Process for enrolment is long and confusing that should be easy and user can setup initial things quickly.

If your device got lost where you have installed this then there is process of deresgistering and then again follow the same process.

I like how quietly it works, I nearly never have to use the auto-generated code in order to validate my credentials, I like how simple it is and the way this app displays a very useful menu in a little square.

the app only gives you 30 seconds to copy the security code, when I change my passwords on my OS I also have to update the VIP access and go thru the validation process in order to receive the new code by phone call or SMS, instead of updating it automatically

You can really tell how much effort they put into their user design for customer interface. I appreciate the little details like the loading animation when a security code changes.

If you lose your device, the process to unlink the old device and then registering a new device can be tricky - but after following the helpful guides on their website, it was a breeze.

Symantec VIP is a great virtual private network option for any device you use at home or at work. It downloads in seconds and getting set up is very easy. There are a lot of VPN offerings out there, and this one is top notch for not being considered overly expensive.

No cons at this time. Symantec has been doing security for a long time and can be trusted. No need to look further.

It's a minimalist piece of software. I've experienced zero bugs with both the desktop version and IOS version with my physicians. Takes 2 minutes to setup and start working.

I wish it had an 'Always on top" function or a minimized function with the rotating VIP code. Our doctors use this all the time and have to tab back over or park it in a 2nd monitor, which is an extra click every time they send controlled substances using its 2 factor.

It makes it easy to sign in with two-factor authentication by generating the 6 digit code to type in when I sign into the network. It does what it's supposed to do.

It was a little confusing to set up a second device on my account.

Simplicity and effectiveness. It is easy to understand how to use it with simple instructions, doesn't take up time to configure. It is simple to use on your PC or phone.

It makes thing hard when it comes to changing accounts, especially if using a token. If you change your account but have forgotten to log in and delete the existing link to the token, the token basically becomes useless....
You need to have it installed everywhere, if by chance you want to have an easy immediate access in case of emergency.

I have Symantec VIP installed on my phone. This allows me to securely access applications and documents from home. Our organization allows a "push" notification for logging in with this software. I can just type "push" and Symantec alerts me to provide my fingerprint on my phone to grant me access to whatever I am needing. Sometimes I still need to use the code feature but that is easy and all I have to do is tap and hold on the generated code to copy it to my clipboard.

I can't think of any cons to this software. I have heard feedback from others in my organization that they do not have enough time to get the code and use it before a new code is displayed. Feedback from Symantec, however, verified that the codes are good for longer than the display period on the screen (2-3 minutes I believe). Perhaps better clarification on the code page would help reduce the misinformation and client anxiety around this feature.

This system allows me to connect from our business network from and gives me the ability to continue working remotely

I have notice a few times the code shows as avail however when i put it in it does not work, and i have to wait until the new code updates

USING SYMANTEC VIP GIVE EXTRA PIECE OF MIND THAT IMPORTANT AND SENSITIVE INFO IS PROTECTED. IT IS SIMPLE AND EASY TO USE AND THEY EVEN HAVE A MOBILE APP.

THE ONLY ISSUE THAT I HAVE WITH SYMANTEC VIP IS THAT IT DOES NOT ALLOW FOR THE CODE TO UP REFRESHED.

I like mostly that you can keep it open but in your "tray" and just click it once and a small window in the bottom right corner pops up with large font numbers with a count-down digital timer you can see which tells you when the numbers reset.

This software is easy to use and allows me to surf the web without problems. The software runs its diagnostics and I continue to work. It alerts me if there is anything wrong with my computer.

Sometimes it can slow the computer down.

It's a very easy way to provide an extra layer of security. I've never had an issue copying the code from my phone, I find the allotted 30 seconds to be plenty of time. It was fairly easy to set up and I've had no issues using it since my first day.

It does require you to have access to your phone -- sometimes I worry that I will forget my device and that will cause an issue for access. The timer only gives you 30 seconds to copy the six digit authentication code, but that's not an issue for me.

This is a great multifactor authentication and Single sign on solution.

It serves almost all my needs except for the fact that it is 100% cloud based. Which is an issue for organisations need for an on premise solution.

Best feature of this software is proximity unlock. You can skip old fashioned password typing method, just go close to Computer and unlock.

gives some hiccups in newer version of android, sometimes doesn't work in split screen. But these can be managed in newer version(didn't try). Overall good.

It has a large install base, which means there's a lot of knowledgebase articles and support out there.

It's bloated, behind the curve on technology and since it was acquired by Broadcomm, there's no more support unless you're an enterprise customer.

The simplicity of the software makes management a breeze. Setting up remote access with the VIP authenticator takes only a few steps before they are ready to go.

If you switch authentication devices (getting a new phone), resetting the credential can be troublesome occasionally.

I click it and get my code without any other options that I'm not interested in. I can get right to the important thing I need without extra clicks or instructions, as soon as the app is launched.

The timing does dictate that if I click my login on my computer, before I pull up the code on the app, then it doesn't seem to work. but that's such a minor inconvenience when the app functions so well.

This helps our team know that our data is safe, as it helps pair our phones with our laptops while out of the office for an extra layer of security.

This software does not require that users have a password on their phone.
