Overall it was a great and easy program to learn. Amazing way to model buildings, jewelry and more.

Pros

The most impactful feature of rhino would have to be the tools provided which allow you to create any shapes and designs that you could possibly think of. This makes coming up with multiple renditions easy and fast.

Cons

Rendering capabilities still leave much to desire compared to other programs.

The software has been invaluable for building curved ArchiCAD objects. This is important for us as we set out our sanitary ware in great detail and have to build a number of the less common products ourselves. we do not want the messy elevations produced by Sketchup triangulated models.

Pros

The software does not need to triangulate surfaces like Sketchup does which is useful for creating objects for use in Archicad when we don’t want lots of messy lines in elevation views of curved objects.

Cons

The software isn’t as intuitive as Sketchup and took some getting used to and online video tutorials.

I use Rhino for Modeling and analysing scanned 3d object for retopology to UV unwarping. also SDS modeling with Solid object workflow let's me much of free way to build surface. For example, I modeled Organic object with SDS model and import to Rhino for boolean between parametric surface. plus, Rhino is very stable application. I have very few experience of crash.

Pros

1. SDS Support feature is very useful to model with Mesh for organic object.
2. Convert the SDS Mesh surface to Parametric surface pipeline let's more flexibility.
3. Auto Re topology feature make mesh's flow structure for quad very good quality.
4. Reliable and Solid. Almost no crashing.
5. Mac Friendly.
6. Grasshopper for much of external extension.
7. No Subscription purchase need.

Cons

1. Strangely far slower rendering speed than previous version.
2. Not Support M1 Render GPU Power yet.
3. User need manual surface blending way when complex rounding.
4. Bit more history feature would be better.

Best user friendly 3d designing software

Reviewed on 2022/04/28

Pros

Rhino 7 is most useful software in 3d designing with great accuracy. We can easily create designs from our imagination without any limitations. The complex design can be created easily with the specifications. We can easily edit the documents using the tools for joining, trimming, delete, chamfering, and many other tools. The software is also useful for 2d drawings for technical illustration.

Cons

Proper training is needed for best use of the software. No issues are found.

and also in my experience i think it has improvement to use graphic and CPU. its about my python rendering in rhino.

I describe Rhino as an amazing 3d modelling solution, because you can model anything you want very easily.

Pros

I loved the way that you can sketch in 3 principal planes for extrude, revolve or do any simple operation to obtain complex 3D models. The way surfaces are used in rhino is very simple and provides an easy way to build solid with certain difficulty grade of modelling.

Cons

I hardly see something that I dont like.

Rhino 7 gets the job done and you can learn to be fast with its functions as long as you know how to use it. I found that youtube lacks resources on tip and tricks and their website doesn't offer much to explain how to use their tools.

Pros

I could get used to using it's system and the commands are fairly simple because all you have to do is type out what you want to do.

Cons

From my experience using Rhino programs there is a learning curve. I learnt this program while I was studying and struggled to understand the program and their export system. I believe in the interior design industry most people don't use Rhino (this is from my experience and it may differ from everyone) and use Auto CAD instead.

overall for me Rhino is Considered one of a kind, it has great capabilities, fairly easy to start of with
i would consider it a great modeling tool for designers, architects or even jewelry designers, i really like the idea of visual programming it gives me great opportunity to express my ideas in a very unique way, definitely recommend it for architects and designers.

Pros

-starting of with rhino, comparing with its features I find it the program kind of easy to start with compared to other programs
- grasshopper is a game changer for me, I like that anything can be modeled "it can go as far as your imagination"
-huge forum support if you face any difficulties or questions
-non ending number of very useful plugins can be easily added

Cons

-grasshopper can be a very hard plugin to start practicing, specially for new users that are not familiar with working with data "visual programming or programming in general"
-if the program gets complicated it gets really heavy and starts to lag no matter what are the specs of your PC

I've been using Rhino for more than 18 years and I think it is a unique software in the current 3D CAD market: at an extremenly affordable price point it offers a comprehensive set of tools for creating accurate and complex 3D models. It is extremely flexible and powerful, and it can easily finds its place in any design studio: from architecture to jewelry, from industrial to naval design.
It integrates Grasshopper, a true game-changer in the emerging parametric / computational 3D design field.

Pros

- Extreme flexibility
- Rock solid - crashes are exremely rare
- Expandable through hundreds of free and premium add-ons and plugins
- Integrates Grasshopper, a great visual programming language
- Made by a great company, with a unique relationship with its users and a top-notch customer support
- Affordable, non-subscription based, incredible value for the money

Cons

- Some long-awaited features have not been implemented yet (for example some freeform surfacing functions)
- Some modeling tools would need some refinement and increase in reliability (for example booleans and solid fillets)
- Development times are relatively slow-paced.

I was able to get the job done with Rhino I was able to make a 3d model and have professional rendering, however it took too much time to learn it. It was too complicated, and for that reason I never want to have to use it again.

Pros

What I liked the most about this software was being able to create CAD models for my presentations and ideas.

Cons

Learning this software is ridiculously hard. There are too many controls and more than half of my team gave up on trying to learn it because it was too clunky and complicated

Rhino is my go-to 3D modeling software. When I need good renderings, I export to Cinema4D, but for actual modeling, Rhino is great.

Pros

No 3D modeler is easy to learn, but Rhino is easier and more intuitive than most. It strikes a good middle-ground position between engineering/precision and flexibility/creativity. Each update of Rhino brings real improvements. A single license is good for both Windows and Mac versions (Thank you!). McNeel keeps building more of what used to be add-ons into the core application. With some software, that just seems to bloat things, but it doesn't with Rhino.

Cons

There are still frustrations with occasional failed procedures. (E.g., boolean operations, chamfers and fillets, etc.) They happen less frequently than with previous versions. And when a procedure fails, it's often hard to figure out why and you end up having to spend a lot of time trying various other paths to get to your desired end.

Reviewed on 2019/02/22

Pros

Its versatility regarding both modeling and drafting capabilities. Our team has already stop using autocad in favor of Rhino, both our drawings and 3d models are handled in the same files, providing a more managed work flow.

I'm very pleased with Rhino, I was able to get from an idea to an actual, functional object in a relatively short time and with a short learning period.

Pros

Rhino is a rock-solid, professional 3D editing and modeling software. It's less easy to use than some of its competitors, but more reliable, stable and feature-packed.

Cons

The UI is somewhat complicated and it requires you to lear a lot of keyboard shortcuts, but from a software with so many tools and features that's to be expected. Still the UI could be improved.

Great experience for using with Grasshopper the open source real-time modules and it's free for use. Many automations and multifinctional simulations could be processed and visualized easily without knowing the actual methods or simulation software.

Pros

Had used Rhino 5 and Rhino 6 is a great update. The nurbs modeling tool helps in better designing of complex models. The 3D visualization and rendering offered are great for design discussions to final model presentation and 3D printing.

Cons

rhino 6 has a heavy background processing engine that consumes lot of memory on the background. This could be during an intense rendering and the process could be used as multicore technology in addition to multi threading technology for better memory management.

This software has given us the flexibility to design objects in an organic fashion. It does not confine you to wall or floor planes.

Pros

This tool allows you as a designer to really craft an object to your specifications. As an interior designer, this has been essential to creating custom displays and millwork pieces. It also helps in getting a concept to a fabricator.

Cons

It isn't entirely intuitive. It really helps to have an introductory course or tutorial to utilize the software to the full potential.
