Great Service and Support

PrimePay is managing our semi-monthly payroll processing needs and tax remittance requirements. The staff are responsive, knowledgeable, and do a great job!

Pros

Pros

Easy to use, and great report structures. Love that HR3 has carrier feeds. The new timeclock is great!

Cons

My biggest frustration is that there are too many links and no integration between software. You have to get a link to all different services (HR3, PayStubs, FSA, Timeclock) all have different links which frustrate users. Also, as the administrator, you are stuck with having to reach to so many departments because you no longer have a dedicated service manager.

Useless to the end user.

One word. Shit. I have not been able to access anything I require through your software.

Pros

There is nothing I like about this software and unfortunately the company I work for uses this software. Maybe it works well for them, but from an employee perspective, stone and chisel would be more effective. We I called your helpdesk I was told "we know it's an issue". The is useless. When I asked about accessing MY financial statements the PrimePay help desk tole me they could not help. I have worked for a number of companies that use a verity HR software. Even if other product's UI/UX was terrible, I could still eventually get what I needed. PrimePay's UI/UX is terrible and I CANNOT get the information I need. So for me there are NO pros to the software.

Cons

The frustration and complete lack of support the help desk provided. Their answer was "We know there's an issue. We cannot help but your employer should have the information." I then asked about my 401K and the desk was even more useless saying "I think you need to contact your employer". This is unacceptable and, I, the person requesting their own information, should have access to MY personal salary benefits. Is it even legal for your company to withhold them from me?

Still Has The Small Businessman In Sight

You can reread my pros for the full monte, but my overall experience in a few words would be "awed by the friendly accessibility."

Pros

That I have found with PrimePay is not limited to the success of their software. While the software is great, it is the people element that I find so refreshing. I used two other well known payroll companies before discovering these guys. The biggest difference I have found is that unlike other payroll companies, they do not vanish once the sale is made. Today was a great example of their friendly demeanor. Even though I knew it was my own fault for not getting payroll in on time, Grace, an account specialist but not mine, cheerfully took my payroll via phone. Happily going the extra step she also took the information for my two new employees who will have their first checks delivered on time tomorrow morning.

Cons

What I like least about this software is my inability to find time to use it.

Decent payroll software, but you're completely on your own. No support, so if you need any kind of help or have a question, prepare to be on hold for literally hours at a time. Try calling, emailing, submitting a ticket, chat -- doesn't matter -- no one answers or responds. Will be changing payroll companies due to this.

Great For Small Business

I’ve been a proud customer for over 3 years. Really enjoy the customer service and support. I sleep better at night knowing they take care of everything.

Pros

I love the customer service and hands on approach to providing payroll services. Having access to reports and documents is a plus.

Cons

The online portal could use a make over. It should be more user friendly and easier to use.

I love PrimePay! It is an easy to use system that makes running payroll easy and fast.

It is really easy to use, and it doesn't take a lot of time to run payroll. Previously, we used ADP and it would sometimes take hours to run payroll. With PrimePay, sometimes it takes as little as 10 minutes!

Pros

I like that it is really easy to navigate, and running payroll can take very little time. It makes it easy to input lots of hours all at once.

Cons

It isn't very easy to verify all of an employee's data at once, since it is on multiple pages. There are reports that can be run, but so far I haven't found a way to get all of an employee's information in 1 place.

Pros

It's reliable, support is decent, friendly

Cons

Some desirable functions are not there. (Ex. can't print an old pay stub) Others are not obvious or easy to use. Reporting is just OK

Worst experience EVER

Then after a month of working with them, they did not have direct deposit set up for the second payroll; Friday morning our employees were not paid. I spent the morning at the bank setting up a wire transfer and notifying all of our employees of the situation.
Needless to say, I should have just went with ADP when they initially bought out Wells Fargo. I just completed all documentation to make the switch and I 100% regret ever looking Prime Pays way.
Oh, and when I discussed the endless list of issues with Vice President Of Sales, his conclusion was Murphy's Law. So that gives you an idea of how they'll get to the bottom of your issues over at prime pay.

Pros

there were zero pros with your company.

Cons

I switched to primepay after wells fargo was bought out. I worked with primepay for two payroll runs and I truly don't believe I could have possibly received a more unprofessional experience. Rather than receiving all documents required, they trickled in over the course of two weeks. If they call and you don't answer, expect 4 more calls, voicemails, emails, and texts because they have zero sense of respect for anyone else's time.
I requested a manager in hopes of receiving a more professional experience.. I don't believe there is a single professional in their sales department all the way up to their VP of sales. what . a. joke.
THEN the day I sent over my company's voided check, was the same day my business checking account was compromised (VIA ACH meaning my account number and routing number was used which has never happened before. Thousands of dollars.) I do not believe this to be a coincidence, and I don't believe their emails are secured.
Moving on, I was promised that all of our employees would receive direct deposit beginning on first payroll as all of our employees are scattered across the country on various projects. I started this transition two weeks before payroll was due for this reason. They did not meet this agreement.

