CRISAM and its developing opportunities

Reviewed on 2023/12/13

Pros

The fact, that Calpana, the company in charge for Crisam in Austria and Germany, understands our needs, reacts fast, and helps achieving the right outcome for a reasonable pricing

Cons

Sure there is a high dependence on the support team behind Crisam, which we are really lucky with, but imagine that this team would not be as good and fast responding, I could imagine this being a problem. But - no issue on our side, we get all the support we need

We run our ERM Process in Crisma, which is a full-blown bottom up process for the whole company. The software is continuously improved and communication with Calpana is quick and useful.

Pros

- very flexible to meet various requirements
- extremely helpful to fulfill legal requirements
- fits to different RM standards
- very handy for Web-access for users
- comfortable and quick aggregation
- proactive and dynamic company, always strive to improve functionality and user-friendliness

Cons

- the separation between Explorer and Web-Interface makes it little complicated to provide extensive reports to the user

The user-friendly GUI makes it easier to involve risk owners in the assessment process without losing them half way through. Thanks to straightforward accessibility, there are no more reasons for non-participation.

Pros

The software solution is easy to use not only for the risk officer in the headquarters, who compiles the reporting to top management, but also for the local risk owner in the various business units. The processes to identify or assess risks ensures reliable data.

Cons

The powerful reporting engine in place is not easy to use for a non-expert. However, small amendments are no big deal.

Powerful Enterprise Risk Management system

Reviewed on 2022/10/23

My company uses Crisam for its company-wide bottom-up Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) for more than 2 years now with about 200 users. As Enterprise Risk Manager I administrate and use Crisam in my daily routines. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the software and the service provider Calpana. With Crisam we can fulfill our legal and best practice requirements. Next to the ERM, we have integrated several function-specific risk management processes in CRISAM which automatically feed into the ERM, e.g. Tax, IT and some local risk management processes of operating units.

Pros

- Crisam web interface is rather intuitive and guides the user through a risk assessment with customizable helptexts- Crisam can handle several different KPIs to quantitatively and qualitatively evaluate risks and opportunities- Statistical modelling (monte-carlo-simulations) for quantitative risk aggregation is done by the software engine- Generated risk reports from Crisam are customizable to adapt to our own needs- Crisam Dashboard as a powerful feature recently introduced to analyse and visualise recorded risk data.- Data Transfer: We successfully implemented a data transfer from Crisam to Corporater- High-quality customer support with dedicated main contact person

Cons

- Crisam is still set up with two systems: Web Access (user system) + Explorer (admin system)- The risk summary page in Crisam does not work properly in case more than one KPI is evaluated. Users therefore regularly ask for Crisam generated reports to check their input. However, reports from Crisam can only be generated with the admin system. From a process efficiency and userfriendliness point of view, this is a downside. Nevertheless, Calpana recently introduced a 'dashboard' feature which serves as a work-around with room for improvement. - As Calpana is rapidly growing we generally observe a slightly slower customer support than in previous years.
