As a software engineer, using AccessPatrol was mostly smooth. It blocked unauthorized USB devices well and made management easy with centralized control. The setup took some time, but after that, real-time alerts and logs were very useful for security and compliance. Regular updates were needed to keep up with new devices, but overall, it was effective for keeping our network secure.

Pros

I liked most about AccessPatrol is its ability to block unauthorized USB devices and easily manage access centrally. It provides real-time alerts and detailed logs, helping to prevent data breaches.
The software offers detailed logging to track all device activities, ensuring compliance and data protection.

Cons

It can be challenging to configure initially, especially for users who are not familiar with security software.

I use AccessPatrol basically as a device control tool to help prevent security breaches and data leakages associated file transfers using devices like USBs. It is very useful in protecting the organization endpoints as well as preventing data loss due to thefts to portable storage devices. It allows blocking of peripheral devices like USBs that are not authorized as well as monitoring the files transfer activities.

Pros

It is easy to setup and the interface is well organized making it easy to use. The whitelist function allows one to allow only authorized USB devices while blocking all the other unauthorized ones. The customization of files transfer blocking based on their types and names is very effective. The instant notifications via emails on files transfer and device used helps take necessary actions with time to cub the security risks. With just a single click, one can block a USB device completely. The generated reports provides clear insights on file transfer operations, the devices used, blocked devices which helps in auditing.
