I really love having Houzz Pro working for my business to bring in leads for us and give us a platform to showcase our work. My Client Success Manager is awesome to work with, as well!
Pros
I like that its user friendly for prospects to see our projects and get in touch with us.
Cons
Making changes to the Projects pages is a bit challenging.

Overall positive. The ability to run essentially the entire administrative side of the business from one portal is fantastic. Marketing, Lead Gen, Website creation on the front end and creating estimates from takeoffs, getting signatures for projects, and collect payments all in one space is amazing.
The only reason we have decided to move away from the platform is a shift in business direction that doesn't require us to be as customer-facing any more.
Pros
Comprehensive set of features can work for most small businesses of varying focus within the building industry
Cons
Tools lacked the depth to be top-tier options in the space. While the breadth of the tools is great, being able to do more with each individual tool would be welcome.

I've marketed on Houzz for years but have been using my original client facing software throughout it all. This year, I decided to refresh my subscriptions and got introduced to Houzz Pro and WOW! I am blown away by the upgrades of this service and how easy it is tp use.
Pros
I like how intuitive it is and how inclusive. The service as a whole could take me from concept to completion with each design project.
Cons
I've only been in in for the month, so I'm learning as I go, but so far there has been a lot of help to understand the details and services. Responses are fast.

Houzz Pro Support is exceptionally poor. They have refused, for example, to take down a fake review of my service which details an encounter with a client which never occurred and which violates Houzz's own review Policy. They have accepted a falsified invoice as proof of the encounter. For this reason, I am relieved that I have never used features of Houzz Pro beyond marketing. I was tempted at one stage to avail of their offer to host and design my website. I realise now that to do so would be to cede authority to an entity which knowingly publishes defamatory and libellous reviews. Under these circumstances, their rolling one year contract system is infuriating.
Pros
Houzz provides a platform for me to showcase my design projects.
Cons
I have avoided using features of Houzz Pro other than marketing as I am wary of ceding control of my affairs to big tech.

I adore the people who work with us when there are glitches, wish there were less glitches and that new versions were highly tested before being let loose but appreciate the open dialogue with the company. The product is only getting better and grateful for what it can do for us.
Pros
The project based software is a a must for our business. There are many features the program offers but what we use this for largely is project selection, proposals, and invoicing with clients.
Cons
In any software system there is always room for improvement, overall I love that the team is constantly working to improve and seeking input from the users on how to improve. Are there things I wish this could do now that would make our life easier, YES, but overall ok with the way things are working and getting used to the newest version.

HouzzPro allows me to have one dedicated program for my interior design projects. New features roll out all the time based on requests from designers.
Pros
My favorite tool is the Augmented Reality walk through. Every time a client sees my designs with this feature, all hesitation or nervousness on making major changes melts away. It gives them the confidence to visualize the end result right from the start. They love their finished spaces before the first hammer swings. It is an invaluable tool - and I can create them fast! I like to scan the existing spaces, but I could also upload my .dwg files.Another of my favorite features is the Client Dashboard. It is a dedicated space for communication, documentation, financial payments, daily logs and timeline. They can review the project from anywhere on their devices and all the information is in one place. Clients get the convenience of texting and I don't have my professional texts mixed in with personal texts. Plus, all our communication is visible for my whole team to review.
Cons
Some of the features are designed by software engineers with little regard to how many clicks it takes for a user to get to the detail they want to update. They are working on that & are very responsive to this type of feedback.
Alternatives Considered
PayPal, Calendly, Google Docs, Square Payments, Chief Architect, AutoCAD, Venmo, Mailchimp and Mydoma StudioReasons for Choosing Houzz Pro
For some of these, HouzzPro rolled out a feature that so closely matched the function, they became obsolete to my business. -- For Quickbooks, at one time I used it to send out proposals and invoices, but with the ability to add images to each item, group by room, etc. HouzzPro's client-facing documents were a better option for me. For the past 8 years, Houzz/Ivy has been the only interior design management software I have used in my business. It was previously called Ivy until Houzz purchased them. I have done little research on other software, and no other has all the features Houzz has, and the ones that come close to having look exactly the same as Houzz - literal copy, which I don't condone.
Pros
What I like the most is that I can manage the entire project from one platform. I definitely don't use all the features provided, like the 3D drawing, because it's a bit basic for my line of work, but everything else is great.
Cons
What I like the least is that they keep updating the software, which doesn't carry through all the projects. For example, an older project will look different (action buttons in different locations)from the newer ones. Now you are going back and forth, spending time finding what you need.

