Ease and simplicity of sending in or uploaded my receipts and documents. Put them in an envelope and then they are there for me to easily find and reference.

The interface is a bit clunky. There are too many buttons to push to get the data the way I want to view it sometimes. Once you get used to it, you are fine but it could be more streamlined.

I like that I can forward receipts to an email, I like that it pulls the info from the receipt and that I can search for info to pull up relevant receipts

I don't like that I always need to switch accounts when I sign it, I don't get why I have an account in my name and I have to switch to the business one (I purchased it for business). The info taken from receipt images are not always correct and makes it hard to find and reconcile. Also don't like that it doesn't account well for different currencies, we are a Canadian company but deal with many currencies.

Easy to use! It's just taking a picture of your receipt and uploading. You can categorize and even add categories that the software doesn't come preloaded with.

Sometimes it takes a bit to get the receipts completely uploaded which can be cumbersome when you have several receipts at one time.

I like how easy it is. Other softwares have been time consuming. I also love how it auto calculates my costs.

It would be cool if you offered some knowledge for small businesses right away regarding taxes and what to expect. Maybe a short write up for each of the break down categories.

This software is very easy to use. I enjoy that it is automatically connected with my email. It makes it easy for people like me on the go.

The email address that each individual account has is way too long and sometimes difficult to get to.

It makes things simpler for accounting, and keeping receipts, storing information and all through online

duplication? Although I think that may have been an error on my end. Still not totally sure but haven't really looked into it either

This software is so simple to use and makes my life so much easier. I know I always have a backup of receipts and I can just easily send them in an envelope or upload them online. I love it!

The only thing I wish it could do regarding pulling receipts from a gmail account is that I wish I could set it up to pull receipts from a certain folder within my account.

The process of simply aiming my camera at a receipt and clicking off a category takes all the overwhelming anticipation of filing away.

The software tallies up the receipt totals, but I wish it automatically totaled the taxes as well. Tracking sales taxes is the primary reason I downloaded the app.

I love that I can forward email receipts to the app and it automatically enters the information for me.

No cons, it's working just as I need it to and there's nothing I could think of otherwise to improve this app.

The ease of importing receipts is excellent. Being able to stuff receipts and documents into an envelope weekly or bi-weekly and just watch them magically show up in a file management system is great. The email inbox sync, drag and drop from desktop, and manual email submission are all excellent, easy to use submission formats as well. I think what this app needs to take file submission to the next level is a desktop app that would allow the user to view and manage files, but also has a print driver that would allow the user to print forms and reports directly into Shoeboxed from other programs. We save a lot of reports from Quickbooks and other software and instead of printing to PDF, creating a file on the desktop, and dragging it into the uploader, it would save hours per month to be able to print directly to a Shoeboxed desktop app.

I only have two real complaints about the product--one is about the function of the product itself and one is about access to customer service.

There needs to be more control over file management. Right now all receipts get uploaded to a giant pool of receipts which can be sorted by date, name, drilled down by category/tag, but I really want to be able to put those receipts into folders, particularly by year or even month. In the buys season we can have a few hundred receipts per month, many from the same handful of vendors. If I need to go back and look for a receipt in a giant mess of 3 years worth of receipts from a particular vendor, I'm not going to have a very good day. Giving me more control over organization of my files would address that issue. Control over deleting default receipt categories is also a must have that is currently unavailable.

My other qualm is that they have links to a live chat all over their help page, however live chat is almost never available. I usually have a simple question that would have a simple answer, but when live chat is unavailable (always) I have to email and wait 1-2 days for a response. My feeling is that if you are going to target the US market, your support staff should have a shift running during US business hours. I will say that phone support is great and very attentive, but I don't always want to make a phone call for a simple question about where I can find a function or how to do something simple.

-Has saved me so much money by upping my deductions tens of thousands of dollars!!! Also, I never used to track mileage. This has made it so easy except when I forget to drop a pin!

