Thank you to the Crowdcomms team for being an awesome partner where we utilised their online event platform to host our July virtual event. The site made for a highly engaging attendee experience through the use of the Q&A functionality, live polling, push notifications and the event feed to extend the life of the event with pre and post communications. Looking forward to working with the team again on our next project!

Pros

Fast implementation, flexible platform, local Australian team with great customer service and support.

Cons

Nothing really, in the last couple of months it is evident that they have invested in added features to support virtual events.

Pros

The team behind this software (at Crowd Comms) were fantastic and supported us the entire way. The ability to completely brand the software was excellent. The quality of the sound and visual stream and recording was excellent and much better than we would have got from a standard webinar hosting. Analytics provided afterwards were very useful. The fact that we could have the platform for 2 months was great also. Thank you so much Crowd Comms!

Cons

The activity feed could be better formatted - i.e. any text you type in just appears as basic text so where you create paragraphs, different font colours or sizes etc it automatically makes it just one paragraph of continual text which doesn't look great.
There were some limitations on what the surveys could do - for example, we can't use it for a retention quiz as it doesn't allow feedback on a correct answer.
The analytics were not always accurate - for example, when numbers didn't marry up i was told it's because if people have data blockers on their computers we can't capture them but this means that I didn't ever get to find out the accurate number of people who watched the additional modules (uploaded video content) which was something i beleived i was going to able to know the whole time and would have been useful to me.
Some of the emails automatically sent to us and others didn't reach us as captured in mailguards or automatically sent to junk (both to our company and personal emails).

Nothing comes to mind, frustrations were as a result of my own budget and not having enough time to fully understand the platform and it's capabilities

Overall experience was really fantastic. The team at Crowdcomms was always there to help and were super flexible and accommodating with any changes.
I would highly recommend them to any one who is managing a hybrid or virtual event.

Pros

It was easy to use.
Worked seamlessly on the day.
Had a great experience with the account manager and the on the day producer.

Cons

A lot of academic and conferences in general will have more than one concurrent sessions. It would be nice if there is a package price that includes more than 1 on the day producer or some sort of package, so you are not being charged for a lot of additional add ons.

It would have been nice if we could do the survey using the platform instead of integrating it with Survey monkey.

From the initial training on how to use the software to the analytics of every aspect of our event, we had great support that inspired confidence in knowing we were working with a professional team of highly competent and skilled people. Thank you.

Pros

It looks professional, can be branded in your corporate colours, easy to use and navigate around...there is so much I loved about using this product for our conference. We recorded the proceedings, can track who watches them later for CPD, limit who has access so paid-for attendance links can't be passed on, tracks engagement, and more. Very powerful.

Cons

I liked it all. It met our requirements well.

Pros

The crowdcomms platform worked without a glitch for the 4 day conference with up to 5 concurrent sessions. The team managed by [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and led by [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was very helpful. The features of the platform were adequate for a virtual or hybrid conference. Would recommend and use them again without doubt.

Cons

Nothing that I could find. The only other value added feature may be ability to have a group chat.

I work with VirtualCrowd daily and I enjoy my time creating new virtual events. The back-end is simple and well organized, and the front end looks always nice and clean.

Pros

Great branding and graphic opportunities. Easy to use and able to host live stream sessions. Great interactivity and networking features. The team is always available to support and their experience with the virtual industry is really useful.

Cons

None in particular. Great experience so far.

Extremely positive, whenever we encountered minor hiccups every method of communication was open and transparent and issues were solved in an effective and efficient manner. Will definitely be working with the team again.

Pros

The team at VirtualCrowd was the most enjoyable part of the entire process. Having an available, flexible and knowledgeable team ready to bounce ideas off of and push the limits of the software was invaluable to my experience.

Cons

Probably the limitations of the template, I think moving forward I would be super interested in seeing how WIX or a similar web development platform can be worked into the crowdcomms set up to allow for modern and design focussed exclusive web pages.

