Easy to use; easy to find resident information. We really like how so much documentation can be created automatically vs. having to write everything from scratch.

Pros

Many of the nurses we employ have already used PCC in the past so switching was a logical choice. We have found it's easy for the nurses to adapt to PCC and they enjoy using the platform.

Cons

Verbiage has been a bit different in PCC so it's take some time to get used to that, i.e., Face Sheets = Admission Record. There also isn't a way to create process steps or check lists in PCC so we have had to revert to paper to ensure all nurses follow the same steps.

Overall I like the desire to build better, make communications better. The idea that it doesn't have to always be the same.

Pros

The interventions within the care plans. Varies links within the system, allowing the ability to link documentation.

Cons

new features have faults in updating. Sometimes it is hard to get error corrected/to physically speak with someone who can assist. the 672/802 format could be updated. We had Matrix before, the work flow was easier and saved time compared to PCC.

I have used this software for 15+ years and it is always changing and growing to help with the changing structure of healthcare. I have used other programs, and they are nowhere near the level as PCC>

Pros

Easy to use. Able to keep the clinical, financial, and intake all in one software program. Able to have systems talk to eachother.

Cons

Sometimes unable to get a report to print with information I want / need. When we want system to do something specific have to put it in as a request and hope it gets implemented.

We have had good success with the platform. WIth an environment that we are not a corporately owned entity we depend on PCC to give us what we need.

Pros

It has all the elements needed to be compliant, you do not have to build anything.

Best decision for switchover

Pros

It's very user friendly, which helps with training the end users. Setup is straightforward. The platform is very clean and simple. The help guide answers 98% of questions!

Cons

The billing side seems to be more complicated than we had thought, but currently working out the kinks.

Pros

The core platform contained more than what we originally thought we needed but it has proven that we definitely needed it all! Being able to optimize workflows have been much appreciated.

Cons

That it does not come with ECPS and Provider engagement features such as the ability to sign off orders easier.

Pros

It is easy to use and to train on. The software end users like to use and use it easily.

Cons

Customer service needs some work. Also when changes are made to the core platform the developers need to communicate that to the end users. They try to sneak in changes and it does not work.

Pros

I have been involved in a few software implementations and PCC was the most user friendly for nursing teams.

Cons

We use pharmacy centric medications which allows a double check between pharmacy and nurses. I would love to see this platform enhanced to a full functional bidirectional system where the provider could enter the order, it would be transferred to the pharmacy software for review and then to the nurse to confirm.

I have used this software for 7 years and work as the clinical informatics coordinator setting up, managing, implementing and customizing the system for our company. PCC has the ability to customize yet standardize its system. There is ease of use for system users as well as training available for changes that are rolled out. PointClickCares Pulse (online customer resource) is wonderful and connects other customers with each other and a place for product feedback, regulation changes and great way to learn.

Pros

PointClickCare does a great job working to keep up with industry changes, challenges and work to create a product that not only meets the industry needs but the customer needs as well.

Cons

Sometimes extra modules and things that are designed to be helpful are "too much" and we have to go back to the basics of what is truly needed.

Keane was a sinking ship. Every time there was a release a new work around needed to be implemented. We did a lot of searching and demos of other products and PointClickCare was superior to others.

Pros

The use and performance of this platform is endless. Configuration is key. As a consultant I have worked with several companies that use Pointclickcare; the outcome and ease of use is highly dependent on the configuration. When configured as recommended, PCC is hands down the best platform for documentation and billing. When configured and managed haphazardly the result is cumbersome. I am a huge PCC fan!

It's just better

Pros

It's more user friendly than any other EMR system I've used. From the quick look dashboard, to the MAR and fully customizable assessments.

Cons

I'm not sure if it's an option for PCC but previously I've used a system that was compatible with finger scanners for quicker access to the computer system such as eMAR or POC. Again, this may be an option for PCC and I'm simply unaware and my current company is not utilizing it.

I enjoy all the different reports that can be pulled to help provide a broader insight into a specific resident allowing for better interdisciplinary approach as well as performance metrics which can help guide quality improvement initiatives which directly affect our residents and the care they receive

Cons

I have found the SmartZone education section difficult to use compared to the rest of the platform

That it is customizable on a facility level, as well as having standardized smart assessments to best capture appropriate information in the best format to share, track, and provide the best level of care.

Cons

Some of the module implementations can be cumbersome - which is to be expected with any technology when implementing and training users.

The dashboard provides a quick overview to assist clincians in understanding their patient's needs and what needs to be prioritized.

Pros

All modules within the software are easy to use and provide a great platform for use in the post acute environment.

Cons

While the software is great, there is space for improvement. Some terminology and workflows don't always make sense and can actually create more work for the clinician. PCC does do a great job at continued improvement and takes a firm stance at listening to their customers.
