The takeoff and estimating software delivers a powerful solution for managing project estimation with precision and ease. It stands out for its advanced calculations, seamless integration with existing estimating apps, and automatic importing of complex assemblies. The inclusion of CSI standards provides clear structure and consistency across projects.

Pros

Following are what I like most about Methvin:
- Advanced equation and function capabilities
- Smooth integration with estimating apps
- Automated importing for faster workflows
- Granular project tracking
- CSI standard integration for improved organization

Cons

It may require a learning curve for new users and the estimating software has a high initial setup due to customization options, but the takeoff app is very easy to master

Hands down the best estimating software out there

Throughout my experience, I've utilized various estimating applications, ranging from high-cost options amounting to thousands of pounds annually to more budget-friendly alternatives priced in the hundreds per year. Methvin's functionality rivals that of its pricier counterparts, offering superior value at a more reasonable rate. Since implementation, it has significantly optimized both time and cost efficiencies, resulting in a substantial return on investment. The comprehensive breakdown provided in the bill of quantities enhances client confidence and greatly increases the likelihood of quote acceptance.

Furthermore, [sensitive content hidden], the proprietor, delivers exceptional customer service unparalleled by any other provider in the industry.

Pros

Methvin's primary strength lies in its robust capabilities for estimating and generating reports within the construction industry. Once configured, its efficiency and precision in pricing various project items surpass those of its competitors. The level of detail assignable to each item far exceeds that of comparable applications in its price range. For instance, when estimating components such as a stud wall, users can accurately determine the quantities of timber, screws, plasterboard, plaster, angle beads, and even staples required.

Moreover, Methvin facilitates the creation of comprehensive reports, allowing users to easily track labor hours allocated to each trade involved in a project. Additionally, users can monitor the consumption of materials throughout the project duration.

Cons

The initial setup process of Methvin may pose a learning curve for new users, as is typical with similar applications. While its takeoff function is effective, there is potential for enhancement through the addition of supplementary features.

Using Methvin Takeoff is a great opportunity to widen my knowledge and skills for it is user-friendly and functional.

Pros

What I like most about Methvin Takeoff is that it’s very convenient and efficient in terms of time and product output. It helps you be more organize and manage your projects well.

Cons

What I least like about Methvin Takeoff is that it gets a little bit confusing at first but you’ll get the hang of it afterwards since it is very easy to learn and easy to process. I just hope that it can support more file type.

Never really had any issues that I couldn't work through. Very helpful for me

Pros

I like that I have the ability to use it for free on a minimal basis. It allows me to dive into the world of commercial painting large projects without having to spend thousands of dollars on a program that I may not use very often. This will allow me to grow and as I do I can upgrade my plan. But for now it's free as long as I Don't need / use it as much.

Cons

The free version only allows 6 take off. But that's really not a big deal for me.

METHVIN Take-Off Software Review

Reviewed on 2022/11/09

I can say that Methvin Software with minor fixings and update will surely be the most useful tool to all Stakeholders, Contractors and Subcontractors in the Construction Industry within a short time.

Pros

I found subscribing to Methvin is much easier. There’s not so many forms to fill and all information requirements are direct compared to other Software’s that requires irrelevant information and hard disk space to download before you can even start opening the drawings. Its Cloud-based feature gives Methvin the Software advantage that is truly what I need to keep up with the current fast phased construction industry requirement. Methvin Software is user friendly where Sample works can be easily access along with the very Clear HELP Feature whenever I needed training or I need to search for commands and procedures in the system. I observed that the Gant Chart export options to Excel, PDF, and MS Project is an excellent feature that is truly admirable in this software. I like that the Dashboard, Inbox, Apps, Project Management Resources (System, Incidents/Issues/ITP) and the inclusion of the Contract documents are added in Methvin functions which makes it comprehensively unique compared to other takeoff software.

Cons

I found that it easily uploads PDF files but has yet to improve the option of AUTOCAD File Uploading in their system, since upon trying to upload AUTOCAD Plans the result is Erroneous. I found that Methvin uses simple tools making it user friendly but apropos features such as pan and zoom function, full plan view function, measuring curvilinear lines, snap and ortho functions, ability to edit/add/delete points after measuring and the option to hide/show dimensions including measurement legends on plans has to be incorporated in order to maximize and efficiently measure all required data from plans. I noticed that the Measurement Report feature of letting me measure sub-rooms is quite nice but editing the descriptions are somewhat challenging specially that it does not show on the Excel Sheet after being exported.I observed that the Pages feature shows the full page but fails to show the highlighted/measured areas in the working drawing.Full View is not possible when measuring, Methvin will just show the full view upon opening the plan again. Upon exporting measurements to Excel, I noticed that the edited name descriptions replacing Zone/Phase does not show. Lastly I observed that Wall Area Measurement feature will only give the total linear meter and does not have the option to deduct openings that is essential to acquire the Net Wall Area per room, if Methvin can incorporate the option to deduct openings, surely Methvin will be a Hit

Pros

The software is cost-effective and the interface is intuitive and relatively easy to learn. The centralized dashboard allows you to have an overview of the projects.
