I love Goosechase and know that my staff loves it so much, they asked that I do another one for our opening inservice this fall. It is engaging and team focused and all members of your group is engaged instead of just one or two doing all the work for everyone. I highly recommend Goosechase and am thankful I learned about it at our Physical Education Conference in Wisconsin last fall. It's always great to bring something new and exciting back to the district.
Pros
Goose Chase is super easy to navigate through the app to set up. I viewed a couple tutorials but overall I was able to figure it out easily without any problems. It is also easy from the participant side to download the app, get signed in with the access code and begin the missions. I like have they have premade missions to get your ideas flowing but also the ease to make your own or tweek the ones they have premade.
Cons
I haven't had issues with the Goose chase app. The only thing I would say as I have used it with staff only would be to have a place to see what missions the participants completed/submitted and which they haven't in real time. The latest challenge I have 60 missions and they had 60 minutes to complete as many as they could so it would be nice from my end as an administrator to see which ones they were hitting and which ones they had yet to complete in real time.

Great for Gamifying the classroom
Reviewed on 2023/08/17
Pros
Love the fact I can set up missions and the STUDENTS are doing the work but having a blast trying to "beat" each other. I use it for media center orientation and it has taken a required lesson from being soooo boring that even I the librarian finds it a snooze fest, and really made it fun, and interactive. It allows me to set my first experience with my students as a wonderful and engaging experience.
Cons
I don't really have any negative things to say. I have used Goosechase for well over 4 years and its been a hit every time with the students.

Pros
Goosechase is easy to use, both as as admin and an end user. It has been a great way for us to get people out in the preserves and see what they are seeing. The dashboard is an easy way to track participation and engagement, and the process for adding missions is fairly easy. As a participant, it's easy to use and monitor your progress.
Cons
A Zoom option on the camera function would be particularly useful, and it would be nice to be able to easily schedule missions to be released. It would also be ideal to have more ways to sort submissions for download, such as by mission or by user. With tens of thousands of submissions, the download process is time consuming. Finally, the mission search function is very helpful, but it is glitchy and sometimes takes awhile to work.

I love this tool. I first used it as a participant doing a city-wide scavenger hunt with my family. I then created a challenge for a church family weekend. During covid, I found ways to use it in my classroom at Miami University with great success. I keep finding more ways to use it!
Pros
I love how I can quickly create challenges that line up directly with my classroom topics. From semester to semester, I can easily duplicate a previous challenge and make small changes. It really encourages me to think about my students' learning process and how to make it tangible. It also makes it fun!
Cons
I wish I could allow feedback/ comments on the leaderboard. Right now I have to add bonus points to be able to make any comments about it. I wish there was an way to quicly export a simple video summary (choose which challenge videos/ pictures, choose speed, choose music). Right now I export and make my own videos using tools like Animoto.

Goosechase is seriously one of my favorite games to play EVER! It started out as a way to gamify my classroom- I've used it to practice vocabulary, skip counting, Earth Day, etc... but then I tried it outside of the classroom with family and friends and it was a HIT! I made a Christmas Lights Goosechase for my church where teams could drive around looking for lights around the holidays (which lots of people do) but making it a scavenger hunt looking for specific lights made it so much more fun. This year with be year three for that. I've also made them for my kids youth group on the boardwalk (a great place for a scavenger hunt!), girls weekend trips, and am now creating one for my son's upcoming wedding reception. I've used so many programs before but never for as long as Goosechase. I even pay for the subscription myself now, as my school stopped offering the paid version. Thank you for creating something that makes anything better!
Pros
Goosechase can make anything better! I've used it in school, at my church, and with family and friends. It is so user-friendly that everyone can use it - young, old, and anyone in between. The app is easy to download and use and I just love the team aspect. Creating missions is a snap and I love that I can save games in my 'library' to use again.
Cons
I wish you could zoom in when taking photos/videos. Often the missions involve finding things that may be a bit far away and then it's hard as the 'judge' to see what the picture is. I also don't like that if you don't hold the camera/iPad up and down the photos/videos are submitted sideways.

