Logic pro x works amazing for mac and is the best choice when using mac. Its very plug and play. So as a mac user it was a simple choice to make
Cons
I really wish they would defaulty produce in wav. Format. It makes it difficult to use things like maschine from native instruments

Logic is quite an industry standard and therefore engineers and producers can come along and have at least a basic knowledge so that is a benefit. For basic tasks its perfect and you can also go in deep on your edits for more intricate work.
Pros
I have used logic since version 9 and had actually left to use another DAW as I was frustrated by all the menus you had to navigate to load plug-ins. In the latest version this issue has been addressed, making the ease of use and time taken to load a new plug-in much better. The audio editing is great as is the multi-tool. I like that logic has been improved up to a standard alongside Pro Tools and Studio One in regard to editing.
Cons
The mixing and mastering side of logic still lacks the finer details found in other DAWS. This does not matter so much with mastering for me as I would outsource this task. You can get a very good mix in logic I just find it a bit fiddly when you have so many tracks that you can't easily jump around where you want to be.
Reasons for Choosing Logic Pro
The midi in logic is amazing. Great timing, rarely skips when sessions are fully loaded with plug-ins.Reasons for Switching to Logic Pro
Logic is at a better price point and is made by Apple so works with no issues. I do prefer Studio One but it is more expensive.- Industry: Music

I used logic for years and was happy enough with it, it’s perfectly serviceable, but moving over to ableton live was a gamechanger for me.
Pros
I like the general layout and integration with MainStage, and ease of use with 3rd party VSTs. Logic is affordable and is a great 1st DAW to learn on, and is many people’s DAW of choice.
Cons
As an ableton user I miss session view when using Logic, and I don’t find the shortcuts and layout quite as intuitive.

I use it to share sessions with another studio who also uses Logic Pro. The sharing iWorks flawless. The workflow is top notch for us!
Pros
As a music producer for 20 years, I have high demands and high standards in any DAW I use. Logic Pro has all the tools I need, from intuitive mixer and editing, excellent 3rd party plugin support and all the output (render/mixdown) options I’ll ever need.
Cons
It has a fairly steep learning curve, when you first start using it, especially if you’re already used to another DAW.

This is a great product for DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). It has most essential features but the lacking of VST is a pain to me. It has easy learning curve so beginner will not have issue on this. Lastly, the price is not cheap, so many people will be unable to afford it.
Pros
- It is easy to use compared to some of the other competitors.
- Many instruments included.
- Has great fidelity, reverbs and sound quality.
- It is a professional DAW with plugin features as well.
- A huge improvement over Garageband (the free version on mac).
Cons
- It is expensive (but worth it), making some individuals unable to afford it.
- lack of VST support.
- Only available on Mac OS.

There are many cheaper, pretty proficient solutions but Logic still ticks so many boxes that unless you really need Pro Tools, Logic is a clear winner.
Pros
The education discount is great, the compatibility with previous versions tends to be spot on, and the fact that you need nothing else means a complete in the box solution
Cons
I can't speak for the score editor as we never use it.

An Excellent DAW for Apple Users

Logic Pro has become my secondary DAW, with many features that keep me coming back for more. The optimization on Apple products is incredible; it's very hard for me to max-out mixes on my 2019 iMac. The Match EQ plugin is very useful for matching sounds (vocal takes, mixes), the Drummer instrument is stunning, and the unique editing features are well-suited to certain projects. I would need to see drastic improvement in the speed of the audio engine to consider fully switching, but it is an exemplary DAW which deserves the attention of every musician on an Apple product.
Pros
Logic Pro X is a full-featured digital audio workstation that can easily meet the needs of beginners and pros alike. Those who grew up on Apple Garageband will find the interface immediately familiar while expanding their mixing knowledge. For professionals, all the bells and whistles are here, especially the included effects and libraries, which are considered some of the best stock plugins on the market. The Logic Drummer instrument is mind-blowingly good, with perfect studio sound and amazing A.I. performances. And all this in a clean, tidy interface. Logic Pro will reward users to spend time to dig deeper into its feature set, and at the price, it's hard to beat.
Cons
However, Logic is (rightly) notorious for being counterintuitive at times. Important functions are often hidden away in contextual menus; Logic hides most of its essential features unless you activate them in preferences (again, seeming to favour the beginner over the professional); attempts at simplifying the recording process are poorly executed; the Auto-Punch feature will randomly kick in while recording; a gap in playback can be heard when punching in audio takes, and many other basic functions result in long Google searches to figure out. Plus, updates tend to emphasize showy new features over improving functionality.
Reasons for Switching to Logic Pro
I was hoping to integrate myself further into the Apple ecosystem while taking advantage of the massive performance optimization of Logic Pro, and it did not disappoint in that category. It's snappier than Pro Tools, and the interface is less cramped and clunky than Reason, and will feel familiar to audio professionals.

