Pros

The process of getting started was a positive experience. It accommodates various file formats in both 2D and 3D, with useful functions such as import and export. The user interface is easy to use and provides guidance on how to upload files. This platform is ideal for designing in 2D and 3D using the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Cons

The product is of good quality, however, it would be beneficial if there was a free version available that closely resembles the paid version for one-time use.

Floorplan 2024, fast, easy, results

I’m new to working with floor plan design software but have experience with 3DSMax and Cinema 4D. I found Floorplan 2024 to be much easier to use for home design and layout than other tools.

I started with just some basic measurements of the home we’re moving into and managed to build a complete floor plan in just a few hours. There are some key areas to read in the manual that will help, but for the most part it’s relatively easy to watch there tutorial videos and get up and running quickly. The more I used FloorPlan 2024 the more I realized the design decisions of the software and why their approach is very efficient with enough flexibility to provide stunning 3D homes.

Pros

Fastest way to produce a floorplan and place furniture and electrical outlets to visual how a home will look. It has ALL the features needed to produce a floor plan for a construction company to use and implement.

Much of the grunt work is handled automatically with wall widths, ceiling heights, electrical drops, framing, roofing, windows, and doors.

They provide a wealth of content packs that come with ready to use furniture and materials.

Also provide a Custom Workshop tool where you can adjust any of the existing furniture/objects and come up with your own specific furniture which can be added to user libraries.

Lighting works very well with the LuxCore render engine and you can use emissive lighting or actual lighting. All is PBR based so light reflects as it should on object surfaces.

Support was excellent from both forums administrator and support team at TurboCad.

Cons

Very important to read the manuals and go thru training tutorials to fully understand how to produce some amazing final renders of homes.

Rendering time can be slow, even on fast CPUs.

Download servers are very slow.

I have the very pricey Platinum edition which enables a number of features for a better 3D CAD experience.

This is an absolutely essential tool to be able to work with data from many different sources. TurboCAD's ability to import and export and convert between many data forms has saved the day so many times over.

This is not something you pick up and learn in a day. Or a week. Or a month. Even after years of using various versions of TurboCAD, I'm still learning new details of core functionality and behavior that have been there all along.

This is a serious tool that can generate precise and beautiful 2D drawings and 3D models. With proper setup, 3D rendering is beautiful.

The UI is sometimes not as fast and responsive as I might like -- you will want to invest in a fast PC with a high performance GPU to get better experiences.

Pros

This product is a "Swiss army knife" of features.
Performs all core 2D and 3D CAD tasks.
Great "bang for the buck"
Excellent drafting tools.
Very powerful once you know how to use it.

Cons

Very steep learning curve.
Very limited parametric/history modeling.
Mediocre UI/UX for naming objects - hard to use with complex assemblies.

Pros

I live in Argentina and was the only low priced legal 2D CAD I could purchase with credit card, NanoCad (previous suscription) is only available with Paypal that I am not allowed to use.

Cons

TurboCAD Pro for ultimate comfort of Design

Generally the 2D and 3D software of TurboCad is quiet an advanced system and would recommend it over the more expensive types since it is a full house and attracts the more novice designer. I use the software to implement architecture and furniture design mostly and since I have started using the software have more than adequate response to the agility of TurboCad Pro for the value that it is priced at, similar if not more aesthetically pleasing than AutoCad for me anyway and all the tools are easy to find and manipulate which I then rate TurboCad Pro 7 out of 10

Pros

Intuitive and easy to use, much more slim design features than AutoCAD, I use the software with ease but it can take some time mastering all the features, I enjoy working with Turbocad Pro because of its slick ease of use with drawing tools, great for architecture, product design, furniture design, and even engineering, mechanical design . The script in 2D drawings is easy to understand and the 3D features render seemlessly even with 4Gig RAM, love this software

Cons

The software is a bit sluggish when it comes to 3D. The add -ons can be a thing to master but practice makes perfect with frequently saved drawings you can go back and edit layers easily, but not so easy when you haven't already saved for a while. The help centre is abit on the negative side because it can give vague explanations that more experienced users will comprehend but for the novice it can be challenging to understand.

