I am happy with this, the design is straight forward and allow me to get in and out quickly.

Pros

This is a low budget, easy to learn and use software package for non professional who wish to create a few small project in a timely fashion.
It does not have a load of complication. It get the job done with a clean design.
It shouldn't be so difficult for anyone to look in a mic and recognize where the source of sound will be coming from. Import your footage and you can add music and noted with text and some built in lower thirds.
The two view modes - timeline and storyboard views - are very easy to get use too. I love the story line, allowing for the little space to drop cool built some transition.
This is a simple full package editor!

Cons

Lower thirds are quite not so impressive, but you can build your own.
I purchased the package with all the software at reduced unlimited lifetime price so no complaints here.
It does take a load of computing resource to product larger video. So please take note that a good GPU will make your workflow easier as compared to my low end i5core with 16GB Ram.

I have used AVS Video Editor to make several training videos that are used to help my employees preform their job duties more efficiently. It has been a welcome asset to my computer library.

Pros

I like AVS Video Editor because of the simplicity of making seamless videos from a variety of formats into one cohesive video.

Cons

I like being able to caption videos, but I have trouble always figuring out how to save them in a way that the captioning is a part of the video. This is more a user issue than a program issue.

It's great, depending on the project. A quick snip and clean-up jobs turn out great.

Pros

The work space is clean and easy to navigate. Editing features are relatively easy to use and options are above average, but not extensive. A lot of control over output options and quality is high-end.

Cons

Would like to see more flexibility with effects -- either option to download more from site or ability to create own effects or tinker with code on existing effects. Repeated issues exporting crashes of final video. Have combed over online help, read through previous submissions, but resolutions were not easy to come by. Spent A LOT of time trying to find a fix, as have many other users from what I've read.

I am looking forward to updating our school website with video editing and being able to produce videos of student performance.

Pros

I know everyone raves on Apple products like imovie. I could not follow how to add and edit the way I wanted to with that program with just simple tasks. Even Windows Movie Maker was making simple edits more complicated than they needed to be. I found I was wasting a lot of time using these video editing programs.
AVS Video Editor was EXACTLY the product I needed! I can easily drag and drop media like photos, songs, and video into the program and edit, splice, merge, and add all the fun transitions and effects without having to read a manual to figure it all out. It is very simple to use, but delivers powerful, professional results! Thank you for creating this video editing program!
I am so thankful for the person who recommended it to me!

Cons

My only con is that I didn't know about this sooner. I LOVE this program.

It's easy, It's free and extremely powerful software for video editing.

Pros

AVS has an extremely simple user interface, making it easy for anyone with no editing experience to use the software. This software does not require any advanced PC specifications to get started and works well in practically any setting. This has all of the fundamental features for editing videos and adding animation clips to it. They provide a variety of preloaded animations and objects that we can drag into the video and use right away.

Cons

In their free version, they place a large watermark in the center of the video, which is something I didn't like about their software. They should have placed the watermark in the video's corner, or at least at a spot where it has the least impact.

Unfortunately I encountered problems this week and reached out to customer service on the AVS Support Page. I have received no response from at all, now going on about 24 hours. I had an important meeting with prominent insurance and finance industry professionals on Monday and I want to get a good recording to them ASAP. It would be great if somebody would contact me so I can get the editor working again.

Pros

I have used the AVS Video Editor many times over the past 2+ years. I am happy with the product as I am able to edit out opening/closing bits from virtual recordings, and internal bits. That is the primary reason I use the product.

Cons

When I use the multi-trim to edit out internal bits, if the bit is of a very short duration it is quite difficult to visually see the timestamp bar. I typically have to use a screen magnifier to do it.

My review about the software

Overall, I am very pleased with AVS. I purchased a lifetime version of it and I have been using it on a weekly basis. I had an issue with the serial number that got resolved really quick - a nod to the customer service. It is very easy to create videos with nice effects, the software is not CPU or memory consuming and is ideal for beginner editors as well as for advanced users. It would be really nice to have multicam syncing for B-rolls, support for Linux and the possibility to export a file in 60fps.

