Materio is easy to use, has great customer service ([sensitive content hidden] is a gem!) and the software has completely streamlined our process both externally with our clients and internally as a team. It has made budgeting way easier and more transparent, and I love having all our tasks and timelines in one place to keep us on schedule. We have received positive feedback from both clients and the builders we work with, and overall has made our workflow much more efficient, streamlined, and keeps everyone in the loop. We are truly so happy with Materio and excited to see new features roll out.
Pros
- The scope outline is very clear and easy for our clients to digest
- It has made budgeting and scheduling projects so much more transparent with our clients and easier for our team to manage
- Client approvals now come so much faster and is a lot easier for clients to review options and give us feedback
- Purchasing is way more streamlined and our accountant loves how everything is synced in a clean way with Quickbooks
- We like the feature to enter tracking into our purchase orders and how their arrival dates show up on our calendar.
- Adding tasks in the timeline view under our design phases has been very helpful! The ability to add our process template to a new project is great.
- It's a teachable software that will allow our team to grow and business to scale.
- [sensitive content hidden] is an absolute gem! He's so quick to respond and extremely helpful and kind! We really enjoy communicating with him.
Cons
- I wish the timer was a bit more flexible. Would be nice to hit the play button and then log our info (project, scope, and notes) at the end before we hit stop.
- Would be nice to see our gantt chart also in a calendar view. Our clients find it a bit cumbersome to scroll sideways for a long period of time.

Customer service is always amazing and take feedback to continue improving features to make it more user friendly. Sometimes feedback is applied within a week or two of mentioning it.
Pros
Integration of design/selections and ease of use
Cons
Not much I don’t like, but they are always improving based on customer feedback. A few minor things I’d love to see updates on, but still leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.

It has been way, way harder to onboard and use and the cost is so high that I would not redo the choice to join but I am too deep in to switch. It hasn't been worth the cost upgrade of leaving something that was under $100 a month to what we pay now. It is a huge expense for me as a small business, and I haven't saved that in time or effort
Pros
I like the photos by room that show what is in each space
Cons
I dont like that we cant send a full view of the costs of an items in a format of an invoice for approval

The Project Management Game-Changer!
Reviewed on 2024/10/10
Pros
Materio is basically a 'one-stop-shop' project management system, offering all of the features and services on ONE platform that our company was previously using THREE for! From client interface and communication to internal tasks and communication, planning and budgeting to procurement and product tracking, time tracking, bookkeeping/accounting, and MORE - it has truly been a game-changer for our team!
Another pro of Materio is the multiple 'help' features it offers if/when issues/questions arise, especially during the onboarding phase of new Materio users. Between the AI Materio bot, tutorial videos, and live webinars, Materio provides all of the tools to help make the learning process easy and, if you can't find the answer(s) you're looking for in one of the above, there is always a friendly, knowledgeable (human!) Customer Success team member available via webchat to help guide and answer any questions.
Additionally, we love being able to suggest/request new system features (that they actually take into consideration) as well as being able to see what features are currently in development and/or recently launched. Materio is constantly improving their system to accommodate the business needs of their users.
Overall, Materio is an excellent program and we highly recommend it to any business in search of a new project management system. Thanks for all you do, Materio Team!
Cons
Materio is not the cheapest platform we have used, but given all that it has to offer to a business, it truly is worth every penny.

Cons

The reason I titled my review "Misterio (aka Materio): Our Love, Hate Relationship" is because I firmly believe Materio will be able to help solve a lot of our internal struggles with project management and it does have the majority of the things I have been looking for in a software project managing tool. My only gripe is that it feels like were are still in the very Beta stages of the program and I wish more research and consultation with Design Build firms specifically would had been done before launching it and offering it in the market. I think a lot more testing should have been done with these types of companies prior to advertising and selling Materio as a solution for a Design Build firms. It has actually not saved me time like I was hoping. It has been a bit of a time sink since there are so many things that are still being flushed out. I also didn't appreciate the pricing jumping from the original advertised price of under $150/month to almost double that now. The pricing was one of the main factors I switched over and for it to quickly go up shortly after I signed up was also disappointing. HOWEVER, like I said at the beginning of my review, I do believe Materio will be a viable solution and I do hope to one day really really love Materio!
Pros
The ability to keep track of all the details for each project and most of all the ability to do take offs.
Cons
The finances and processing purchase orders, invoices, and expenses.
Response from Materio