We have been using Goosechase since 2018 with youth, families, volunteers, and colleagues with an educational focus. It provides a chance for use with the public at fairs, with virtual programs to allow team-building or extended content experience, with parents/families as a part of early childhood engagement focuses, and at in-person events for more connection to the location and with others (and with education in there too!). I think there are a lot of ways to use the platform and have been impressed with staff creativity though I don’t even know all the stories. We often use for informal evaluation purposes and to get qualitative data points on what went well, what could be improved and what youth have learned.
Pros
The ability to have private missions so sensitive or private youth content is not seen by other participants if needed; the ability to have other colleagues as team builders and reviewers within one game; the license that is unlimited for our whole organizational team to use in programming with youth, volunteers, and the community
Cons
Integration is a slight challenge when we have to get approval from our broader university but has not been an issue. All of the specific needs we have had had been addressed by the team so no issues there! Pricing has changed a bit over the years and we have had to figure out creative ways to cover. However, I still view as a platform that has good value for our program.

We use Goosechase for onboarding and training, as well as for event user engagement. It has been an absolutely wonderful tool service to have in our toolbox! Attendees and staff love it and it's always fun to see the question results!
Pros
We love how easy Goosechase is to learn and use! Our main staff team that sets up the Goosechase experiences picked up the software quickly and love how versatile the question formats are. And when we had any trouble, customer support was absolutely phenomenal with helping and even scheduling a private training for the team!
Cons
We wished there were a couple other questioning formats available, and the ability to make formats conditional (show/hide based on other questions answers).

I love it - the fun, the gamification, the challenge, and the collection of photos and videos make it such an #eduwin.
Pros
As a middle school teacher, I have used GooseChase for five years on our annual Washington DC. Trip. The game not only keeps kids engaged, but it also provides me with a great collection of crowdsourced phots and videos! I also use it during the school year by offering various challenges to students based on our topics of study. Some challenges can be done at school or home, while others require some local travel to historic sites. In addition, I have used GooseChase for engagement at multiple professional conferences that I help organize and run. The conference challenges bring attendees together, offer ways to promote featured sessions, and provide some fun as well!I've alos used it for my extended family. It's an. amazing platform to guide people around our city, showing off historic sites, cool cultural attractions, and fun locations.GooseChase is easy to design, simple to implement, and a snap to monitor.
Cons
I would love some new functions - possibly some hidden bonuses when teams complete a series of missions, or some if/then functions at certain locations. A built in QR code reader would be cool as well.

Pros
GooseChase is an easy to download app that each team could use to answer custom questions related to the history of an area. This was used for 3 hours during the competition.
Cons
As admins we had certain questions that we scheduled at certain times through out the day. This feature did not work as easily as we expected. GooseChase Admin listened to our concerns.

The benefits of Goosechase allow me to connect with potential applicants, get to know students, aid in student sense of belonging, and support faculty members with fun, interactive experiences.
Pros
Opportunities abound to utilize Goosechase for colleges. Creating a sense of belonging through orientation, aiding in connection with student tours (middle school through adults), supporting faculty with robust projects, and collecting data for accreditation are all dymanic means of applicability.
Cons

I've used GooseChase for several virtual programs since 2020. It has been a great resource for me as a 4-H coordinator and they youth have tons of fun with it. Our GooseChases are not your traditional scavenger hunt, but give youth various tasks to complete. The video submissions are always the best, but require a length limit warning.
Pros
The app is very easy to use and has a wide range of applications.
Cons
There are a few features that are hard to find, like sending a message to participants. We also do a lot of random prize drawings from teams that have actually participated, so a random drawing feature would be cool.

Pros
Goosechase is an interactive and innovative way to host trainings, games, and other engaging programming to student development, staff trainings, team buildings, etc. It is very simple to use and intuitive to the overall user. We love the system at our university!
Cons

Our school loves using Goosechase with our students and staff. We do teambuilding, content reinforcement, and improve overall engagement.
Pros
Goosechase provides a platform to engage students and teachers in their learning. The features that are most impressive include the availability of some pre-made missions and scavenger hunts for education. The fact that we can edit and personalize each hunt is perfect for the school setting. We also appreciate the share ability so teaching partners can collaborate.
Cons

Cons

I've loved it! I've participated in and created/ran several games over the year and really love the platform!
Pros
I do love Goosechase! I've used it for team challenges and field trips for years. Field trips are some of my favorites to use it for. It creates so much engagement and I do love the ease of creating and saving games.
Cons
I think some of the setup features could be a bit more updated. My main critique as an educator is it being only app based. I teach 4th grade and we're in that inbetween. They're old enough where they use laptops, not ipads, but not old enough to have phones. So without an option to play the game online, I can't have students use it in class and I have to save it for things when I have adults.