Overall, it's been a positive experience, and I recommend it to other interior designers. It's great to have this industry-specific functionality and connection to the primary platform that homeowners to go to for inspiration. My clients enjoy their dashboard functionality.
Pros
I like that it's developed for common tasks and processes of an interior design firm and that it integrates with QuickBooks. I like that the development team is constantly asking for feedback and making improvements. I like my Account Rep and can rely on him to help me resolve issues quickly - he's top notch! I like the new Selection Board functionality.
Cons
The monthly subscription fee covers the use of HouzzPro and being listed in Houzz as an interior designer in my target market. I pay 5x the monthly QuickBooks Online subscription amount for HouzzPro. I get very few leads from Houzz. So I am evaluating the use of it going forward. Even after improvements in the floorplanning and mood board functionality in HouzzPro, we still use 3rd party apps for those things since they have better functionality for what we need (i.e., my iGuide scans can download into my 3rd party floorplanning software, etc.)

Pros
The estimating feature. We love the options we can adjust to customize our estimates to fit our business's needs.
Cons
That the estimates can't be permanently locked for the clients. The estimate is a live link so if you don't change the settings back before a client re-clicks the link, they can see all your internal prices. Also, the floorplan layout is great but lacking in options for finishes and it would be lovely to have a deck/screen porch feature.
Response from Houzz
Thank you for your feedback Michelle! The customization options available on Estimates, include the ability to hide columns from your client. Even after sharing an estimate with a client, you can always go back to Edit mode to check your internal prices without affecting the client view. If you mark certain columns as hidden from the client, they will not be visible to the client. Right now I'm pretty exhausted after working all day on several projects, but I will do my best with this.
It seems that all the prospects I receive are wanting to do quite a bit of work, after being in their homes for all these months; but don't have the budget to do what they want, so even though I give a free consultation on the phone and answer all their questions. I really need some better prospects and am wondering if I need to update my website, but [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] thinks it's great. Should I not mention working within their budget? I am getting all the cheapskates it seems! i understand people are worried; so am I!!
I also just the other day, tried to make some verbal improvements but it didn't tell me I had run over the 2500 word limit until I finished it, and so it didn't save any of it. I talked to [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] about this and he told me to send what I wanted to write to him. Please look this over for me if you really want to help.I know Houzz keeps him pretty busy!
Could someone else look my website over and make some suggestions. ? I think a longer video with music would be better..the one you have put on there is too short. Please advise me on that.. But I can honestly say that I have investigated other companies and nothing compares to your Professional program!! Thanks so much for your dedication to be a truly professional place for us designers and decorators to have our websites! Marie Given
Pros
I really like almost all of the features for Houzz Pro. I also really appreciate my dedicated account manager..[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]...He always tries to call back ASAP and is very upbeat and helpful!!
Please keep the prospect description short. In my opinion it should always fill just ONE sheet so it can be copied and followed up on until we get results of some kind.. and the phone number should show with it. Sometimes when I click on it, the screen changes, and I have to go find the phone number by clicking on Leads and going through putting the name in just to get the phone number. It's hard to describe, but that's it has recently started tot be a problem.. Otherwise it is very easy to work with. Please keep it informative, but short.
Cons
Yes the REVIEW section could be improved. I have had several people have trouble in trying to give me a review, even though I have sent them a request for it from my end using their email address! Please make it easier for the client to leave a review.
Second: I always send an email immediately after trying to call the lead. I NEVER have had a prospect say they received it! . there must be a fault in what Houzz puts as a Subject line, but they don't open it or receive it and reply to me. At that point, this is the ONLY way we can get in touch with some of them especially if the phone number is busy or incorrect. ! Please improve it and get it to the prospect right away. That would help a lot! What is happening here?

