I am unable to update my previous review but I need to make sure future buyers have good info. BRM did provide a full refund of my purchase. I have been following the release of 2.0 in which it is apparent they have fixed the issues with customers booking from their mobile devices. I have since used competing products and am confident BRM is the best software for multiday rentals.

The back end of BRM is and always has been amazing in helping to track your inventory, keep up on maintenance, and quickly see the status of your business. I will be moving back to BRM 2.0 in the near future.

I have tried or had demos of every competing product and none can match their features. I have not been in contact with BRM since leaving last year, this review was not solicited. If your shop does rentals, especially multiday this is the software you need!

Pros

Customer Service. Best rental software for multiday Rentals and links with Lightspeed.

Cons

I had listed cons in my last review but they have since been addressed or in the process of being addressed with their BRM 2.0.

Overall my experience has been excellent, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has either helped where required or directed me to the appropriate person or link. Any tickets raised have been resolved in very good time.

Pros

The accurate usage data was lacking before, we can accurately price bikes at the end of their use on our fleet.
Maintenance records mean no more paper or excel! A massive reduction in man hours.
Online booking has transformed our hire business.

Cons

For want of a better way of saying it, a grasp of tech makes the setup easier. All covered in help topics and with support. Its easy to get going and navigate but if you are capable with tech and back office of various software you would be much quicker. Nothing off putting but an honest reflection from someone that's about a 6/10 on the tech capability.

Dealing with BRM is great. Technically, it could use a bit more customization for a rental business like ours. Overall, it's a good product and serves it's purpose well.

Pros

Customer service is fantastic. Very quick to respond, understands my questions better than I do, and always has an answer (albeit not always a solution) that makes sense and allows for understanding between my team and BRM. Keep up the great communication as you work towards building out your feature set.

Cons

Feature sets didn't match up extremely well with our business initiatives. However, we were still able to get the job done with what is currently offered.

Pros

BRM to Stripe to XERO(accounting software) integration made book keeping much more efficient and online payments increased.

When given the option to complete a booking form or express booking via BRM the majority of customers choose to use BRM

Cons

Training staff how to make manual bookings and use brm.

Setting up bike servicing processes.

Glitches with loading the app.

Limited functionality on mobile device.

Pros

Online bookings increased. Easy to train staff to use and customers to book bikes.

Cons

There's alot of potential to completely automate and integrate with other tech, apps and crms. Finding time to schedule time to explore this potential and create a road map specific to River Riders with BRM is very challenging.

Ease of use, organization, lay out, features are not limited to your package, excellent support and follow up.

Cons

Adding users was easy, but our users did have a difficult time actually resetting passwords and getting logged in the first time.

There was an answer for every scenario I tossed at their support team, and most of it was easy to find in the online support manual (which was exceptionally easy to use and narrowed down on the right tutorial almost immediately). This program instantly felt top notch as soon as the trial started. Bravo!

Easy to understand user interface.
Also very easy to swap assets on bookings and customize dates.

Cons

The removal of the battery system and barcode mode on the maintenance side. We had a completely digitized method of checking bikes and to see what was ready / available which has been removed on the latest overhaul. I hope this feature comes back!

Regarding your comments about the battery and barcode mode...
Actually, both features exist in BRM2.0 and are better than ever. Many apologies for not making that clear enough!
We just renamed them to avoid confusion.
'Battery' became 'service points' (to avoid confusion with all e-bikes)
'Barcode mode' became 'Handsfree Mode' (to avoid confusion with other parts of the system which support barcodes)
We'll reach out in person to arrange 1-1 training for these items.

Bike Rental Manager has changed the nature of my business. The team at BRM is responsive and helpful. The product is improving weekly. I would recommend it.

Pros

BRM has allowed me to have complete control over my rental fleet. No more guessing which bikes are supposed to go where, no more overbooking, no more angry customers.

Cons

BRM is going through some major updates and improvements. The team at BRM is so fast that sometimes the updates catch my employees off guard. Getting this level of detail and control can create complexity in the user interface, and while there is consistent improvement in the product , you need daily exposure to the system and UI to be proficient.

BRM gets our operations much easier than it was before.
The shared inventory between on-line and in store gear is a key tool to be able to rent on-line without compromising our operations.

Cons

There is no local on-line payment processor for my country (Chile). It gets us a lot of work manually processing reservations

Obviously there were some bugs, which would have made it difficult to use if this hadn't been a year with few orders due to lock downs

Pros

Perfect for bicycles rental shop.
The management of deliveries, at least in my fundamental case, is unfortunately a separate module (this is the reason for the 3 stars on functionality)

Cons

on smartphone (ANDROID) it cannot be used, fields are missing and the screen does not scroll

We sampled, tested and immersed ourselves in all systems we could find for bike rental. BRM was the obvious choice and on the occasions we needed assistance - the online help facility and personal help was exceptional!

My confidence in our new venture is supported by [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and the BRM system!

I can not be more positive! The future is bright!

It is set up in a way that makes it very intuitive to use.

Cons

Only because my business is different to other bike hire businesses, it would be good to have inventory management capabilities that deal with the complexities of the different services my company offers. Therefore meaning the meta model in place enables both bicycles and bicycle accessories to have a one-to-many relationship to the various service packages offered.

We're a small shop but do a big rental business. We really needed a comprehensive system that was within our price range, and BRM was the answer. We've been using it for a year now and it has improved our efficiency greatly, plus the Online Booking Wizard has reduced our workload tremendously.
I was going to give only 4 stars for ease of use, but I have to say that simplicity hinders flexibility; something this powerful will take a bit of time to master, yet my staff was using the system successfully within 1-2 days. And the customer support deserves 6 stars, so my review would average out to 5 stars anyway. Make that 6-1/2 because value deserves 6 stars as well. My compliments to Doug and his team, despite the difference in time zones, we always get quick answers to our questions, and their on-line Knowledge Base is very comprehensive as well.

It would be nice if there were all menu items in German. Then the incorporation of employees would be a little faster. But you can not have everything ;-) We are happy so far!
