'.

When we first starting using it, I was a one man IT support function with a need to support remote users all over the country. After looking at the wide range of product available, ISL Light provided the functionality I needed at the right price.

Pros

ISL Light is very easy to setup and use. My Clients have very little difficulty in allowing me to gain control of their screens. Now that i can access multiple screens at the same time i can be more productive and keep on top of my work load.

Pros

Connection using the AlwaysOn setup is excellent and very quick to establish a connection to a remote PC.

Cons

On demand client setup could do with some prompts on the administrators end to describe what the user might be seeing. Often a user will start to read out a security warning and ask what to do so would be good to know what these might be as they seem to differ slightly, maybe from browser to browser.Initial setup to connec to a Mac is tricky and seems to involve changing system settings for screen recording. A quick link to help for this would be useful when establising a connection to save time.

Security warnings on macOS are due to Gatekeeper. Applications installed outside the App Store must now be notarized by Apple to launch seamlessly. Currently, ISL Network Start is notarized, which means that any ISL Online application downloaded through Network Start is trusted by Gatekeeper. If an ISL Online product is downloaded directly (we recommend using Network Start), Gatekeeper will prevent it from running.

We recommend users to join the session via the "Join page" to avoid such warnings: https://help.islonline.com/19201/161763#macos-5

To start the ISL Light Client, two permissions must be added to enable a fully functional remote session. You'll be prompted to allow both permissions in your Mac's Security and Privacy settings in the "Accessibility" and "Screen Recording" sections.

Mac permissions are terrible, all remote access tools have the same challenges? But I wish there was a better way!

We have been using ISL for over 12 years. The software was easy to deploy and when we set up a new machine we install it as part of the configuration process.

Cons

The only thing I dislike is the file transfers. It would be better if they labled each end with the computer name