The benefits Logic offered me is to be creative, a program that lets me record my ideas. For me to come back to a different moment or day.
Pros
Outside of the many Filters and effects it provides. I think Logic Pro can be a creative tool for any musician to just experiment with recording their songs. Try different effects or use the build instrument plugins and play around with piano's violins even if your main instrument is just the guitar. I've experienced many times by just recording an idea or riff gave me new ideas to create entire songs.
Cons
I would love if Logic would offer maybe more presets like Drum Packages that you can use to play along with or other instruments. I have not even discovered everything about Logic there are so many tools. So far I've only used the basics, which just does the job for whatever I'm doing. Record my music in a pro way and make it ready to be used for Youtube.

For over 10 years I have been using Logic and have absolutely enjoyed being a part of growing with the software as well. No other music production software gives you a complete system like this and you can not beat the price.
Pros
I have used Logic for a number of years going back to Logic 8. This by far delivers the best bang for the buck. I can not think of any other DAW that is complete and does not require anything 3rd party to operate. You can do absolutely everything in this software and once you buy it, it is yours.
Cons
I do wish the score editor was laid out more like Guitar pro or something and a little easier to inout new ideas.

I use this product daily, and I love it. However, I also go ballistic at the product almost daily for one glitch or another. I'd never go to another DAW!
Pros
As an owner of a recording studio, I've built my entire business off the back of Logic. In comparison to other DAW's, it's just the best and I believe it's the industry standard for recording and mixing vocals. Track composition is very easy as it has a highly intuitive interface to record midi. I'll always recommend it to anybody who's a producer.I've been using it for nearly 10 years now and I'm still learning new shortcuts - it's great. Everybody who uses logic has a different trick to teach each other!
Cons
Plug-in integration isn't always smooth, it can also be quite glitchy. We have a running joke in our recording studio about this.

An Amazing DAW for Audio & MIDI Alike!

Overall I'm a big fan of Logic Pro! While I don't use it on a daily basis, it's definitely something I'm using periodically to compose, and I also work with a lot of clients who use it full time, to the point where there is interfacing between my system and theirs. Logic Pro also continues to be the most reasonably priced audio software and should be affordable to users at almost any price point. Overall it's a very powerful music production software that should be considered by everyone searching for their DAW of choice.
Pros
The best thing about Logic Pro is the ability to quickly and easily create music productions. Of all the DAWs (digital audio workstations), I think for first time users this one is the quickest one to learn and get used to. The built in sounds, plug-ins, and features are all top notch, and getting started with the interface is super easy to understand. This is definitely the edge that Logic Pro has when compared with other software of this type. It also helps that a lot of users that have used Garageband will find similarities in the user experience.
Cons
My biggest knock on Logic is it's audio editing capabilities. While it's of course possible to make edits, I don't find it anywhere near as intuitive as Pro Tools or Cubase. In this regard, Pro Tools still reigns supreme, but I will say that Logic has made large strides in this department in recent years. That said I still think there is room for improvement when it comes to the audio editing, mixing and tracking functionality.

It will take quite a leap to move away from Logic Pro now that I've used it for so long but I don't see any great reason to do that.
Pros
Midi editing, pre/post-production, and sound design couldn't get much easier with Logic Pro. Pull up any of their built-in instruments, effects, or tools and you won't be disappointed with the variety and quality. Workflow is easy to pick up with editable shortcuts and midi learn to make working with internal or external gear about as easy as it gets.
Cons
Even though there are plenty of tools built for Logic Pro, the fact that it can't run VST plugins is disappointing.

At the end of the day, I am very satisfied with Logic Pro. It seems like every year it is more sophisticated and refined. It allows me to create quickly and is powerfully equipped to get me to the end of a project with a professional-quality sound.
Pros
The stock effects are an excellent place to start and allow users to immediately dive into a project. This can be crucial when the ever-so-fickle ideas are right there in your mind and you want to get them recorded asap!
Cons
I found the process of running anything other than stock plugins a little confusing and tedious. Part of this is user error, but it would be nice if the process was even more streamlined for those of us with less experience with plugins.
