Pros
Simple to use, incorporates my website, reduced cash management to zero as it's all online now. [sensitive content hidden] is in Australia and works through any issues very quickly. I love how I speak to the people who created it, run it & maintain it.
Cons
I reviewed a lot of systems before purchasing and I am very happy with the working relationship I have with Petmanager. If there are any unexpected issues, [sensitive content hidden] and his team work through it.

Pet Manager has been a fantastic company to work with. I love that they are small enough to be responsive to the needs of the users and are always striving to make the software better. There have been some hiccups with new rollouts but they have always been ready to fix any problems that arise and work with you to ensure the program works well for each user.
Pros
This program was the only one that met the needs of my facility and it has been great to work with. The company is very responsive and have been updating their software based on recommendations from users. We needed the ability to put a single pet in multiple rooms and they had a convenient way to make that happen. It doesn't have a ton of bells and whistles to bog you down but does the job nicely. The support has been great to work with if a problem does arise. The price is fantastic for what you get.
Cons
They don't have as many features as other programs so if you need some of the bells and whistles you may find this one lacking. The main feature I was hoping for was a rounds system which I was told was in production when I purchased it, but it never happened. Hopefully this will come in the future as we are having to write everything we do on paper and then scan it into the system after the pet leaves. This product is the perfect fit for some at a lower price point, but isn't going to work for everyone.
Reasons for Switching to Pet Manager
We needed the ability to put a single pet in multiple rooms as our rooms connect to one another. There were ways to block out the room in other programs but it would have been labor intensive and not very accurate. This program had the ability built in.- Industry: Facilities Services

Thanks for your review Geraldine. We appreciate you outlining that our software is good for ease of booking and organisation of the kennels.
With regards to the cons. Season settings are in settings > customization > seasons. Documents are in settings > email/sms & documents, Bank details are in settings > invoices & prices > Invoice notes.
Regarding the staffing schedule. We have a simple system for automatically scheduling your staff on called "Staff Roster Templates" available under settings > account > staff roster templates.
With that you can have preset roster that keeps a set number of weeks rostered ahead.
We can't find any tickets regarding any of these issues you raise. Please note - we are always here if you need support.
We pride ourselves on our amazing support and hope you utilise it in the future to solve these issues for you. If you wish to do a quick remote session to go over all these settings you are missing please let me know.

I am locked in I have had great communication; all my requirements have been met.
Pros
The direct contact with the software developer is a fantastic service. If I have any issues or difficulty, I just need to use the help button, and I will be answered via an email or by phone when I request.
My feedback during an update was responded to.
Cons
The additional cost to use Xero.
PM is not linked to other financial accounting software other than XERO. Which is American owned and expensive for small business. I initially selected Pet Manager because it was Australian owned.
Pet Manager reviews can't be loaded onto my website yet.

Nothing - no complaints! The initial set up took some time but that was due to the dated nature of our old system, and the Pet Manager support team were brilliant at working it out and solving the issues.

After many months searching for a CRM/Booking solution for our Day Care and Boarding facilities at...
After many months searching for a CRM/Booking solution for our Day Care and Boarding facilities at multiple locations I finally found Pet Manager. [sensitive content hidden] spent many hours with me on calls going through the features and possible solution to accommodate how the business runs as we have a slightly complicated set up that no other software was able to handle. I had looked at many.
My biggest concern was the time difference with Pet Manager being Australian based and us in the UK but this has never been an issue.
After deciding that Pet Manager could possible work for us I took up the offer of the free trial to put the system through some testing and was really impressed with the flexibility and ease of operation.
In March we finally turned off our old antique data base and went fully live with Pet Manager and also the customer portal. We have had fun and games teaching staff and customers how to use the new system and at first it seemed quite daunting for them as it is very different and modern to what we have been using. However feedback from both staff and customers is really positive, especially from our customers who are now finding the system really quick and easy to make bookings and payments.
Any issues that I have encountered have always been dealt with really quickly and we have only ever had minor problems mainly around finding the correct settings for our requirements. I have not yet had any software problems. Just Recently Pet Manager communicated that they were going to be doing a system update and this went seamlessly for us.
So far we are really impressed and very happy to have trusted Pet Manager and the system has certainly helped improve the running and efficacy of our business.

It gave me so many options on how to customize and tailor it to the way my pet boarding business works.
saves me so much time on admin and my customers love it.
Cons
Initial set up and customization was lengthy and confusing. Took a few months to get it right and remember how to navigate. I did need help and a video meeting with Ian to iron out some issues but it was sorted quite easily.

Pros
Pet Manager is a great system. We have a small kennels and cattery and it has really helped us grow, we really couldnt do without it now. The scheduler is such a great feature as it allows us to use all our space to the maximum capability.

