Unveiling the Customer Experience at PayAnywhere/North American Bancard

Reviewed on 2024/03/06

The review for PayAnywhere/North American Bancard is as follows:

PayAnywhere/North American...

The review for PayAnywhere/North American Bancard is as follows:

PayAnywhere/North American Bancard operates under a veil of deception and incompetence that permeates every aspect of their business. The leadership, notably [sensitive content hidden] and corporate staff, deliberately shield themselves from customer interactions, preferring to hide behind an army of call center and remote support staff who seem to lack any semblance of autonomy or genuine care for customers. Attempts to escalate concerns to management are met with a brick wall of scripted responses and a frustrating lack of accountability.

Customer service at PayAnywhere/North American Bancard is a nightmare, characterized by poor English skills among representatives and a shocking absence of empathy. Engaging with their support staff feels like conversing with robots programmed to recite predetermined scripts, leading to prolonged wait times and unresolved issues that leave customers feeling unheard and undervalued.

The company's software development is plagued by incompetence, manifesting in a slew of technical glitches that have serious implications for users. Reports generated by their software are notoriously inaccurate, potentially leading to legal complications with tax filings. Transactions are marred by errors such as inflated tip amounts and unauthorized charges, causing confusion and frustration for customers. Hardware malfunctions are common, with devices freezing during transactions and requiring frequent reboots, disrupting business operations and causing unnecessary delays.

In a blatant display of disregard for customer rights, PayAnywhere/North American Bancard arbitrarily imposes new fees in violation of contractual agreements, showing a blatant disrespect for transparency and fair business practices. When faced with legitimate complaints and disputes, the company resorts to predatory debt collection tactics, harassing individuals over contested charges and demonstrating a complete lack of willingness to engage in meaningful dialogue with customers.

In conclusion, PayAnywhere/North American Bancard embodies the worst aspects of corporate greed and customer neglect. Their unethical practices, subpar services, and mistreatment of customers paint a grim picture of a company that prioritizes profit over integrity. Steer clear of this company if you value ethical business practices and respect for customer rights.

Pros

Despite the negative aspects of PayAnywhere/North American Bancard, one positive feature is their free equipment placement program. Initially, a contract was signed for a nominal monthly fee of $14.95 for software access, with no additional hardware or fees. For several years, the company adhered to this agreement. When a technical issue arose and tech support suggested an upgrade, assurances were given that no extra charges would apply based on the existing contract. However, upon receiving the upgraded machine, an unauthorized monthly hardware fee was imposed. Despite regular refunds upon complaint, the fee persisted. Additionally, an unexpected annual regulatory fee was deducted from the user's account without authorization. After contentious discussions, PayAnywhere/North American Bancard agreed to refund only half of the fee if the account was retained. Following a full dispute of the charge, the account was terminated, leading to subsequent debt collection harassment.

Cons

Poor customer service with inadequate English skills and lack of compassion

Inaccurate reports generated for tax purposes

Doubled tip amounts reported for random transactions

Declination message for credit card but still charged

Frequent hardware freezing during transactions

Arbitrary addition of new fees breaching contracts

Unfair debt collection practices post-service termination

Refusal to listen to customer complaints

I never had any issue with payanywhere when using- I do recommend it for those who are looking for a hassle free card service if need something basic. I wanted something with more features and options when business grew.

Pros

1st starting a business it is great & easy. Fees are very low and can track sales & clients easily.

Cons

Becoming busier in my job it didn't have a lot of features beyond the basics that other competitors of payanywhere had. Invoicing, Scheduling, Gift Cards, & Even a debit/credit card associated with the account are a few things they could add to entice people to stay with them.

Lackluster Payment Solution

The system as a whole, gets the job done. But everything really is a mess. The inventory system is archaic, and if you try to use the "variable price" feature, your Quantity on Hands will get all screwed up. They boast integrations with Quickbooks Online, but it doesn't work; further, you cannot get any one to offer support on the integration topic. The system glitches all the time at the POS while trying to process transactions. It hangs up on cash transactions all of the time, causing duplicates. The same thing happens occasionally with credit card transactions. It hangs up, or bails out half way and calls it a "Split Payment". Even though the payment did process and will only be charged to the customer once, the total will duplicate itself in all of your reports. Again, customer support has been unable to offer any kind of satisfactory remedy or fix.

Pros

Low monthly-fee and the ability to pass on processing fees to our clients by using an automatic cash discount program.

Cons

The lack of any kind of advanced features, ongoing issues with bugs, and lack of competent support agents have made using this software very displeasing.

1. Customer service is nearly useless - could not fix my problem after 3+ phone calls then gaslit me telling me my internet is too slow 2. This month I found a payment that had not cleared, I called and was lied to about what happened 3. Set up a verbal password to bypass checking my info, they "misheard" me? Whats the point then!

Pros

You do not need ink for the receipt printing.

Cons

The worst company on the market today. Avoid them at all costs,

Pros

The overall customer service was fair. Everything else was a dismal failure!

Cons

They made me go through many hoops to gain final approval. After 1 month, they started freezing customer payments. They received customer payments but stopped transferring payments to my bank. The worst part is that they didn’t bring this to my attention. I only figured this out after performing a random audit. There were no phone calls, email correspondences, or red flags attached to my account. They basically stole my money! I immediately closed my account and I told them to keep the money that they froze because they wanted to make me go through more hoops to gain access to my money. This company needs to be shut down and promptly investigated!

I have been using this for several years. I like that clients can add a tip onto it. They also take out their fees before depositing your money which I also like.

Cons

I don't like that I have to keep sighing into the app every time I want to use it. You create a 4 digit pin but it doesn't let you use that to sign in???

I use this payment processing in conjunction with Square and overall it's a great processor.

Pros

Great software, the fees are great and comparable to others in the industry. I use two processors as we have separate banks for the business and this software offers quick and easy payment processing and deposits without any hassle.

Cons

I have yet to experience any cons with the software to date. I keep up with the software updates, so maybe that's why.

PayAnywhere Mobile is great for cashing out our clients, and it's mobile nature pairs well with our wireless card readers.

Pros

The software itself is very functional and once you have the hang of it is very simple to use. It is pretty easy to learn it's functions.

Cons

The software does rely a little too much on drop down lists and such, some features are nested in a multitude of options. It also times out and makes you log back on too frequently.