TurboCAD offers multiple editions with versions tailored for beginners and more advanced professionals. Each edition provides different functionalities.

Pros

The feature I like is the 2D drawing functionality, which includes a variety of tools such as creating and modifying lines, arcs, circles, and 2D entities. It also supports dimensioning, constraints, and annotation tools.

Cons

What I like the least and have difficulty managing are the parametric and dimensional constraints, which I find somewhat difficult to master, despite the software being user-friendly.

Cons

Having started using the program while at school, i had thought it was just a part of my past, but I have recently used it once again and found enjoyment for the program once more during a recent project that needed much more detailed and accurate work than what my usual animation program offers.

Pros

The software is easy to use and with a bit of knowledge and is much more accessible than most other CAD programs. Accurate and precise measurements and plenty of tools to help you do exactly what you need to do.

Cons

Takes a little getting used to, shortcuts mostly need muscle memory to really keep pace on projects.

TurboCAD is broken

I bought the latest version of TurbCAD in 2012 as an alternative to the very pricey AutoCAD and Solid Works programs. It took me a few years to learn the program proficiently and I upgraded every year through 2015 until they began a subscription based program which turned me off upgrading until I bought a new work station and I found TC2015 wouldn't run correctly on it. Then after upgrading to the latest version in hopes of fixing the problem I find that the software no longer works. I am very pissed. I make my living designing tooling and I am in the middle of many projects now and it is taking me exponentially longer because the software is literally broken. No body has a solution and there is no support at IMSI.

Pros

Before I bought a specially design for CAD computer (MSI 32 gig ram SSD) I ran TurboCAD 2015 on a Toshiba Quad laptop and it ran fine other than being very slow. Once installed on a 2019 version MSI designed specifically for CAD I lost all the most important functions I relied upon like Conceptual Selector, editing nodes, fence mode plus it stopped rendering. I upgraded to TC2019 and I am still missing all those tools plus a lot more. They broke the software and they don't have a clue or the inclination to fix it.

Cons

Very, very, extremely slow especially to render. Earlier versions such as Pro 20 did not have these problems

TurboCAD: Powerful 3D manipulation tool.

Overall I would say that TurboCAD is a very powerful tool that will allow users to create and manipulate 3D objects. It has a pretty good Photorealistic render and a whole lot of features and tools. This is a software you will need to learn to use at first.

Pros

TurboCAD is a very powerful 3D tool. Its physics engine and the realistic ways materials and especially metals can be manipulated is rather impressive. I use TurboCAD for modelling more technical assets for 3D games as TurboCAD can register all the folds and twists in models. The software has photorealistic rendering which supports many materials. This isn't as realistic as some other software but it gives me a good understanding of how light will warp and react to my models.

Cons

TurboCAD is a very technical software and as such is can be overwhelming to first time users. But this can change as you learn. The UI isn't the most user-friendly. Renders can take a bit of time to render depending on how complex the geometry is.

I have used TurboCAD to design architectural plans and even design a custom electric guitar body, as well as a few graphic design elements I've used for decoration.

Pros

This software is relatively intuitive--even for someone who has never used any type of CAD software before. However, because of the many different features of this software, it can take quite a while to master all of the things you might want to do with this application. Also, this is a very powerful software application and the 3D tools available put it on near par with much more expensive professional-grade CAD systems.

Cons

There are several add-ins for this software (such as those that can create virtual walk-throughs of your designs), which I found a bit finicky. Also, some of the available help is not quite detailed enough to learn new features as easily as I would like. Also, some of the 3D tools don't quite work as I would want them to work, and sometimes saving a project prevents you from modifying some of the objects you've made. However, if you save copiese frequently, and get familiar with the order of events you need to use, you can master this software.
