As a UI designer with limited coding experience, I've found Bubble to be an invaluable tool for creating functional and visually good web applications without the need to write a single line of code.

Pros

I love most about Bubble is its intuitive drag-and-drop interface, which makes the design process seamless.

Cons

I found Bubble's limited customization options to be a bit frustrating at times.

I signed up for this with the intention to test and delete if not suitable. I deleted my payment details to close my account and was continually billed after this, despite not using the service and customer service say they can not refund me. This is a subscription trap. Unethical. I went on to cancel the card attached to the account and some how they have managed to still bill me. I'm not even sure how or if this is even legal. Waiting on my bank to fix this now.

Pros

Nothing at all. They are scamming subscription traps

Cons

No customer service. Continued billing after removing payment details and having UI confirmation that details were deleted

I like the platform and will stick with it for a while. Bubble offers much more control over competitors.

Pros

Bubble is good enough but has lots of room to grow. I'm optimistic on their future.

Cons

Requires lots of workarounds and is missing some features like mobile development for now. Documentation for newcomers to the platform could be improved.

Why Bubble.io is highly over priced

The software is great except for the new responsive builder that's horrible and the extremely high hosting fees. Especially now that the rand/dollar has worsen. Imagine paying $16,000 dollars a month for your software. Does that make sense to you? That's what it's costing us and it's ruining our and many other business that are really good at developing software.

Pros

It helps us build software for clients with way less developers on a project due to bubbles ease of use and speed to develop complex platforms.

Cons

What bubble makes up in speed of development it reduces the scalability of it. Bubble is 10X more expensive than any other software we use. Bubble costs us more in hosting than our office rent making it almost impossible for us to sell it to a client and we have lost a lot of clients due to bubbles expensive rates.

Alternatives Considered

FlutterFlow and Webflow

Reasons for Switching to Bubble

Complexity of development & speed of development. Not worth the price whatsoever.

Incredible experience with Bubble

Bubble has changed the way I view building websites, it has created this space for me to develop and launch products without the need for developers, and it creates a sense of freedom I have never experienced as a founder since we began in 2012. Truly grateful for Bubble's existence.

Pros

It isn't a simple website builder, you can build Apps, Marketplaces, Platforms, etc. It's a game changer for how we will build incredible products online and digitally.Bubble removes the need for developers, creates a space to easily launch directly to users, and removes the gap between online creators and users like never before.

Cons

I truly wish the team would make it their number 1 priority to address the backend UI interface, especially when it comes to interacting with CRM data, it feels completely messy and confusing. As a designer, it some times shocks me how poorly it's designed, a simple look at Figma or even the not-so-great UI of Webflow makes Bubble look from the 80s in UI. It is time for a big improvement there, for the sake of it's current users and future ones.

It has been 4 years now that I am working on Bubble. It was a real opportunity to create proof of concept. But now that I am becoming an entrepreunor with more scalability problems. I have to admit that Bubble does not match these challenges coming so we plan to stop using it.

Pros

Very easy to create apps , do custom stuffs. Very easy to go into Development through it , a very good community on your forum and good reactivity from the CS team.

Cons

Performance like I said, very poor for ecommerce and even for an app to use every day as a team. And the second on is hat we can read the DB fastly when it comes to advanced filters. We have to think about workarounds, which oblige us to store the data twice which is a lot of work. and even with that this is not that easy to do.

Technology development is expensive, we have a team of over 30 tradition developers. Using Bubble we are able to empower citizen developers to build custom applications both client facing and internal staff tools without requiring months and tens of thousands of dollars in development. The platform is also great for building high fidelity mock ups and prototypes.

