PrimePay in general has been very responsive to our needs and requests. Having worked with multiple payroll companies in the past, I appreciate the large array of features combined with high touch customer service. I definitely recommend them.

Pros

The software is more customizable than most. The customer service and responsiveness is quite good for a payroll company. PrimePay manages to deliver high quality features like a large company, but more high touch service like a smaller company.

Cons

There is a limit to customization. The software cannot show a running tally of a person's hours worked per workweek on their time card in the mobile version. This has caused our mobile employees some issues in the field because they must manually add their timecards to stay on track for weekly hours and avoid unauthorized overtime.

Pros

I loved that the implementation team was very knowledgable and responsive. I learned a lot from [sensitive content hidden] about how their system worked.

System limitations. The system is unable to handle our intricut payrolls and could not give basic reports that were needed. The discovery documents was very detailed on what is needed for data migration. It made the import of information and data verification easier.

PrimePay has been very helpful with implementing the software throughout our company and has been willing to meet through calls for training and understanding. The support team has been great through the transition of leaving implementation.

Pros

PrimePay has a great grasp on important payroll functions like taxes and seamless processing of direct deposits and third party payments. There is an opportunity to create an integration to NetSuite which appealed to us.

Cons

There are slow loading times for reporting and payroll calculation, the help articles seem a little outdated. I think some of the implementation objects might have been done out of order leading us to reorganize a few things.

found out that the company is actually still private. i like that about primepay. i don't really like doing business with public companies because they tend to only care about the shareholders.

Cons

sometimes they don't get back to you.... give you incorrect information.... tell you that you need to do something that you ended up not needing to do and time ended up being wasted.... all areas for improvement as we all have those....

Overall it's been good, but there have been issues as is expected when learning a new program and everything but I have had a good team from PrimePay helping me along the way.

Pros

I like that the money is impounded with each payroll run and that the quarterly reports are done within the organization.

Cons

I don't like that I don't have as much control as I used to with my previous payroll provider.

We have been clients of Prime Pay for the last 25 years. I like that my payroll taxes are completely taken care of, and payroll runs pretty smoothly. And it was wonderful meeting [sensitive content hidden] today.

Pros

FINALLY!! I was helped by the best person today! [sensitive content hidden] was great! I was not able to log on on PrimePay LLC to get help with a last day check. We are a small company and our employees are great. Not a lot of turnover. So I have not done a "termination" in a very long time. [sensitive content hidden] walked me through the procedure and I was very pleased that it has been streamlined and made into an interim payroll. I really learned a lot from him today plus he had a wonderful demeanor.

Cons

Sometimes it is hard to reach someone who can explain and resolve questions. And one of our payrolls was not delivered by FedEx. It actually was mailed through USPS! Did not receive until the following week. Fortunately, delivery was made on the following Monday. But that situation caused a lot of anxiety.

Pros

Integration with our financial software. Configurable reports. Ease of use in payroll management and processing. Ease of use in time off requesting, life events, and benefit management. I9 management and verification. The implementation and customer support teams have been great to work with.

Cons

No 360 EDI feed for our benefits. Tax allocation issues with crews working in multiple states. No option to upload person documents per employees, just has company upload. Can't customize access/permission per managers and administrators, strictly role based. We have a parent company with multiple subsidiaries, there is no way to transfer between without termination and rehire, which makes a mess with benefits and tenure. :(

I can do my payroll myself electronically and know it is complete.

Cons

When Customer Success Managers change for our location, it takes a while for us to be notified. Therefore, we do not have a point of contact for issues or contacts and are left to drift. Also, questions are not answered in a timely fashion. If I have a question on payroll, and in the process of entering payroll, no one calls you back for hours. Payroll is already done, and done incorrectly.

Pros

Our customer service rep, [sensitive content hidden], is the main reason that we have continued with PrimePay over the many years we have been with them. She is professional, accurate, a great resource for answering questions or solving problems, and always goes the extra mile for her customers. As PrimePay has grown, there have been many changes, and unfortunately, some major bumps in the road, but having [sensitive content hidden] as our rep has helped keep these challenges manageable.

Cons

As PrimePay has grown, it has lost some of their flexibility, and that personal touch that smaller and medium-sized companies value. We have started to feel more like a number and less important because we are a smaller customer. There seems to be a push towards self-service, which does have some benefits, but in my opinion, also comes with more negatives. We originally chose PrimePay because of the more personalized, one-on-one service that we received from our our sales rep, [sensitive content hidden], and our CSR, [sensitive content hidden], and others in the company, but that seems to be changing.

Their customer support via phone call is always so helpful and some of the nicest people!

Cons

Invoice billing can sometimes get mixed up, but customer support is able to fix any issues within a few days.
