Using Fitbit as the primary resource for health and lifestyle

My overall experience has been good when tracking the basic trends like step count, heartbeat etc. but I do not find it very reliable for calories burnt and some other features.

Pros

The interface is user friendly and not hard to navigate. The statistics on sleep, irregular heartbeat are more accurate compared to other apps

Cons

The step count can be exaggerated and other cardio like stair climbing can be under recorded. It can be a little inaccurate depending on how snug the watch is worn and the angle of the arm when running or doing any kind of cardio.

Pros

Very easy to use my Fitbit and all apps associated. Customer service has been great when needing an item replaced.

Cons

Honestly, not very little. I was not looking to pay for an apple item, and this was much cheaper with all the qualities that I was looking for.

I've been using Fitbit for several years and enjoy it. It helps with accountability of health metrics and I like receiving the weekly progress report in my email inbox so I can compare my metrics to the week before.

Pros

Ease of tracking health metrics like: heart rate, type of exercise, step count, miles walked, stairs climbed, number of exercise days, number of active minutes, hourly activity, calories burned, sleep duration, menstrual health, weight, and food consumed. The Fitbit also has a stopwatch and timer feature.

Cons

It does not offer a lap feature. Thus, if you want to see how fast you walked in 1 lap and compare it to a second lap, the Fitbit cannot do this.

I never leave home without it. I'm always looking forward to competing with myself in accomplishing more steps then my previous day. I definitely lost a significant amount of weight. I'm a lot more healthier than I was before I purchased the Fitbit. It lowers my blood pressure. It saved my life

Pros

It brings joy to my heart to know that I accomplished thousands of steps which in turn led to multiple miles of exercise throughout my daily work environment

Cons

I disliked the charging apparatus because it wasn't universal like a micro USB charging cable.

A daily reminder to move

Reviewed on 2024/02/22

Pros

Counts steps, reminds me to move, counts my heart rate to keep track of zone minutes, monitors sleep. With a job like mine, which involves a lot of sitting, it helps me be intentional about moving throughout the day. Taking care of my health makes me a better therapist

Cons

It was glitchy to initially set up with the phone app. But I called and a person talked me through it

I help my clients with performance goals - fitness, career and family. And while Fitbit has been responsive when a device fails, it has completely ignored my attempts to make them aware of these glaring inaccurate data issues. Because I have two clients with A-Fib, the Sense 2 device has been intriguing but I can't in good conscience recommend the product to these clients without Fitbit addressing and fixing the data error issue. a 5% error rate is tolerable for the type of client I work with - we're not looking at ironman competitors here where every second of training must be accurate and accounted for. In no world where performance improvements measure in fractions of a % is a 40% error acceptable or tolerable.

Pros

Heartrate zone tracking - peak, cardio and fat-burn, sleep score.

Cons

Inaccurate as hell! I use a gps trail tracker for my distance and pace tracking (MapMyWalk and Strava) It's relatively accurate if I walk at a 20 minute per mile pace or slower, within 5% of other devices. However, if I walk the exact same distance at a 17:30 minute pace, I lose 20% of my steps and distance. And if I walk a 15 minute/mile pace, I lose 35-40% of my steps and distance. I've walked officially sanctioned/distance 1/2 marathons such as the St. George Half and Snow Canyon Half marathons, for example with a deficit of over 11k steps being tracked by multiple different Fitbit devices. I've reported this to Fitbit, since it first happened almost 9 years ago, yet nothing has been done to fix this. My race-training friend and I both wear Fitbit and compare notes - she walks faster than me and has noticed the deficit on steps and distance too. If I'm walking a sanctioned race, meaning it has been measured for official distance, Fitbit should at least get me close to 13.1 miles on a half marathon instead of 9 or 10 miles. In order to complete sanctioned races, I need to be pacing a 15 minute mile pace at the slowest. I can't count on my Fitbit for training purposes. Even the heart monitoring has freaked out a few times, registering heart rates that would not be possible to carry on a conversation (or stay out of the E/R for that matter). So definitely something's off. But Fitbit has been unresponsive to fixing the inaccuracy issues

overall great watch for the average joe who likes keeping track of steps and calories burned. the added sleep and stress monitoring is a great feature that will help anyone.

Pros

love the watch- comfortable and easy to scroll through the various functions. The stress management tool is also a great added feature that will get you through the stressful times (me: taking the busy subway ugh!)love the sleep reports that it gives me the next day- great feature that really opens your eyes (no pun intended) to how deep you're actually sleeping

Cons

the heart rate is basic and is rarely accurate when i'm working out. i've watched videos on how to properly wear it, clean it etc but anytime the arms are moving fast it seems like it won't go above 80 bpm. i also use a TICKR tracker at the same time so i definitely know the fitbit sensor is WAY off.

