PIA VPN is cheap but it simply works out of the box and has been pretty solid. However, I decided to move to another provider with a more relatable business ethic and because I wanted its whole ecosystem. This decision wasn’t motivated by any PIA’s shortcoming, I just found a more comprehensive offer. Customer care has been quite quick and helpful to refund me, although they tried to talk me back into the product despite a clear and dry intention to get the 30-days no question asked refund

Pros

This VPN just works, it’s as simple as installing the app, creating an account (fully anonymously if you want to go to such lengths) and use it. Ping times and speed have been good throughout the first month, there is plenty of servers from all around the world, and it’s easy and quick to setup without too many bells and whistles (partly a pro and partly maybe a con)

Cons

The apps are a bit rudimentary but your not supposed to look at them for more than a few seconds, many times just the time of a couple of clicks. I did not appreciate the subscription being set to auto renew by default and having to disable that by accessing my online account (never mentioned in the setup / buying process) and not through the app - one needs to go a bit of a great length to notice it and disable it.

If you are looking for a professional dedicated / static IP VPN services stay away from PIA. We notified a few problems (dedicated IP in Frankfurt non accessible) a couple of weeks ago and it is still pending.

Pros

Simply to install and apps easy to use. Cost can be compared to the other players on the market.

Cons

VPN with dedicated IP. Absoluteley not reliable.

A Decent Cheap VPN, With Sometimes Spotty Service

I've been using PIA for over a year now, and for the most part I'm happy with it, though it can sometimes be slow or have connectivity issues.

When this happens I usually have to turn off the VPN and connect directly through my ISP, it's annoying, but not a deal breaker. I guess you get what you pay for, but with the very affordable price of the 3 year plan it's a reasonable tradeoff.

The app itself seems well designed and has a lot of configuration options. Examples include connection protocol, support for split tunneling, a kill switch to prevent specific apps or the entire OS from connecting over the ISP connection, etc.

Pros

PIA VPN is one of the more affordable options, especially if you sign up for one of their 3 year deals.
PIA also appears to value user privacy and has a no tracking policy
Works well as a VPN for accessing region specific content and shopping deals
Well designed VPN app with features like Split Tunneling and a Kill Switch.

Cons

I have found PIA VPN to often have spotty service. Most of the time it works ok for normal browsing, but there are often long periods of slow speeds or connectivity issues, usually across multiple servers.

The mobile app is pretty flakey, so don't expect to use PIA on your phone.

I tried the Nord VPN trial, but at the time there were no good offers and it was hard to justify another subscription based on Nords prices. I later found PIA had a very good offer on a 3 year plan and am currently half way through the term.

Reliable vpn that doesn’t keep logs

Pros

I have been using them for years. They are reliable constantly add more locations

Cons

Their servers get flagged by google and then google blocks access with recapta which is annoying

Pros

PIA VPN provides strong security which is something that I really need. The speed of connection to each of the servers is really fast. And the privacy protection is really good.

Cons

Sometimes the support is not the best and there is no free trial for testing.

Decent VPN For An Inexpensive Dedicated IP

Pros

It's a good all around VPN, but I'm only using it for their dedicated IP address, which is cheaper than other providers. They give generous discounts for long term commitments.

Cons

Not thrilled about PIA being bought out by Kape Technologies, which is why I only use it for one specific purpose.

I've found PIA very easy to set up and use on my windows machines as well as my Android smartphone and tablet. One click of a button and I know that I'll be connected to a secure VPN with no way for anyone else to track my online path.

Pros

I like how easy it is to use PIA on both my windows machines and my android smartphone and tablet. One click on the taskbar widget and I'm connected.

Cons

The thing I like least about PIA VPN is the sometimes slow connection to the chosen VPN region

Cheap VPN option, works as expected

Im not 100% sure if it is required, but I have used the VPN to help protect my internet connection when browsing using thirdparty networks. The cost was very affordable and worth the service it offers.

Pros

The desktop and mobile apps are very easy to use, it is possible to choose which country you want to appear to be from. It is possible to enable a Kill switch which will disable your internet when the VPN is nolonger connected. have just used the connection mainly when connecting to open wifi connections in cafes etc. Have not had any issues.

Cons

Have not had any problems so far. The program is simple to use and works as expected.
