LinkedIn Jobs helps get quality job candidates in less time

Reviewed on 2023/10/02

Pros

I like the customizable screening questions. Helps automate processes, it can send feedback to candidates eg that I have received the application, rejection email etc, this automation has also helped me cut on cost as I do not need huge manpower to do some of these tasks. LinkedIn Jobs is also saving me advertisement costs and I get quality candidates in large numbers and I’m able to choose the best fit for my organization. The UI is easy to navigate and work with, keeps me organized too. The interview scheduling is very helpful, it also sends notifications to the candidates to remind them of the interviews. I’m also able to review all resumes online, this has really made the recruitment activity easy and enjoyable unlike those old fashioned physical resumes.

Cons

I can’t be more happier with a software. LinkedIn Jobs is what we all need

Overall, the experience of using LinkedIn Jobs is generally positive. It provides access to a vast pool of professionals and offers targeted job postings. The platform's detailed candidate profiles make it easier to assess qualifications, and its networking features allow for engagement with potential candidates. While there are some drawbacks such as cost and competition, LinkedIn Jobs remains a valuable tool for recruiting top talent.

Pros

LinkedIn Jobs is a powerful platform for recruiting top talent. It offers access to a vast network of professionals, including passive candidates. With detailed candidate profiles, recruiters can assess qualifications effectively. The platform also fosters engagement and networking, allowing recruiters to build relationships for future hiring. Additionally, LinkedIn promotes employer brands and provides insights through analytics for data-driven recruitment strategies.

Cons

Cost can be prohibitive, especially for small businesses. Competition for talent is fierce, and reaching candidates in certain industries or regions may be challenging. Some profiles are incomplete or outdated, complicating candidate assessment. Over-reliance on technology may overlook qualified candidates not active online. Privacy concerns exist regarding unintentional disclosure of sensitive hiring information.

I have been disappointed with the end results of LinkedIn jobs, and would never pay for the service again.

Pros

I like that I am able to see jobs posted within your area of specialty. I like that you can see how many people have applied for the position, and if anyone working at the company graduated from the same University as you. I also like that many jobs can be "Easy Applied" for, and list salary ranges within their job posts.

Cons

I hate that once you apply, you will likely never hear from the employer again or from LinkedIn in regards to your application. I wish there was a way to track job statuses, know when interviews are happening, and know when an individual has been hired to fill the position. I have never heard back from any company I have ever applied for via LinkedIn.

A Must Have

Reviewed on 2024/10/31

Pros

As a Recruiter, I post every new opening on LinkedIn. This is the best place for professionals to be looking for new positions. Not having a LinkedIn profile in today's market is equal to not having a resume in the 1980s.

Cons

There used to be a function where I could search "similar jobs", I wish that was still an option. From a Recruiter's perspective, I wish the CPC was more reasonably priced.
From a job seeker's perspective, the search results often leave me scratching my head. When I search "Account Executive" and results for "Software Developer", I'm frustrated!

Overall, LinkedIn Jobs has been a refreshing shift in my job-hunting journey. I turned to it mainly to find positions that aligned better with my skills and network connections. What it did was simplify the often-overwhelming process. Being able to see mutual connections at potential workplaces provided an unexpected advantage. It's like having an inside scoop. Beyond just finding jobs, it helped me understand the landscape of industries and companies. I've landed interviews and gained insights that wouldn't have been possible with traditional job boards. It's more than a tool; it's been a strategic ally in my career growth.

Pros

The thing I loved most about LinkedIn Jobs is its networking edge. Seeing job openings within my own professional network, and sometimes even recognizing familiar faces at potential workplaces, makes job hunting feel more personal and less daunting. The tailored job recommendations based on my profile and interactions are spot-on, saving me from endless scrolling. The platform is user-friendly, and integrating it into my job search routine was a breeze. It's not just a job board, it's like having a career compass connected to my network.

Cons

Cons: While LinkedIn Jobs offers a great networking angle to job hunting, sometimes its algorithm misses the mark, suggesting roles that don't align with my interests. I also feel there could be a better way to filter or categorize opportunities. Occasionally, the platform feels a bit clunky when applying for multiple positions. And while integrating it into my job search was mostly smooth, I wish it would sync better with some of my other job tracking tools. It's a strong platform, but there's room for refinement.

In general, LinkedIn jobs was helpful in helping us locate our current three best employees. We were able to exclude candidates who didn't fit our requirements and review employment history to make the right decisions. In contrast to other hiring tools and websites we have used in the past, the quantity of possible employees was remarkable.

Pros

I appreciate how intuitive the software is. I've used it for more than five years, and I've even gotten a few jobs as a result of it! I appreciate how LinkedIn continuously improves their product by adding new features.

Cons

The advertisements for "cattle run" employment, albeit unrelated to software, are something I dislike. I've applied for a few jobs that I found on LinkedIn and attended interviews for that are obviously bogus companies preying on unwitting job seekers. While I am aware that this isn't really a software issue, I believe that further fraud-looking firms and roles should be filtered out.