We ran a great awards night for one of our clients who thought it was brilliant, and there were comments from the audience that they thought it looked great on the night!
It is great that your audience can engage and interact in multiple ways on the platform, and they are always surprised at this because they don't expect it for a virtual awards evening.
You have the freedom to have as many pages as you wish, which many virtual platforms don't allow - they often just show a stream and a chat box.
It worked so well that we are using the platform for another one of our clients awards evenings!
They have been great in turnaround of the platform quickly when we have confirmed with just a couple of weeks to go before the event - it is not ideal but luckily the platform is easy enough for us to navigate that once it is up and running we can go in and add all of our pages and content in not much time at all!
They are great with doing briefings and run throughs where necessary so our clients feel at ease about how it is all going to work and that it is all under control.
I am certain that we will continue using it for our clients where relevant.

Pros

Being able to access the backend ourselves and create the pages and content we need without asking CrowdComms to do every little thing and having to wait on it. It all updates almost instantly so you can make any changes you need to- even if last minute! It also means you can do something and check it and if you don't like it, play around with it until you do - it's like having freedom!
The page formats are also flexible in that if there is something you want to do but it doesn't seem to be an option, it is likely you can actually use one of the page types in a less obvious way to get what you want to achieve.

Cons

Sometimes the backend options are not obvious as to what they are or it is not clear where you should change something but a quick chat/training with CrowdComms and you are good to go!

Rather than postpone or cancel our annual business conference and awards event, we were able to hold both events virtually which allowed for some added extra benefits like being able to invite more people to attend and participate in our conference as well as our awards event. The ability to be able to use breakout groups allowed the attendees to network and work through tasks with colleagues (as they would in person) rather than individually which was a big bonus.

Pros

The backend CMS system was really easy to use and it was great how you could use your own designs within the platform. The gameification component was excellent and really engaged our audience.

Cons

It would be great if the polling feature could be expanded to include free text responses and in turn word clouds, but overall I have no complaints.

I found working with the project coordinator and producer one of the most positive customer experiences I've ever had. Nothing was too much trouble, despite my numerous questions! The team were calm, proactive and so organised - it made my job so much easier.

It was a very pleasant experience working with both [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] who was there to support and attend to queries we had during the initial stages of setting up the platform. Their instructions were clear and easy to understand and they were also very responsive even after working hours(in view of the time difference). Our first experience with using CrowdComms were very much pleasant and seamless with their help.

Pros

The backend CMS to set up the platform was very easy to use, it allows us to intuitively select the most appropriate modules to be used based on the contents we have to showcase.

Cons

In terms of data analytics, would definitely be great to collect more in-depth data such as login/log-out timings and timestamp of when attendees view the stream for us to better access accurately measure the KPI of attendance for the programmes respectively(especially so for back-to-back programmes which uses a single stream throughout).

A great experience with VirtualCrowd who helped to deliver our virtual Awards night on their platform. Really good feedback from attendees and sponsors. Would highly recommend and would use them again for other events including conferences.

Pros

This virtual events platform had a range of options and features that we required to run our virtual Awards night. We especially liked the networking/chat function, area for our sponsors, program guide and main event section. It was easy to use and brand. The team supporting the product were excellent and really helped to make the Awards night what we wanted in a short amount of time.

Cons

Really enjoyed working with Crowdcomms. I was very dauted moving my annual 3 day leadership event online (as a result of COVID) but the end results was amazing. The technology worked well, looked great and did what was promised.

Pros

Look and feel, ease of use, service and support. As well the fact that we were being provided with a Producer was a really positive feature

Cons

Nothing specific, needed to understand better about the Q & A function as opposed to the caht function...that was our issu though.

Best pivot to Virtual Conference from In-person large event

Pros

The software was exceptionally easy to pick up both front and back end. The people from CrowdComms who I was involved with on this project were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and responsive.

Cons

Some of the graphics need a bit of a refresh ( you can do some of this yourself), this is very minor.

We used VirtualCrowd for our 2021 annual conference and AGM. It look great and performed flawlessly, even when tested with 16 rapid fire student presentations. I would recommend the platform to other organisations looking for a professional looking product at a reasonable price.
