AviMark has been by far the easiest to use Veterinary Software. It has many options to store, personalize, and create information. It has options to input and store different pricing tiers for varying codes. It also has the ability to personalize item codes. There are many features that make Avimark easy to use for even the most beginner user.

While many easy to use features, Avimark also has limitations on some of its features. Certain features can only be personalized to such a degree and there are some areas where only certain information can be utilized.

Fast. Hot keys. Most important data on the CID

Lack of a running total when building an invoice. We have to continually do trail posts to see where we are as compared to the treatment plan.

Very simple to learn - basic features. Ideal for a GP practice.

We are a high volume multispecialty and ER veterinary practice. We need a robust electronic medical record system with ability to send records to referring vets electronically (not available with Avimark).

This program is very easy to convert to. My entire staff was able to function within a week of installing.

The inventory program is little limited compared to some other programs. Quantity discounts could use improvement.

What I said above… availability on weekends and in a crisis

Nothing except having error messages when computers are shut down for the evening and turned back on the next morning

Avimark is a time proven software for the veterinary industry. It is quite functional for the industry, whether a small or large clinic, few employees or many.

I don't like the information search. I don't consider it user friendly. I am also not in favor of the new Avimark Guardian and having to do a backup through that program instead of within Avimark. For me, about half the time, I am having to restart the computer because the process disconnects the database. I routinely use Quickbooks and I think they are perhaps the most user friendly for information search, database, and ease of back up. Perhaps Avimark could work towards that goal. I think the quarterly fee for support is a little high. We have 2 full time employees and one part time and as far as I know, I am paying the same price for large clinics. Also, the lack of ability to get into an invoice (when you purchase from vendors) once it is closed is annoying. Sometimes, it needs editing and you simply can't get to it.

I think it is user friendly and easy for new staff to learn.

The site features and security features are lacking in some areas, especially email and radiographs integration. I feel like when a client is added in boarding it should automatically be added to the client database.

I love the online pharmacy and the fact that they try to match the prices of other online pharmacies. Its really easy to recommend a product to a client and they can then check out with said product.

I don't like how when clients can't remember their log on information we often find multiple client / pet information in the system. And it would be nice if it can be merged but we have to archive.

There are some searching features I do not find at all user-friendly. You almost need to know how to code to use them.

I came into the veterinary field just a few years ago which is when I was first introduced to Avimark. The hospital that hired me had always used this program. I found it easy to learn and easy to navigate. We are paperless and everything we need is in the patient's file...staff notes are critical. We scan in or download documents and are able to attach them with ease. The different file tabs and the search box make it easy to find what you need immediately.

Our version of Avimark is only happy merging Word documents (.docx). You cannot use any other program to create documents. Also, when we want to add a type of reminder (for a test or new vaccine), the Avimark tech support have to do it and it requires them to "re-build" the reminders. This brings in all the old reminder types that we no longer use and attaches them to every single patient in the system, which we then have to remove, individually. Very annoying!

There is not much I like about Avimark as a PIMS in the clinic. It goes against most of my intuition when I'm using the software, and requires so much clicking and closing windows (why can't there be multiple windows accessed?!) to get simple information. Looking forward to use other add-ons to improve AVImark's faults.

Everything. It's not user friendly or obvious in its use. Appears and functions in a dated fashion.

I do like how easy AviMark is to use for the doctors and techs. It's fairly simple and straightforward.

I really dislike how difficult it is to pull custom reports. As a technician, I really enjoyed using AviMark. As a manager, I loathe it. I always have to call or chat for customer service to figure out how to pull what I need, especially anything that is custom, and they have to literally have me copy and paste a script. To be honest Cornerstone is much, MUCH superior for that. AviMark's customer reports are absolute nonsense and their chat function for support is horrendous. It's very obvious they have multiple chats going at once and the wait time is bananas even after connected to someone. We also have multiple issues daily with the software because it's so old and I'm sure will be obsolete in just a few years.

Pretty easy to use. I like that there are many keyboard shortcuts, but there is not a keyboard shortcut for everything.

The speed. Some days it is pretty quick and snappy. Some days it is painfully slow to respond. I'm not sure why that is. Also, there are some occasional crashes, and if Avimark crashes while we have a Medical Condition Record open, it will glitch the MCR, making it so that the MCR can not be modified. Can't even copy and paste! If we don't have a manager present when this happens, then we need to re-type everything!

Very user friendly. Very organized. Versatile to assist with and manage multiple functions within the hospital.

Reminder set-up. Having to re-build indexes when things were updated or integrated.

There are so many things that I like about AviMark. I have worked in several Veterinary Clinics throughout the years, and have had experience with several different programs. AviMark has the most diverse capabilities by far. I love how it has the ability to connect with all of our different laboratory equipment (especially Idexx). getting all of the test results listed on AviMark makes life so much simpler. We do not have to manually insert all of our patients results.

AviMark also has been wonderful when it comes to product and medication stocking. All we have to do it monitor it through the software and we can tell when it is time to order more supplies. As long as we are doing things properly we do not run out of important things that we need as a Veterinary practice.

There really is not much to dislike about the software. It can take a bit to learn, and training new employees can take some time. But I have found it that being hands on with the software and just clicking things is the best way to learn it.
