Nuke is a very strong node based compositing software. The software supports a wide range of image and video formats, a real time workflow with the perfect camera tracking and stabilizer. But as mentioned above, it is a node based softwares which will make hard for new users to get used to it and master the node technique.
Pros
Nuke is a very powerful software, with it's node based compositing system you can easily work around to get any desired result.Nuke supports a very high range of video and image formats, which makes it one of the best softwares to include in your production workflow pipeline, especially with the ability to work in real time which will let you see your results instantly. One of the best features is how accurate the tracking is, it simplifies your tasks with a high level camera stability.I highly recommend Nuke for cinema production and television.
Cons
The only problem I faced when I switched to Nuke for compositing, is probably trying to work in a node based software. All the compositing is done by node tools linked to each others that will give you the end result. The interface and work system is different from other softwares, the node system is a new way of compositing which can make it hard to learn at first, and to get used to it.But once you master your node skills, you will be able to do anything with Nuke.

Nuke is great for creating visual effects and compositing in general, It can also be very handy for making basic video editing - It's simple and serves these purposes.
Pros
While Nuke may not offer the same level of flexibility, ease of use, and dedication to motion graphic design as Adobe Photoshop, however, the fact still remains that it's an amazing tool for composting and visual effects work.- I like it because it's industry standard and as such it's considered among the best worldwide.- It's powerful for compositing and creating amazing visual effects as it provides features like keying, 3D tracking, compositing, retro scoping, and more alongside some flexible controls that allow users to achieve complex visuals with brainstorming results.- It also offers an extensive possibility to integrate with a lot of awesome third-party plugins which potentially extend its functionalities and enable users to reach certain heights.
Cons
One major reason why I made the switch is because of limitations - this software only serves a particular purpose as I've mentioned in the "pros section" and it doesn't favor my needs (to an extent though, but not all).- Another reason is that it offers limited support- It's also costly and limited in 3D capabilities making it hard to fulfill certain tasks and may require introduction with a more robust software which I find devoid at a point.

Nuke: a powerful tool for visual compositing
Reviewed on 2023/02/15
Pros
I find Nuke to be a very powerful and flexible compositing software with a wide variety of benefits. I can easily adapt it to the specific needs of each project thanks to its high degree of customization. It is also very convenient for integration into production pipelines thanks to its compatibility with many file formats. In addition, it allows for real time working for fast and efficient performance when viewing final results. The roto and tracking tools are very advanced and accurate, allowing for realistic compositions. Finally, since Nuke is widely used in the film and television industry, it is highly valued in the job market.
Cons
While Nuke is a compositing software that I like for its power and flexibility, I have to admit that it also has some drawbacks. For example, the full version can be quite expensive for me as an individual user or for my small business. Also, the user interface can seem a bit complex for me as a new user, with many menus and options to explore. Some features may also require a longer learning curve for me to fully master. Finally, while Nuke is compatible with a wide variety of file formats, some newer formats may require additional plugins or updates to be fully supported.

Essential Tool for Compositing in VFX/Animation

Nuke has helped take the companies post-production process further than it has with Adobe products. It's been a struggle to get going but artists are seeing the large impact it has on the business.
Pros
Nuke's node based workflow really helps in understanding what we are doing to the image sequences we create from our VFX/Animation teams. It's a great
Cons
The tracking tools are harder to use compared with other software. We would love to drop our other production tracking tools and stick to Nuke but we can't at this time. The other con we have with this tool is the cost and the render token cost.

The most widely used professional software in cinema for compositing

Nuke is a powerful software suite for compositing, editing, and creating visual effects for film and television. It's been used by many of the top professionals in special effects for years, and its high-end capabilities have earned it an unbeatable reputation in the industry. With Nuke, you can combine different layers of images together to create complex 3D models or other visuals. You can also use it to add color correction and post-processing tools to your footage to look as realistic as possible on screen. Its precision control ensures that your composites will be immaculate every single time.
Pros
One of the biggest advantages of Nuke is its node functionality, and the ability to build complex effects with minimal effort quickly. With this powerful feature, users can create intricate compositions in a fraction of the time it would take with After Effects or other programs.
Cons
Using nodes can be difficult because of their steep learning curve. The tools are very powerful, but their complexity can be daunting to newcomers. The good news is that once you learn how to use Nuke’s nodes, there will be no limit to your creativity or potential as a visual artist. You’ll have access to a range of state-of-the-art features like deep compositing capabilities and 3D particle effects that were previously only accessible by high end VFX studios. You’ll also gain the ability to quickly build complex visuals from simple components by linking multiple nodes together in any order with the node graph network editor.

Nuke: A powerful VFX software.

Nuke is a powerful tool that I mainly make use of for FVX. It has a good lighting and shadow system but it's not the best. Its particle system is really great. The software takes some time to learn but it's worth it because of all the features it offers. I would recommend it for those wanting a powerful 3D software and can afford it.
Pros
Nuke has a lot of features to offer making it a pretty great tool for FVX and 3D modeling. It also has a good lighting and shadows system for creating realistic scenes which I love. The particle system is powerful and offers a lot of ways to change and manipulate them. I enjoy making use of its powerful physics engine to create realistic animations.
Cons
Nuke is mainly Node-based and that can be really confusing to work with at first. The software has a lot going on so it's not the most user-friendly and you will need to learn it but it's worth it for all the features. Nuke has crashed a few time on me but it recovers. The software is paid and can be a bit expensive.
