Great for organizing projects and clients, keeping track of products and orders, and having everything organized in one easy system I can refer back to at any time.

Cons

I find it difficult to track my actual profit when it comes to furniture discount and markup. There is nothing in the system to tell me a quick overall profit without downloading the entire file.

Cons

Takes too many clicks to get a task accomplished. Made the next version too complicated and not enough pertinent information on the screen but have to click to get to it.Doesn't seamlessly connect to QBooks where your progress bill/invoice.Hate the mood board/sample board. Too clunky.

Mydoma Studio's customer care is second to none, and I'm thoroughly impressed with them and their variety of learning resources for users/ designers.I have tried a few similar programs and have enjoyed using Mydoma the most- incorporating visualisation into my service offering, particularly video walk-throughs, has elevated my business.

Pros

I've only really used the visualiser.I really enjoy the variety of the model library, as well as the post-render editing functions available.My favourite part is the video walk-through function- clients love it!While dabbling with the rest of Mydoma Studio, I like how easy it is to add products into a product library.

Cons

I'm still trying to learn the rest of Mydoma Studio, as above- as much as I like the task manager idea, it would be much more helpful (for me) to have a calendar view, and ultimately to integrate this calendar with my regular email calendar function.

I’m not really using mydoma. I just use it for the visualizer tool. I find it hard to use to make mood boards. The products don’t appear correctly.

I love the rendering software. (Visualizer)

I only switched to mydoma because of the Edesign tribe merger. I actually am not a huge fan of Mydoma. I preferred designfiles but since the merger I switched to mydoma.

Overall I really like the simplicity & ease of use; the learning curve doesn’t take that long; love, love, love the live & online support & speed in answering questions; the video tutorials; and how the share information on the business side of design through video interviews & workshops. You actually feel as if you are part of a design team of like minded people with similar goals & objectives.

Pros

I love much this software “gets” and supports what professional interior designers need in their project workflow. Mydoma studio gives us an easy way to document everything needed in each client’s project file which includes individual Client project files, notes & checklists, proposals, vendor & client lists, docs & files just to name a few. Also being able to access files from any computer & having the ability to share files & information with clients & contractors is awesome. The software & system is close to perfect and I have tried many others that fall short. The team at Mydoma is open to hearing how they can improve the software & actually implement changes based on designer’s recommendations.

Cons

Calendar only uploads the link on my Mac; takes a long time to upload photos due to the ability to load only a very limited # of photos at a time;

Pros

I like that they have tried to think of everything with this software. I love that my scheduler connects. And that I can keep track of everything on one place.

Cons

It’s a little clunky. Somethings are not as intuitive as they may think. I’d like to be able to customize the emails to clients within mydoma with my branding.

It is OK. There is probably a better solution out there for me but I am so busy working on my business and I do like the product catalog (and clipper!) feature so I keep it for that reason.

Pros

I like the product catalog feature and that is what I use the most.

Cons

When they rolled out MyDoma next it became more difficult to fileshare and I am still not sure I know how to do it effectively. My clients are confused by it, even the name is confusing.

I switched to Mydoma because I was an Edesign member and love using their software. When they merged I gave Mydoma a shot and although there's a learning curve it does help with client projects. Customer service is awesome and I just know they'll make updates to the system that will make it even more project friendly.

Pros

Pros of Mydoma is being able to have everything in one place for a client project. I like that they offer an app version and that I can upload all the projects designs, information and renders right into the project rather than emailing.

Cons

There can definitely be an improvement in the moodboard capacity. It is incredibly limited in everything. I'd love to be able to create mood and concept boards like I can in Canva. It would also help to be able to see when clients login, sign in and can track their activity so I'm not constantly having to ask if they signed in to look at certain things. I'd also love to be able to create proposals and document workflows (like lead gathering, subscriptions on my website) and contracts right in Mydoma like I can do in dubsado. Really looking for the software that is the one stop shop.

Somewhat frustrating and time consuming looking for videos on how to do everything. Not as intuitive as I would have hoped.

Pros

The product clipper is a great feature overall.

Cons

I don't like not being able to clip out the white space. I find the client interaction portion confusing for clients and myself. Hard and confusing to navigate within projects and template set ups.