It's been a boost to our business, given us a professional way to interface with jobs and keep clients updated on their projects. It helps keep us accountable and move items & projects forward.
Pros
Visual organization of multiple projects of varying scopes and the ability to toggle between them. The full process of budgeting to execution can be managed with this tool, and it's the most user friendly of all the options I have tried.
Cons

Materio is incredibly robust, the team is fantastic/responsive/knowledgeable, and the software is actually fun to use. There is a copious amount educational/training material and the chat bot is pretty flawless. I only wish I'd made the switch from Houzz sooner!
Pros
Is "everything" an answer? Materio has gotten in the heads of interior designers to anticipate our needs before we do and is constantly adding new features to better support our day-to-day. It is the most robust (and beautifully designed) software I've used to date. I'm a huge fan of client and GC portals - makes sharing the latest drawings and finish schedules impossibly easy.
Cons
No cons for me. There were a few features I wanted to see before making the switch but they jumped on it quickly and I haven't looked back since.
Reasons for Choosing Materio

It's been wonderful. The customer team is extremely helpful, the product is always improving. The integration to quickbooks and the precision with managing budgets and payments is lovely. and the clients love to visualize the user interface. the addition of mood boards linked to products has been a game changer. We've been on board since the beginning!
Pros
constantly implemented consumer feedback to make the platform easier to use and more robust
Cons
hard to discern product costs incurred between different parties involved in construction. the end user isn't clear - i.e. we are architects, not the GC, so we aren't responsible for pricing or budgeting nearly everything, but we do do some purchasing. We'd like to be able to manage or rather, not own, numbers alot of the time, but want to capture scope and specifications. Getting the GC to utilize the tool can be a challenge when they already likely have another estimating software that they utilize. We'd love to minimize the number of systems a client has to interact with.

We started using Materio a few years ago, but really have integrated it fully about 6 months ago. Like with any new tool, you have to learn how to use it figure out the best way to apply it to your business, but overall we are super happy with how our projects are organized, how we can communicate with our clients, and also how easily we are able to put together quotes and contracts! We look forward to continue using the platform as it gets better and better!
Pros
We love the user interface. The scope of work makes us look like we know what we're doing. We like that all our projects are in one central location.
Cons
Our main pain point (which in the scheme of things is minor) has to do with the accounting/expense side of the platform. They do offer a way to sync with quickbooks, but it requires you to manually add each expense, which proves to be a very tedious process if you have 7 projects going on. We are hoping there is a way to import a batch of expenses from a qbo export to save some man hours in the future. Our solution or workflow now is at the end of each month, export an expense report from quickbooks and have someone in the office input all the expenses to match our quickbooks side of things. The reason we do this is because we like the user experience of invoicing through materio with receipts uploaded, etc.

Pros
Materio is very easy to learn and master quickly. The functions are organized clearly and most importantly with thought to a designer's flow.
Cons
There is still a gap with the CRM side. It is great internally but needs more functions for client interaction (think Basecamp).

10 out of 10, again can't sing their customer service higher praises. The best part is being able to manage, truly every aspect of our projects on the platform. Sourcing, design library, takeoffs, scope of work, internal communication, client communications, selections, upload plans, take payments - everything!! And sure, software like Ivy claim they offer this but it is nothing like the streamlined functionality of Materio.
Pros
We love everything about Materio!! This is the best design-build software on the market. We have tried several software, including Ivy, Builders Trend, and Studio Designer, and even built our own on Monday. Nothing compares to the integrations with Quickbooks and Materio's customer support. The support is everything!! Clients LOVE it!!
Cons
There are a few hiccups in the QBO transfer of information, but it is way better than any other integration from another software. It also isn't enough of an issue to consider another software. The best part is they are an agile software company constantly improving, so we anticipate this not being an issue for too long.
Response from Materio