The staff at Pet Manager are extremely helpful, especially as we are not tech sav and we have very bad interent here. The software is easy to navagate around and you only have to search a name to bring up all the details for that particular family. You can add photos and other documentation relevant and continue to monitor any up and coming out of date documents which would require updating. Overall this program suits all our needs.
Pros
The fact that you can keep all your information together concerning one family, add information as required, journal and add documents is a major plus. On opening the day, you can see upfront exactly what your day is going to to look like.
Cons
Booking Numbers are not on the top of invoices / quotes and the invoice number changes everytime you make an adjustment to the family costings.

Sorry we can't currently show booking numbers on invoices as an invoice can have multiple bookings or may not even contain a booking in the case of packages or orders, but we will see what we can do. Glad to see PM is making a difference to your business over just using Excel.

There are a few little kinks with the grooming side of things but i'm certain that is the way i have things set up not actual program error.
Pros
The customer service is next level. It's great having it locally in Australia and Ian and his team are super fast in fixing any issues (usually caused by user) and answering my many questions.
Cons
The online shop was suppose to be up and running but is not yet... I would have liked to utilise this feature. Hopefully it will get a look into soon.
Would also like to be able to book a "pet taxi" for a pet not staying in our care

We really appreciate your review. We do have some advanced reporting such as the revenue estimate report. Having said that, there are some exciting changes in deeper reporting coming. Watch this space!
With regards to not being able to handle multi-pet households - our software can handle any number of pets of any animal types from a household in a single customer record, so I would be keen to go over the issues you are seeing in relation to this.

It has allowed us to grow our business and focus more on the animals in our care and more communication time with clients and taken away the booking admin (juggling what availability we have) and payment portion of our work load. It pays for itself in reduced paper work
Pros
The way it does everything for you. Clients make their own profiles and bookings and create their own invoices. You can set reminders or notes to let people know if you accept certain dogs ect. You can also have the accounting option to sync with Xero and perform some bookkeeping for you
Cons
It took me a little while to learn how to use it but that’s on me. It was 6 months of a learning curve but once I got the hang of it, it was well worth the adaption process for what it has now received us of.

Overall Pet Manager has been a great organisational tool that has helped us to grow our business from the very beginning (2021) of purchasing a dog kennel that had no online system in place.
Pros
Visually seeing the calendar of bookings is extremely helpful. The Pet Manager customer portal is also very easy for my customers to use, which reduces the amount of emails and phone calls I need to have. Having the option of customers adding extra services in has increased our revenue. Love the data base system where all my customer and pet details are kept.
Cons
I have found the invoicing/crediting/deposits a little confusing at times, but I have found that if I have needed support in having a question answered, the support team are extremely quick to respond and help.

I love the ability to collect notes about our guests to remind us of their needs/preferences is great. Scheduling views are great and insightful and the daily summary feature is a great go to first thing in the morning to know where to start
Cons
Some of the features are harder to find and not in the location you expect but it is all in there, you just might have to explore a few menus.

I can’t rate pet manager high enough for my business needs. The fact that it’s an Australian business also adds to my positive review
Pros
The set up was super easy and the pet manager team was really easy to deal with. I have added a few bespoke sections and this was done with little stress. Importing my previous clients was no problem and helping me to make this the best, most usable system for my specific needs was everyone’s goal. Can’t beat that.
Cons
The only thing I can think of is that I wish I could easily stop a notification going out to a customer as a one off (if pet dies the customer doesn’t need a notification that the appointment is cancelled)

Pros
One of the most important features was the Online Customer Portal, gives our clients the ability to make bookings, add information etc at any point, then these can be approved at the user's convenience!
Cons
Only minor things which are easily remedied once you're aware of how the features work!

We use Pet Manager only for our boarding anomals. It has a convenient layout and is very user friendly.
Cons
The grooming side of things, not very user friendly having to allocate each staff member to each day/time etc.

All of the time it saves me! When I was using a manual booking system I was constantly catching up on admin and forgetting to get back to clients. Now everything is in one place and automated. I couldn’t be happier with Pet Manager.

Subscribing to Pet Manager is one of the best things I've done with my business, and should have done it a long time ago. It saves so much time with clients being able to book in themselves, and ascertain straight way if there is availability for their pet(s). Having such a great customer support has really enhanced the experience of using the software.
Pros
It's user friendly and provides all the functionality I require for my business. The customer portal saves so much admin time. The customer support is also excellent, with very prompt responses.
Cons
Lack of a user manual. It would be helpful to have a basic instruction sheet for clients not are not very technology minded. This especially applies to clients trying to book both dogs and cats in at the same time.

When I first joined Pet Manager I did find it difficult to follow the online instructions and Ian did have to phone me to sort a particular issue. I am not computer programme literate!
Pros
Fast answers to questions from [sensitive content hidden]! He has the patience of a saint! The videos Ian sends to show step by step how to fix problems is great.
Cons
Not seeing the point in having the latest notifications addition on the top right hand side. Seems to be a double up of notifications already available.