The design board needs more features. I still have to use Canva and I dislike the extra step, I would like to be able to create beautiful design boards in MyDoma. Also, a feature to group the products together and download them grouped together to show the client.

Financial statement is too basic so it's harder to track how much remaining payment required from clients. There is no function to track that much of detailed of money transaction.

Lack of Training. I have now registered for a beginners training session and am excited about it. Mydoma has a lot of training, however it is mostly for ones who already know the software.

The support team at MyDoma has been a dream and are always there to help when you need it. The setup process was challenging, and I still find that I'm trying to figure out how to make the software work best for me, but overall it has helped to improve my business.

I wish I didn't have to do so many "workarounds", however, and that the software had more features to solve some of the issues I've encountered (examples: being able to enter a deposit amount and have invoices deduct from it, rather than having to have this all on a singular invoice. Being able to accept bank transfers in Canada. Use of packages without requirement of purchase online. Ability to delete projects rather than just archive.

Pros

I love that I can easily track my time and include information on how I used the time. When added to an invoice, I find that it provides full transparency to my clients on how their dollars are being spent.

Cons

I wish that there were more payment options available in Canada, and that tax rates were auto-applied.

I started using Mydoma on my first project in my business three years ago and I feel as though they are my business partners. Mydoma keeps me organized and any question can be answered by a few keyboard clicks. If I had to run my business with spreadsheets and printouts I would loose my mind. There is no doubt that I can handle more volume of business with Mydoma. I love it!!!

Pros

The question should be what do I not love? I love everything about Mydoma! My product library is ever expanding which saves me time when designing. The invoice section is imperative to the accuracy of my projects. The personal chat option is great. I also love the community around Mydoma with other designers and the training which Mydoma offers is above and beyond.

Cons

I find the partial payment option unclear as my client do not seem to be able to see my partial payment notes at the bottom of the invoices.

Mydoma has been a game changer for my business and my sanity. Now instead of trying to organize a complex design project via emails and texts, everything stays in one spot and easy to find and collaborate for both me and my clients!

Pros

Mydoma Studio keeps all the many pieces of all my design projects well organized and easy to find for both me and my clients. It is user-friendly and has made my business run so much more efficiently.

Cons

I do think there could be some more detailed features added such as a reminder/task system. I also don’t like how the notification emails don’t show which project the notification is for, as things can get forgotten easier that way.

The software is easy to use and the customer service is outstanding.

Cons

I would like more control in what and how details are displayed on client-facing pages and documents. Specifically, I would like to send invoices that itemize each item, but don't display individual prices, just the total cost.
I would also LOVE to see an iOS app for the software. Viewing the site on a mobile device is clunky and can be quite frustrating.
I would love to see the mood board improved. I currently also pay for Design Files software, and only use their mood board because it is far superior.

I think the value of this program is excellent. Customer service is prompt and easy to contact. While I use other programs in addition to this one, this program makes my smaller jobs really easy to propose, get approved by clients, and execute.

Pros

The software is very easy to set up and get started right away. I love the client interface and the overall look of the software on the back end as well. Layers of organization seem well thought out and are easy to navigate.

Cons

I feel there are still some things that could be better to make it a more comprehensive program. Seamless integration with Google calendars, better exporting features, more task oriented project management with gantt charts and reporting.

Overall, I LOVE Mydoma and it keeps me very organized. The technical support is AWESOME! They really understand the importance of getting all the details right and doing so in a timely fashion. Super quick response time!

Cons

The only issue I have is that clients can not log in from their phones. They have to be on a desk top. I think this is something that is in the works to be updated though.

Great help for Interior Designers

Pros

Easy to catalog favorite sources. Follow up with purchase orders, invoices, and overall project revenue.

Cons

No too friendly for client use. Invoices don't get automatically revised when services or item is revised.

MyDoma has helped our company and clients to be more organized.

Pros

First - the support staff is amazing, accessible and friendly. Second: our clients & contractors have found the program to help then keep up-to-date on the project and communication. Third: the programers are open to new ideas to make the program easier to use.

Mostly: we have become more organized with information to the clients and having one place for all of our emails is wonderful.

Cons

I don't like that you have to "click" off a page to make it go away. Not intuitive.

Adding products is kind of a pain - you have to remember to scroll to the top to click "add product".

We have lost information by not "saving". It would be nice to automatically save as a feature.