Pros

We haven't hit a roadblock on features development in Bubble yet. Previously we would go through an ideation phase be limited by the functionality on previous no code/low code platforms. We are yet to experience limitation on any of our feature developments in Bubble.- The API connector makes it easy to integrate with other platforms.- The use of plugins allows us to fill any gaps that may exist with out of the box functionality- The new responsive engine allows us to quickly build elegant UIs that support desktop, ipad and mobile designs - Database management is made easy

Cons

- Debug mode is a little difficult to use and understand- Logging is very difficult to use- Deployment functionality works, but version history and control could use some more love- Current plans make collaboration a bit difficult. The price jump between Profession and Production is huge and quite often you want to have multiple app editors while you get your application up and running before it is production ready- Not easy to use your own custom backend, this would be a huge win for enterprise clients

I have been using Bubble since April 2021. It was very difficult in the first months because I am not a Cartesian mind. I'm more of a creator, a drawer, and a designer. I started by using Webflow which corresponded more to me. But as powerful as Webflow is, it was not going to allow me to reach my goal. That of creating powerful sites like Shopify for example. So I trained via different training platforms, for over a year. Today, with a lot of effort, I think I am able to create all my ideas without any problem with Bubble.

Pros

I've always been an entrepreneur and being able to create sites on my own, without the help of a developer is really a game changer.

Cons

It is very difficult for a non-technical person to understand all these new concepts. I had to train myself and it was long and difficult. But I really wanted to be able to create sites by myself, without anyone's help.

Alternatives Considered

Webflow, Framer and Shopify

Reasons for Switching to Bubble

I decided to choose Bubble because of all the development power it offers. No other nocode tool offers so many possibilities. The further I go in my journey with Bubble, the more I feel like I can really create anything I want.

As a "non developer", it's been great to discover I could dev my own app without having to pay a dev to do it for me. Bubble is a very complete tool and needs quite a lot of training before being able to use all its potential but it definitely worth it.

Pros

Bubble is a all in 1 visual programing tool : you can manage Design, Logic and database in the same tool which is very convenient.

Cons

There are still some limitation for "big consuming app" but bubble constantly evolve and performances get better and better.

Very disappointed! I took 2 UDEMY courses to help, asked IT programmers to help (that too got confused with Bubble work flow), 6 4 months later & I’m still stuck in landing & sign up page ONLY! At first I used Appypie, BUILDFIRE & Appmaster (all much easier to use than Bubble, but with less features)

Pros

Many available features that I wish I knew how to use!!!

Cons

IT IS NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL! Claiming to be NO CODE should make it easy for anyone to use! Market your software for developers & coders!!! NOT zero IT background App enthusiasts!!!!

Overall, I have an amazing experience with Bubble. In the space of a few months, I was able to develop my ideas which had been blocked for years by the simple fact of not knowing or finding an associated developer. I was able to launch my idea and start contacting my first prospects

Pros

With Bubble you can realize all your ideas that were previously reserved for the IT elite and experienced developers. What's fantastic is being able to develop your creativity without any limitations.

Cons

At my level I have a lot of difficulty developing certain functionalities. I think Bubble can be even simpler to use, develop and implement. At some point it is necessary to call on an agency or at least training.

Bubble review from non-IT no code developer

Reviewed on 2023/03/22

It's fantastic !

It's fantastic !

Pros

Bubble is super fast at building & deploy a functional solution. You can do everything you want at pixel level. Workflows are fully under your control... there is really no limits (in comparison with other no-code tools). You can call any API you want & even add code if it's really necessary (i never had to do it). You can test & debug everything directly so you make very few mistakes. The (not so) new responsive engine makes it super easy to build responsive for any screen size.

Cons

The "components" library can be improved to save huge amount of time. But some exists out of the box but need additional subscription on third party partners. It could save tons of hours to have pre-built page templates and configurable small components like "x-closing window", popups, menus, etc. just like we can style every type of input, text, button, etc. it could be nice to be able to build and save our "small component library" (maybe it can be done with reusable elements but it's not that clear.Have some wizard to set up the basic layout in the most efficient way could be nice : main menu with Option set and Repeating group, single index page with hiding groups "with url parameters" on that same menu option set, etc.
