This has been the easiest to use event software I've ever encountered, and it has been critical to our success in the Facility Events department. While there a few features it lacks, it backs those up with one of the best calendar systems I have experienced along with robust reporting capabilities.

Pros

The calendar is very well designed, enabling users to view space availability in separate calendars and incorporate crucial information like setup time, attendance, type of event, etc.

Cons

We wish there was a timeline or event detailing feature that allowed us to go more in depth with the various event logistics.

Cons

Hard to run reports. I wish we had an age limit in memberships that would automatically based on the DOB would move to the next one.

I am enjoying learning the program and all it has to offer. Looking forward to the day I am comfortably familiar with everything.

Pros

Customer support is great and once you understand the program, it feels more user friendly.

Cons

Figuring out the "whys" of how something is setup. Active web support can be a bit of a challenge to find specifics.

ActiveNet is Great

Reviewed on 2024/03/28

Pros

I like ActiveNet because it makes it easy for my facility to check members and rent out equipment. We can customize the program to our facility which makes it easy as well.

Cons

The only thing I don’t like about ActiveNet is the number of times we have to verify who we are when logging in.

Everything under one roof!

Reviewed on 2024/03/28

Pros

ACTIVE Net has many features all included in one product (registration, membership, billing, scheduling, etc.). Before, we had to use multiple systems to accomplish these tasks.

Cons

There definitely is a "learning curve" to understanding and using the product.
The credit card readers are glitchy.

ActiveNet for Education

Reviewed on 2024/03/28

Pros

Many different features, especially the robust reporting was extremely valuable to us.

Cons

Ease of use, mostly. Customers complained about the UI, and setting up complex reports like the Transaction Export was tough for staff. Sometimes we couldn't customize things in the ways we wanted. Our biggest drawback was that the only way we could merge customer payment plans was by putting the classes in a package bundle. Sometimes our customers by 5 classes at a time, and it would be problematic if their card was charged several times on payment plan day.

We had a really intensive set up and training process with our Active Net representative, so we weren't totally on our own.

Pros

We like that it integrates many different city functions into one overall platform for all employees to use. We can also limit functions for certain employees to maintain simplicity.

Cons

As with any new platform, it can be tough to learn the most efficient ways to navigate through the platform. We also had to build every component from scratch.

Overall, we like Activenet because it keeps us organized and gets our company off a paper and pen system.

Pros

Activenet is a powerful educational programming software tool. It is highly adaptable for all kinds of programs and faculties for both private lessons and group programs. It makes managing inventory, staff contact lists, sign-ins, program lists, registration fairly easily.

Cons

Activenet is a very large learning curve for new staff. It is hard to train to new staff and requires a lead staff who can oversee its evergrowing functionality. Being on Internet Explorer also has it's quirks and can make using it on different types of computers problematic. The program is expensive and sometimes you cant adapt certain functionality to your needs. Their development team rarely follows through on making customized improvements to suit your companies needs. Some of the features are out of date & do need updating shortly to maintain a competitive edge for the future.

Experience has been very positive. Implementation was a lengthy process, but we had excellent support to get it done. We use it for memberships, POS, facility booking and program registration and camps. Reports are excellent.

Pros

The registration system for camps is excellent. Online registrations is great and easy to use.

Cons

Facility booking was very difficult to use and not user friendly. ActiveNet listens to their customers though, and they have created a new one that is much improved. Still some glitches, but getting better.

Response from Global Payments

What I like most about this software is that it takes care of everything my business needs. There's nothing lacking. And once I learned the basics, learning how to search or change something is pretty easy. I can figure things out without being "trained" by a more experienced co-worker or user.

Cons

From a customer service perspective the team at Active is working with us to address the issues identified as cons. The objective is that the end user experience on the back end is congruent with the end user experience on the front end.

Pros

The business intelligence dashboard is quite robust and provides us with real time data and trends that we are able to act upon.

Cons

The member interface is not user friendly. It is not intuitive and takes the user down virtual rabbit holes that seem to meander without any destination or logic which is quite frustrating and not a good experience.

We are a sport organization with a large membership and have been looking for a management system to assist in the everyday registrations, membership accounts and billing. It is helping us streamline.

Pros

We have used several different management systems and finally found one we can settle down with. The staff have been easy to work with and go out of their way to assist with any issue we have needed. Set up was relatively easy considering the functionality of the software.

Cons

Although the Active program is so all encompassing it can be a struggle learning the system to get the most out of it that we expect.
