Can't live without Klara

Pros

I started as a beta user when it first came out. I saw that within 6m, my medical life would be miserable without Klara. It makes it easy to be HIPAA-compliant, and patients love it. I manage complex patients around the world and I couldn't do it without Klara. They were ahead of the curve with Telemedicine integrated in the program when COVID hit, and I was able to maintain my patients while we were in lock-down. When I changed to a VOIP phone system, I was able to get numbers to which voice messages where transferred. These messages would then be transcribed and placed in the patients' box when they called with their cell. This is tremendously valuable feature. You will be happy with Klara and never look back.

Cons

I like everything about Klara and wouldn't give it up.

The staff are very responsive. They even anticipate our needs - like the need to sort messages and send them to the right person immediately, instead of forcing us to manually sort.

Pros

We have so many things that Klara does for us - answers calls, sends out reminders and automated forms, helps with patient registration, allows us to communicate effectively with our patients. We use the eforms to sign intake and registration forms, reminders for appointments, COVID/FLU screens through the eforms option, converse with patients easily about current issues.

Cons

I do wish it were better integrated into our EHR, but for the most part, it does what we need it to do. And, we're always getting new functionality so I'm always pleased to see where they go next.

The company was young, as were we. They seemed intent on growing together and continuing to grow together. That has proven true. It was also easy to adopt and to set up parameters for staff.

Pros

I love how Klara organizes the message exchange between patients and physicians. The secure messaging, appointment scheduling, and telemedicine are easy and convenient.

Cons

The platform is a little lacking customization and can be difficult to navigate for beginners.

Awful communications and not streamlined at all

Pros

Onboarding was unnecessarily slow. Took 1-2 weeks to get on a 15 minute call. They had (4) different 15 minute calls prior to "launch date" which was still not officially launched. Constantly had to message the people in charge of our account to get any correspondence from them. By the time we had access to login and try out the features, we realized we were not given completely transparent information and that all of our staff would have access to every single clients information.

From the beginning we told the sales guy we were in-home healthcare that we have one entry staff with one client (which he was familiar with because his child also had the therapy we provide from another agency). I understand why doctors can have access to any clients info, but an entry level staff right out of high school should not have this information.

Overall, between the training/onboarding, awful communication (still waiting on a response to be removed from their contract 3 weeks ago - followed up 3 times and no response!), and it not actually being confidential I felt compelled to write a review. I dont usually write reviews, I've used bad software before. This one is by far the worse experience I have ever experienced which is sad because I am from the city/town that they are based in so I thought it was a sign that it would be a good fit. Guess not!

We ended up finding a HIPAA compliant chat online that we could practice on before making a committment. I will only do that moving forward with any software we try.

We could not keep up with pt. communications without Klara. It is an invaluable tool. Support has been great, and usually if we have a problem it's worked out fairly quickly.

Pros

Allowed us to streamline and optimize our patient engagement. We're able to text securely, send files back and forth to patients securely, send and receive intake forms, and to track our communications for quality assurance. We were pleased to find out that 95% of the time our staff was doing a great job. For the 5% of times we found that something could have been done better, Klara made it easy to use the record created to turn it into a teachable moment.

Cons

There can be some issues when initially integrating with your EMR. I suspect that many of these issues have gotten better as they have done more installs and worked out some of the bugs.

What I like most about Klara is how I am able to send out appointment reminders to the patients in a timely manner and they are able to tell me what their needs are.

Cons

The cons of using Klara are when entering the patients in cobilty they dont transfer over all of the correct information sometimes.

It was so much easier to use 15 months ago

Cons

Unfortunately the programming has made it much more difficult to use. The program has been down so much more then before. The difficulty created by the programs between myself and my team members and my patients have affected our timely communications and productivity quite a bit causing more resources to be allocated. The responses from the Klara team are timely but the results are pretty poor. Asking for some kind of credit for the inconvenience fell on a NO! I will give them a bit more time to figure their stuff out if it continues to get worse then I will have to go elsewhere.

My experience has been strictly functional. I rarely use the product myself but from an optimization resource perspective it falls well short of what I need for my organization.

Pros

Honestly there's not much I like about the Software. I do appreciate that messaging back and forth with the patient can seamlessly involve other parties as needed.

Cons

The product is expensive for what you get and doesn't integrate well with an external EHR. A more comprehensive and easily integrated option would work better for our practice.

I was invited to begin using Klara when they were just a little baby startup and I was a beta user. I've stayed with them over the last 10+ years and they keep getting better.

Pros

Cool design, reliable technology, mobile app for iPhone, integrates with DESKTOP (browser) version. Desktop usability is VERY IMPORTANT!

Cons

The video conferencing doesn't support multiple service recipients (clients) at the same, such as for group sessions. I am a psychologist who works with groups and would use this feature a great deal. Also, it would be preferred if we had the option to replace the term "Patient" with "Client" or "Customer." It's restrictive only having the term "Patient." Many practices do not use this word any longer. It's not always standard anymore.

Pros

It's easy to add patients to the system, easy to use. We love that there is no login for our patients.

Cons

We haven't had quick responses from costumer service. There have been a few glitches as well that weren't followed up on thoroughly. When we uploaded our patient list to Klara, it uploaded everything backwards (first names were entered in as last names). This has made it so we have to switch them all manually.

Love Klara !!

Pros

Great app to text back and forth to doctors that otherwise have no idea how to answer a phone or get back to you promptly. This app goes straight to the admin assistant that gets back with an answer very quickly. Usually within a couple minutes. That's the staff at the center for Advanced Orthopedics in Catonsville Maryland. I'm sure they aren't that quick everywhere. But the app works awesome

Cons

pp has the option to keep you signed in for 30 days, but I have to enter codes every single time. It's extremely annoying. The upload picture feature is also horrible because it doesn't work! Links don't work either. This is a horribly developed app.

Pros

I really appreciate the accessibility this allows our office and patients to communicate.

Cons

The way the messages are labeled or assigned needs to improve. My suggestion is to bump up the screening of the type of msgs. Improvement is needed in picking up certain filtered words to help categorize the msgs.

Klara is easy to use, mostly easy for patients to use, and fairly accessible across platforms

Cons

Although I appreciate how easy it is for my patients to use it, the fact that parents of patients can create their own profiles and there is *no way* to delete duplicate profiles sometimes means a major headache in making sure people log-in to the appropriate profile for messages and telepsych visits

Our patients and their family members / guardians appreciated having Klara available, we were able to provide 24/7 communication that was accessible to most of our patients, even those who have disabilities or limitations. The review service helped us showcase the quality of care and service we provide.

Pros

Klara keeps our patients and staff connected and helps our organization operate at its best.
Patients can schedule or check appointments and complete intake forms from their mobile devices. Messaging and telehealth are simple enough that almost any patient can use them. A link is sent through text message and no login or extra steps are required. All messages are HIPAA compliant and private.
Klara sends appointment and follow up reminders, instructions or directions can be added to the reminders. If a patient misses an appiontment Klara sends a text message that helps them reschedule.

Cons

More flexibility would make Klara better. Home Health Care Organizations operate differently than a typical medical practice and some services that we need aren't provided by Klara. I received a lot of complaints about not having a messaging service for the staff, It's only for patient to staff communication.
The value for money is not good.

What I like most about the Klara app is the simplicity of getting around the app. It’s very easy to use and you can speak with your provider with ease, as well as send and receive documents/forms. Very convenient app.
