Pros
Its easy to use
Allows you to back and clone drives with one click
Highly responsive support team
Cons
Downloading the software requires a bit of back and forth checking emails and then getting the link which if your network was acting up like mine was doing at the time, I almost thought it was no longer available to download.

Pretty Essential for Managing & Maintaining Your PCs

I regard it as an essential element of running & maintaining several PCs. It is much better than the prior backup provider (Nova), and serves the entire PC - Windows included - where data-oriented backups (e.g. OneDrive, Google, Norton) don't cut it.
Pros
It is a pretty rock-solid backup platform that covers you with file-level, disk-level and pre-boot backup & restoration. It has saved me quite a number of times from difficult situations.
For example, I have a couple of programs (including Macrium) that occasionally lose their key settings files on one of my computers. If I can't restore in a simpler way, I can restore the last good copy from a backup with a minimum of fuss, seeing & even opening the file(s) in question before restore.
Macrium is also very useful in preparing a new HDD/SSD for use by copying whole disks or partitions.
Lastly, there is occasional crapware that does something to my system that I can't figure out. Typically, the easiest solution is to simply restore from a backup a day, a week or sometimes a month prior. Viola! Problem solved.
Cons
Their new X version is a subscription based service that is now expensive. I prefer to buy my software.
Getting thru to support is often a futile effort. Support has its own site, but their system doesn't recognize my credentials and I never received the reset key. Emails to their sales department about the issue are just ignored. At the moment, I can't obtain the support I paid for.
In the past, when I was in contact with support, they would too often deny the reality of the issue I faced (and still face) such as the settings files disappearing.

For future reference, you can obtain support without going through the system by emailing [email protected]. This will create a ticket for you. Failing that, my personal email is attached to this review.
Also, we do offer a perpetual version for business through our LTSC licensing program, this is ideal for customers who purchase larger or regular volumes need a one-time license, security critical updates only, and option of a 3 or 5 year support package.

If you offer a “Free Trial” to entice a potential buyer to purchase your product, it would be prudent to offer support if the potential buyer has a problem. It’s like a car dealer offering a test drive of a new car, but ignoring you if the car breaks down.
I will not be buying the software, and I’ll post negative reviews for a less than satisfactory experience.
Pros
It was easy to setup and set up an image backup
Cons
I couldn’t get restore to work. When I requested assistance they responded that there was no support for the free trial and directed me to their knowledge base. I couldn’t find a resolution to my problem there.
Response from Paramount Software
Larry,
I'm really disappointed that you got this response. We all know that 100% of people who can't get a trial to work don't buy the product, so we *do* support free trials and I'd encourage anyone who is told otherwise to contact us. NB: To be clear, we don't support users of our former free product, which has been discontinued - a free trial is supported.

Overall, I am very satisfied with Reflect. Since I also use the site manager, managing my computers is easy and very reliable. On top of that, I'm glad that the software doesn't require a cloud. I want to be able to save my backups locally without any cloud constraints. This works very well with Reflect (also with the SiteManager).
Pros
The software is very reliable and has never let me down.
Cons
The Windows PE environment is not so easy to understand for beginners and is somewhat confusing. It would be desirable to simplify the user interface (Acronis is better in this respect).

Very good. For our money, the best on the market. Priced very reasonable and competitive. Wouldnt recommend it to casual users - simply to complicated to use.
Pros
does what it says, seems reliable and stable, have used it for business critical restores succesfully. Flexibel, overall the best solution we have tested and implemented.
Cons
Confusing interface, things not organized intuitively, you really have to use it regularly to remember how to do stuff.
The warning about purging before a backup is not secure enough, Its way to easy to accidentially do an unintended purge, that needs to be made more secure.

I am a developer. My work in progress is always at risk on a local laptop. Even though we have good source control and production data is safe, if my laptop fails it can be a major irritation. Being able to quickly restore a machine to what it was this morning mitigates that. I have a rotation of daily, weekly, and monthly backups on Macrium. Disaster has not yet struck, but I am ready.
Pros
Setup is easy, and operation is not overly intrusive
Cons
Just the fact that I have to backup at all; that there is a risk that my machine will need restoring, is the worst part.

It has always been a rock solid backup utility, I use it for all our PC's either through Reflect Workstation or via Macrium Site Manager for remote recovery.
If a PC is trashed or a new HD installed then the Rescue media on a USB stick can always do the job.
Pros
Simple answer, It has not yet let me down in restoring a backup to a PC or server when it has been necessary to do so.
Also being able to mount a backup as a drive to access files without having to do a restore is a big plus point.
Cons
Nothing comes to mind, the only annoyance can be when an update or fix comes through, occasionally a reboot is required. Not really a dislike and just an observance.

I've been using Macrium Reflect for maybe 8 years now. It's pretty easy to set up and use. Single user price is reasonable, annual support is reasonable, and from time to time, it saves my bacon.
Pros
Ability to backup complete system image (which allows me to restore those pesky registry settings with no hassle)
Cons
I have to compute how many full, differential and incremental backups I can maintain on my external drive based on their average size. Before I started doing that, I would get errors upon failing to backup and not understand from the error message that it wasn't just deleting the oldest image to make room.

My Secret Weapon

Reflect Workstation has been my secret weapon in my sys admin toolbox. It has saved me numerous times and continues to be an asset. I actually hope to get it approved as one of our enterprise tools this year when it comes time to buy software at the end of the year.
Pros
I like the speed and simplicity of the software. In fact, I buy this with my own money for our bare metal imaging and backups and keep it as my little secret weapon. We have an enterprise imaging solution but it isnt as simple as reflect especially when bringing down an image on different hardware. It requires several lengthy steps to capture a bare metal image/backup of a disk. I also really like the ability to actually mount an image and explore the files and folders. When its time to buy software next year I hope to present it as a necessary tool I have been using so I dont have to spend my own money.
Cons
It took me several reads to figure out if I was upgrading to reflect x workstation or just renewing reflect 8. Even the quote and final payment page didnt specify which version I was going to get. I just hoped for the best and went for it anyway. The only other thing I wish Reflect could do is remote backups but that is not a deal breaker for me.

Saved My Laptop

The one time I needed it, it worked and paid for itself many times over.
Pros
We have used Macrium Reflect for years. With 2 online backup systems I wondered whether it is was still worthwhile. Three months ago my Win10 laptop decided to totally destroy itself. I tried Windows Restore but that didn't work. Fortunately, I had run a full backup the night before and with a bit of help from a friendly techie, it was reasonably straight forward restore - and as if by magic everything worked again. That was a huge win because otherwise, we would need to have wiped the machine and done a clean Windows restore and then load all my software.
For security reasons we manually connect and run our backups on external drives. This process is against my preference for automated systems. However, it worked seamlessly, did exactly what it was supposed to do and I was both impressed and relieved.
Cons

The best Hard Drive cloning software out there.
Reviewed on 2019/08/12
Pros
The amount of use I have gotten out of this software is astounding. First of all, the free version works wonders. The paid versions works even better. Doesn't let you complete a clone unless it knows it's going to fully work. I am impressed by Macrium, and every technician in our shop trusts this software for clones and copies of HDD's.
Cons
The updates are tedious and notifications can get annoying, but that's a small price to pay for how incredible this software is.