I have called on all of these suggestions:
1. When emailing in a receipt, allow one to add a category and note so you don't have to log on and do it later.
2. Have GPS track all of your trip so you don't have to remember to drop a pin. If you forget, which I am sure people do a lot, you get 0 miles.
3. Sometimes the GPS drops and you lose all data for the trip.
4. Allow one to add a new category on the app from your phone.

The ease of use and the search functionality. I can always find what I am looking for and have never had issues.

I wish I could use it for more things in life! In all honesty, I think the app could be improved a bit, but it's still a great software.

Very clear cut. You can look ahead and plan out your week. I like the color coding option which gives you clarity.

Would be great to have more features on free version like notes. That is all really. I love the software.

Ease of use. It's really convenient to keep an envelope in a car to collect receipts on the go and to mail in once a week once a new envelope arrives. I really like this feature and it has allowed us to save all our receipts!

I wish it automatically matched with my QuickBooks banking. Right now we use quckbooks independently of shoeboxed as it will double enter the same transactions and not automatically match them. This is unfortunate!

It's very easy to use and saves me a lot of time and headache. I love that I can scan, take a picture of, email or mail in my receipts and business cards and Shoeboxed takes care of the rest. The reports it generates also makes tax reporting seamless.

None that I can think of. I've never had any issues with the website or phone app. It's intuitive and very easy to use.

It makes tracking receipts simple. Saves me a ton of headache in managing the financials of my businesses. Managing the paper version of everything is tedious and difficult if you are on the road as much as I am.

Sometimes the camera auto opens when the appleads, I take a pic, and then the pic does not save. This is the only issue that frustrates me with the app. If this was fixed, my review would be perfect.

The ability to utilize pre-paid envelopes makes the service super easy to use. Just drop in any receipts or business cards that you have and they do the rest! Plus, they go ahead and categorize all of your receipts so that you know exactly where your money goes.

Sometimes, the categorization is off due to the fact that they have to guess what each receipt is for. For instance, if I have a receipt for a local store they might not know what type of store that is (retail, grocery, office supplies, etc.). Other than that, the service is great!

the email to shoeboxed function is nuts and essential to what I need to do when on the move. and the app for mac is really simple.

the interface feels old and still a little slow. I understand that its brining up my scanned files which is intense, but it feels slow for today

I found Shoeboxed a few years ago, and had never thought about a "receipt organization service", but what they do is truly "magic": I just send them my receipts, bills and all sorts of documents and they, within just like a day, scan everything and upload it to my mobile app and online account - I always have my receipts at my fingertips now, and all of that without any work required on my part. I love this service so much!

I don't have any complaints really. Maybe.. their support hours? Their support is amazing, first of all, but I had times where I couldn't reach them via phone when I wanted to run a report etc.

Email transcibing of Reciepts. Phone image capture, one click app opening. Magic envelopes are simple, durable, and arrive very quickly. The return service is useful to, I simply label the returned envelopes by date & store them.

Difficult to select report fields from mobile device. Categories often need to be manually corrected. My biggest dislike is dated are often omitted rom the image translations

Pretty easy to use and review receipts. It has cut down my review time and collating time a lot.
I also like the ability to have a digital copy of my receipts in case I lose them or they are destroyed.

Inability to set default currency to canadian.
I am concerned about some of the scans I had made when using the free service. The setup seems unable to bring the images up in ISO app and through the web. I just hope I don't get audited on those receipts.

ITS IS SIMPLE TO USE. I USED TO DELAY ENTERING MY EXPENSE RECEIPTS UNTIL IT BECAME A MAJOR PROJECT. WITH THIS SOFTWARE, I DO IT 4-5 TIMES A WEEK AND I'M ALWAYS CURRENT. EASY TO SEARCH FOR A RECEIPT WHEN NEEDED AND I LOVE THE REPORTS I CAN GENERATE FOR TAX PURPOSES.

I LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. I JUST PULL OUT MY PHONE, TAKE A PICTURE AND FILE.