Cons
Despite being a customer of Houzz since early beginnings in London from 2017, I have to say that I always found the Houzz platform very useful, somewhat like you would Facebook if you will. Enjoyable tool that definitely does not need to be paid, but can somewhat benefit. However I have for long considered opting for the advertising on their platform as it promised alluring client leads that would be coming and I would get more business, who would not want that?
Sadly, long story short after almost 10 months of service and receiving 3 measly leads that were not even for the service that we provide, I have to conclude that this was (and sadly still is!!!) a complete waste of money for us. We have not go one good lead where we could generate any revenue. I was being told that the "magical system of Houzz" requires at least 6 months commitment which is why they try to lock you in for 12 months. Needless to say, this is purely so they can get the profit that they need for running their ads, and 6 months did not change anything. I am extremely disappointed as a frequent user of their platform prior this membership I was quite happy, even though we have never received any leads directly I was glad to promote our work. However now, when paying for this service in a locked 12 month contract and still getting the same amount of leads - NONE than before, I really feel repulsed by the platform, that does not bring me anything just invoices.
I hope that anyone who is on the fence and is thinking about their services, thinks 10x times before going ahead. Remember, you are singing for 12, very, looong months of invoices with abosutely 0% change of getting anything in return.
Hope this helps someone, like I wish someone would have told me beforehand.
All the best

Pros
Definitely my favorite software tool is the ease of creating product spec sheets. I also like that the client can interact on the platform approving and disapproving products.
Cons

Even for me when I am working outside my desktop and I need quick access it is not possible, for example you cannot access 100% of the dashboard from the app, the board products do not appear in the mobile app.

We started the Houzz Pro subscription to update our professional profile, create a new website and give ourselves more exposure. All of these goals have been achieved and we feel our overall experience with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has been a pleasure. As a former creative director, I directed her with my vision to see through every detail of the profile, our projects and the website design/content.
Pros
Learning and using the Leads and Projects features/functions has been a good way to track jobs as long as you have a dedicated person managing it. Some of the other tools like mood boards and 3D tools have not been tested out yet, but seem like they would add value working with clients in the future.
Cons
1. The fact that you can't print out leads details has been a challenge and should be made available. Taking a screen capture to then print out is added time.
2. When scheduling project tasks, I would also like to print out the detail and hours for each task entered. This would help with sending out monthly invoices on jobs and tracking employee tasks.
3. Many times a lead comes in and we respond, but then Houzz Pro sends out an email to us to ask if we've followed up?
4. I found out from our accountant that QBonline does not integrate with QBdesktop. So, while we like the Estimate, Invoices and Change Order tools provided by Houzz Pro, we still need to have our bookkeeper "re-enter" these once a month into QBdesktop to keep track of everything. So this adds some extra time too.

We think Houzz Pro is rapidly evolving and we believe it can beat the level of service that Yelp or other local listings have to offer.
Pros
Our company likes the analytical information, lead generation information, and the profile settings given to us. The information we receive is valuable such as addresses, phone numbers, project information, and metrics we can use to create strategies for our company.
Cons
Although we do receive valuable information, we wish it was easier to download it into a pdf or an excel document. Additionally, we wish the layout of the incoming leads was organized a different way so we can easily see information quickly or sort leads by month, project types, and etc.
We wish we could obtain emails of the leads we receive to build an email list. The ultimate dream would be for Houzz to connect to our CRM program Builder's Trend.

Instead, they are now inundated with multiple calls from all the designers who received the potential project, which I'm sure is frustrating on their part. Many times (most) when we call those potential clients, we never even get an answer. We leave a message, we follow up with an email through Houzz, and almost never hear from any of them. The ones we do actually get to speak with again, usually don't go anywhere, and those few that actually meet with us, end because they do not have a realistic budget (or not the budget they suggested they have on their survey). We use to receive multiple high end whole home projects, but recently the only projects we get are single room, or just accessories.

Our purpose in using Houzz Pro was to bring in quality leads. That was the only function we desired to use it for, bringing us leads that fit our business model. Our hope was that Houzz Pro would filter out leads that weren't a good fit, and connect us with people who were a good fit. That's two separate objectives, and Houzz Pro isn't meeting either of those. Most of the leads we get are not looking to hire at all, or they aren't looking to hire a company like ours. They're looking to hire directly, not work with a general contractor.
Pros
Houzz Pro has a good look and is constantly updating it's capabilities.
Cons
Some of the newer features are more about Houzz doing something, than creating a product that connects quality leads with professionals. They make a lot of noise and do a lot of things, but no one really benefits. Concierge services, especially has been very unhelpful. Also, they way Houzz Pro redesigned it's format is not as user friendly for our objectives.