Pros

I really like how easy it is to use the software. It is great, if you would like to edit some footages, use on screen video comments with chroma key, make some slide shows and so on. It is really versatile and has a lot of options when it comes to transitions and other effects such as filters and color correction. I have been editing videos with AVS for the past 5 years or so and I never really encountered a problem. It really has all the functions and tools you need to have and it is very easy to use. Also, it is very CPU and memory-friendly, so one doesn´t have to have a high and PC to use it.

Cons

My biggest issue with AVS is that it doesn´t allow to edit in B-rolls, I mean multicam footages. There is a workaround, but AVS doesn´t sync videos together. The software gives one the possibility to use multiple audio tracks, but it is not possible to add another main video, just a secondary one. I would really love to be able to have multicam video footage syncing, because I make music videos as well, whereas I use multiple angles. Other than that, I am a satisfied user.

For home use only so can't speak to a business related experience, however for personnel use, creating video's for social media is a breeze. It makes merging or combining short clips from the same topic very easy and provides an end product that looks impressive. The ease of being able to take VHS tape videos and clean them up and save them in a digital format was a great find especially using a software as powerful as the AVS Video editor.

Pros

I have a significant amount of old records, cassette tapes, VHS tapes as well as comprehensive music library. AVS has the individual software programs for all my needs and has especially been instrumental in digitizing my older media. Big benefits include being able to convert files to a common file structure, to "normalize" volumes across the library as well as improving quality of the recordings, both audio as well as video. The ease of splitting, cropping, producing in a choice of file formats, adding transitions, additional audio tracks, are but a few of the beneficial options of using this software.

Cons

I found the audio/visual synchronization when digitizing VHS tapes to be a little off from time to time. Not sure if it was the software or the hardware converters being used, other then that I have no complaints about any of the software programs.

I realize that there are other video editors available. But once I learned how to use AVS for my basic needs, I stuck with the software. My weekly process is rather elementary and AVS serves its purpose for me. While there are a wide range of features available, my time schedule limits me to only the simplest ones. But the software works well to reach my goals.

Pros

I use this product weekly and essentially do not alter the features from week-to-week. I appreciate the consistency though there are many features that I do not utilize.

Cons

There is a sizeable "learning curve" for those, like me, with zero video editing experience. Trial-and-error is the name of the game. Once I discovered how to use the most basic features, I stuck with them. My weekly presentation process, though, may not match the more elaborate undertakings of other users.

I am very happy with AVS video editor. I needed an editor that was easy to use but offered plenty of features for the type of video editing work I do for our health care organization. Your economically priced product lead me to trying on AVS and I'm very happy that I did.

Pros

I find video editing with AVS to be very easy and intuitive. This is very important to me as my department is understaffed and I have little time for learning overly complicated video editors. When I've had questions about how to do something, I've been able to find helpful online resources and have received excellent customer service by your team.

Cons

I wish that AVS video editor had more ability to personalize various defaults so that it works better for me. For instance, I frequently need to add slides from PowerPoint presentations into the videos I edit. (We record many online health seminars for our patients). When adding these to the video I always have to resize them to fill the screen--this can be very time consuming. There should be a way to set the default to full screen so I don't have to resize every image.

AVS has helped me remove beeping sounds from alot of my videos that i recorded using a screen recording software. It played an audible beep when the program started recording and AVS removed the beeps by allowing me to cut out that half a second part of the video.

Pros

AVS is just as good as most of the other mid tier editing programs. There are many useful features and dragging and dropping files into the editor makes it that much easier to get started. I liked that it didn't just ask you to do something and then expected you to know what to do next. It guides you along the way and does a decent job editing.

Cons

Presently they are offering access to 5AVS4 you programs for $49 for the year. I think if you just wanted the video editor, then $49 for the year is a bit steep.

I have used AVS since shortly after it was released. I have purchased licenses for every computer I've used it on because it's just a handy tool to have!

Pros

I love the diverse options to build simple videos coupled with the robust features to build complex projects.

Cons

The video manipulation tools are a little lacking. Such as, clear and easy speed controls. Frame creation and blurring when a video is slowed down. Also, the editing timeline is a little finicky when making cuts and shifts. You have to lock all other tracks you aren't manipulating or the cuts/edits will happen across all tracks.