I have had a very pleasant overall experience, almost three years now I think. I wore out one wrist band, but it was easy to go online to buy replacements. FitBit works, gets consistent data and simply does what it says it will do, which alone is a huge positive in today's world.

Pros

The thing I happen to like the most is the wide variety of data available. I particually like the heart beat and sleep info.

Cons

Seems counter intuitive to re-boot. So simply turning off and on is not very easy to do until you know how.

Fitbit User Review

Overall I have enjoyed using Fitbit and have purchased new watches as well as given watches to friends/family as gifts. I would like the cheaper models to have a few more features/updates features as I can't use pay by watch or Uber on my Versa2, despite it having the apps available to add onto the screens.

Pros

I like the step tracking function as I use this daily to link with my GoVida App. I also like the menstrual tracking as I find it to be very accurate. I use the heart rate fitness tracker as well although I'm not sure how accurate this is as it seems to vary quite a bit during the day but I like that it gives me an indication of my cardiac health based on my age and sex.

Cons

My Versa2 does not link with NatWest online banking in order to make use of paying with my watch. I also think the calorie counting part of the app could be improved to make it a bit more user friendly/accessible.

Im so familiar with fitbit that I always love the new products

Pros

I actually won an apple watch in a pitch competition and I was excited to use it, but once i did, i reverted to my fitbit watch. Perhaps because I am older, I cant see the icons on the apple watch as well. But I gave the watch to a much younger coworker and she loves it. So, maybe my review is age specific. But I honestly love the fitbit products. I keep going back to them.

Cons

I honestly have no issues with my watch. It has more functionality than I use but my 2023 resolution is to learn to get the most from it!

My overall experience is positive, I love tracking my activity, it keeps me motivated to stay healthy, which is very important to me. Everyone should have one.

Pros

I love using my Fitbit, I carry it with me 24/7 and has incredible features. My favorite is that it tracks my steps. It's so important to see how active you stay all day and I love the goals that are set for you, whether it's reaching 9 hours of activity (Easy!) or 10,000 steps a day (I deserve some claps, I reach this goal in my 1b1b at least 4 times a week) . You can also track your workouts, and it's awesome that there are already some pre-determined workouts. I believe adults would benefit so much from using it, it tracks the quality of sleep and the oxygen levels, the water intake, even nutrition, but I don't really use it because I would have to use my phone, and honestly, the Fitbit is a great way to take a break from your phone. I have not experienced any issues with the functionality, it never crashed or turned off, it works excellent.

Cons

What I like the least is that it has some apps that are added without even asking me, and honestly, I don't use them and don't care for them, like Strava or Pandora. I'm not sure why they're there, maybe they're partners or sponsors? I don't know. I also don't like that there is a basic and a premium account. I paid over $100 for my Fitbit, therefore I should be entitled to access all the features with no extra charge. If I need to upgrade, I would just buy a new one. This just makes me want to get a much more simple tracker with just a few features.

I use Fitbit myself, and with patients. Monitoring heart rate, oxygen level, and activity/sleep with only one small wrist worn device is highly beneficial. Newer Fitbit models are equipped with EDA scan and ECG. It can identify and alert to AFIB.I was not satisfied with the alarm feature. I had intended on using it as my daily alarm as well as a reminder later in the day. The vibration is weak! If I don't have the device synched down as tight as I can, I don't feel the alarm at all. The alarms cannot be named, making them not as useful as they could be.

Pros

- Monitor vitals, daily activity level, and sleep habits without corded and bulky machines.- Remotely access data.- Community features, work out together.- Mental wellness features.

Cons

- Not as reliable or accurate as hands on monitoring.- Device, subscription, data or wifi, and smart phone needed. Expensive.- Drains phone battery. Patients forget to sync.- Features vary by Fitbit device.

Love the options I can choose from when trying to get help with things like sleep and walking. Has challanges I can do to help give me a boost in striving to do better. I can interact with others and have that support I need to keep trying. Articles to read and recipes too that I can share on my page to help my followers.

Cons

It is great to have my routine of opening my app a seeing where I am in my daily challenge with friends I have made through Fitbit and the chance of being this week.

Pros

Beside getting statistics of health there is the interaction with others individuals with like mind goals to sleeping, eating, and health. A must for those individuals who have a competitive drive, you friend others and challenge them in daily, weekly, or weekend challenges to get the best of you and them.

Cons

The conns with product is lately younger individuals who pop up and with the content of certain jokes that some adults have it may not be appropriate for children. My health insurance provider has a program that rewards me cash for taking at least 7500 steps a day. They integrate with the FitBit program automatically which makes it very easy for me to transfer the data and claim my reward.

Pros

The software is free and integrates with FitBit wrist devices. I get to see a variety of metrics that are created off of the basic information that is synchronized with my wrist device.

Cons