Change and the Character to Adapt

We worked with Prime Pay under the umbrella of a larger organization - however we ran payroll as a separate entity with a separate employer ID # and paid them separately. The organization decided to change, so our last payroll was Friday - March 4. Our logins were cutoff apparently last week and we no longer have access to our reports - It is Monday March 7. I am a CPA in public accounting and I have NEVER seen a payroll company cutoff a customer from obtaining reports even in some of the most unusual circumstances after a final payroll. This tells me about the integrity and character at the top of this company. As a CPA I have a 3 year record retention requirement. I would never refer this company based on this experience. Shame on them.

If you plan to transition to another payroll company - One can always tell the integrity and character of an organization when you leave a company, what the response to the change is. We have choices - we can retain our integrity, character and professionalism with the many companies that were part of the payroll process or we can spite them and cutoff access to reporting.

the fact that it is develope with the user in mind as to navigating and the layout of functions. Everything to do with payroll and ACA reporting is made for those that work with it daily.

Cons

There is probably only one thing I would change and that is employer section that allows you to change or update bulk information for employees.

Links don't work, can't even reset password. Tech support was no help.

Well it was a good way to get my blood pressure up. Other than that the website is a total fail. I wouldn't have a job if my product sucked this bad.

Pros

Not one thing, the links they e-mailed don't work, can't even reset password. Tech support was no help they told me I needed to talk to my company administrator didn't even ask if I had an account set up already.

Cons

You could make it so people could reset there passwords, your links work that get e-mailed they take you back to the login page. Which is no help the if you don't recall your password. Tech support tells you have to get with your employer. He told me before I logged in that it probably wouldn't work... Shouldn't have wasted my time.

Love Prime Pay

Overall experience is cool. The best payroll company I have personally worked with thus far.

Pros

The software is easy to maneuver around in and super easy and quick inputting the information in the system. I also love the fact that I do not have to input any information if I do not want to. They have a representative call me weekly and I give her the payroll totals and she inputs the information for me. I then can go in ant any time to review information when needed. They also give out time clocks and can generate the totals from the machine. We will be getting them soon and I cannot wait to try it.

Cons

There is nothing that I do not like about this software.

Easy Life

Ive been with Primepay for years now. The company and my "smart representatives" makes my Payroll, Taxes easy. I could have some peace of mind at the end of every pay period and tax year that I am compliant the the IRS and labor law.

Pros

All it takes is a brief phone call, I give the hours and in less than a minute i can download and print out my reports

Cons

Some minor glitches, all is well and well taken cared of.

User Friendly Payroll Company

Customer service is exceptional for any problems that may arise.

Pros

The software is very easy to use, very easy to navigate through for information and super easy to input payroll. The checks come into my office the very next day and all the direct deposits transfer perfectly.

Cons

The only thing I can say negatively is the reporting. I wish there was an instant work comp payroll report that is more friendly for date ranges for my audits.

Most frusterating experience ever

I do not have anything good to say about this software.

Cons

1-833-YOU-MATTER This customer service number does not even dial out. Obviously you as a customer do not matter enough to provide you with a working customer service phone number. I do not and have not ever had access to my pay stub thru Prime Pay. I received emails but was never able to log in and view my own pay check. Do not use this sight if you have a problem no one will help you.

password reset DOES NOT Work

Was great until the fall of 2021. Has been terrible since.

Pretty good WHEN I can access the my pay statements.

Cons

I have been trying to access my account for over 3 months and quit trying.
Password reset is a JOKE.

The link I received to reset my password defaults to the login screen with no way to set up a new password.

My account as a result locks up.

SUPERB PAYROLL SERVICE!

Prime Pay has been exceptional in meeting our payroll needs. We have two businesses and both businesses require extra attention each week (on some level). Our payroll representative is superb. 100% of the reason we are still with Prime Pay is a direct result of the customer service we receive.

This is my first experience with payroll software, it is so user friendly it makes the payroll process extremely easy to learn and use.

Pros

The program is very self explanatory, and the ease of changing or looking up employees information makes it a pleasure to use.

Cons

Although you can always reach customer service when needed, I find it is hard to contact our representative by phone promptly.

I use the PrimePay Portal to retrieve Payroll Reports, Tax Reports, W-2 Forms, etc.

The most important benefit is the safety and security of all information for our employees. With the PrimePay Portal, I have been extremely satisfied with the security. Secondly, it is very easy to use as I am able to print and/or save the reports/documents as necessary.

Pros

I log in to the PrimePay Portal weekly or at least bi-weekly. I can save or print the reports I need and I believe it is very secure. It is very easy to use. If I need help, which only happened once, the representatives at PrimePay guided me through very easily.
