Lots of file management in a Windows environment: from server to server for migrations or general sync, from desktop to USB drive, etc.
Pros
It's so flexible. We've used it for migrating very large file servers where we've been able to stage our initial migration then do small incrementals to get the latest versions of some files. It copies permissions which not all tools do. You can use XCOPY and a ton of other tools but this is nice because there's good integrated logging.
We've used it for keeping two folders in sync, for backups, and many other file server-related activities. That it's a GUI also means we can place this in an end-user's hands and with little training they can monitor it. We can set schedules as frequent as needed.
We've lately been able to use it to move from using a Windows file server as target to using SharePoint. (I see that we can use so many other cloud targets as well.) I really was surprised at how maturely it's integrated. We can connect through the Microsoft API and SyncBack handles the throttling very well. Recently someone changed the admin password for the account we were using to keep everything in sync. This broke the sync. It was a pain to modify all the 20 profiles using this cloud account but then I found from support that an updated to the profile simplified this. I'm glad we had support!
Cons
I'm nit-picking but a challenge has been that it uses a UI language that isn't quite Windows-native. If you double-click on a job, for example, it doesn't open up for you to modify it. Right-clicking and choosing from a large context-sensitive menu is the preferred way to interact with many elements. SyncBack has made this configurable though, so you can choose what a double-click will do.

Overall is a good choice for what I need to do to the point I've decided to buy for our company. I tested the various things I needed to do with the trial version and when got stuck the SyncBack tech support emailed me (pretty quick) a suggestion/solution. Impressive.
Pros
The unattended synchronisation, 'versioning' and ability to backup SQL dbs are the biggest benefits. Once get used to the interface and its way of doing things is pretty straight forward.
Does what it adverstises. Can be pretty simple profile to backup/sync or get deeper in with a LOT of options...
Cons
The scheduling is a bit tricky to setup but the online Help (step by step, pretty good) and tech support sorted me out. This does rely heavily on and leverages with MS Scheduling so not all SyncBack issues and quirks. It did help to go direct to MSScheduling and see what the issues where when things 'appeared' not to be working.
A few of of the options, such are filtering files to include or excluded, although works and straightforward, have a fair number of pop up dialogs. A cleaner system, like treeview or tabbed system, would be preferable.

It is terrible! Customer service is abysmal. I do not have time to mess around with setting the program's sync profile. It will not recognize the code sent by Microsoft to verify the setup for OneDrive. Consequently, I cannot fully evaluate the program. You must submit requests through email rather than chat or speak with a real person for assistance. Being a solo businessness owner, I do not have the office time to be administrator of a computer and run my business.
Pros
Because of their horrible customer service, I cannot comment. I sincerely wish I could because what I have read and see, it appears to be very user friendly.
Cons

Hi, I'm sorry you had a bad experience but I'm confused as your last response to us was:
"Thank you for your help. The program appears to be working fine now. I will have to run the full profile once to back everything up to be certain."
That was on 11th January. If you are still having problems you can reply to the ticket or email us again and we'd be happy to help. Thanks

Cons
It has a bit of a learning curve but once you are past that it is worth the investment of learning how to use it.

I do daily backups to another drive and weekly backups to Google Drive, as well as daily backup of Android SD card and internal memory (like Camera pictures sometimes get saved internally by accident). Works great!
Pros
Ease of use, easy to also set-up versionning, preview the results and schedule. Syncing to Google Drive was easy. Also great that it can backup MTP devices too like Android! (and toss a warning if the phone isn't plugged in)
Cons
Only thing I can think of, can't figure out how to send desktop notifications if "profile hasn't been ran since x days" (also, should allow exceptions per profile. My Android SD card isn't as critical, just Music). Should be present somewhere, I missed it ?

I use SyncBackPro on a daily basis to backup network drives and folders and I haven't had any issues with the software. Once I have setup a backup profile I can pretty much forget about it and feel confident that all of my data is being backed up, and if I ever need to make a change to a profile it's really easy to modify the profile with the changes I need.
Pros
The thing I like most about SyncBackPro is that it is easy to use and it provides a variety of features that can be utilized by any user.
Cons
There's not really anything I dislike about SyncBackPro, it offers all of the features I need and it has a simple user interface that is easy to use.

I have been using Syncback for over 10 years. First in a large university setting in which I was responsibility for securing data for over 50 research bases computers used in multimillion dollar research projects.
In the 10 years plus I have been using the software I have not had any trouble with the software.
On multiple occasion there were hard drive failures and I was able to get a new hard drive up and running and restore all data in a short amount of time. I also use Syncback on my personal video production systems I use while producing music videos.
Pros
Syncback Pro is a very cost effective program with all the features you will need to safely secure you data.
Saving your information in the cloud or to a second hard drive on you local machine is very easy to set up.
Cons
I have not found any features of Syncback that I found lacking.

Independant Photographer where Safe Backup is imperative
Reviewed on 2020/10/08
Pros
It took a few minutes to see how the program held together and what was needed for a good setup. I'm a geek as well, but I didn't need to use the manual once to see how this all worked. I really like the way that you can group together backup profiles, and by doing that you can set the "backup time" individually / group. The other well thought out feature is the ability to backup files from one (or more) remote machine(s) to the NAS device. (I'm using a WD EXT ultra drive). So I'm able to backup my web sites from a Ubuntu server using SAMBA, nice and easily.
So my setup is: Group 1 - linux backup every 15 days (that's how often I backup my websites using VirtualMin), Group2 - normal PC backup every 2 days, Single Profile using Sync and backup continuous, for the disk I have my local storage for photographs .
Cons
Strangely the only thing I don't like is you accidentally close the program by using the top bar "X". This could be a good place to go back in time and have a "Are You Sure" check box! :)
Response from 2BrightSparks

Pros
The sync features are essential for my workflow and lifestyle. I use SyncBack to sync computers at work and at home. SyncBack keeps the computers effectively identical in terms of usefulness, with years of files and emails readily available wherever I am. This is especially important because I use a local email client (Thunderbird) and have many GB of email stored locally. SyncBack keeps it all sync’d. As a result I can run and bike to work without lugging a device!

An efficient easy to use sync program
Reviewed on 2020/08/12
Pros
I have used SyncBackPro since version 5 and I have always been happy with it. It efficiently keeps four different computers synced and it is flexible enough that it is easy to sync just what I need with each computer. It has automatic backup settings so my files are backed up to Dropbox and a local disk every night. It works well with Box, too. Version 9 has easy to interpret graphics and works well.
Cons
Every so often, I need to delete the file database in SyncBackPro when it takes a long time to identify changed files when I sync with Dropbox, but once I do it is fine.

Pros
Relatively easy to use. Seamless. I sync every thirty minutes. Although I still use a cloud backup nightly, I sync my server to an external drive for peace of mind and easy of use if I accidentally delete, don't save, or need the extra copy. It doesn't seem to affect performance at all.
Cons
I takes a little while to understand server settings. It doesn't confirm a sync so I check every once-in-a-while.

A solid backup solution

Pros
Syncback Pro is a solid backup solution that does not require a lot of experience to configure. You can get started fairly easily and it has built in "simulation" runs of backups so you know if you need to adjust the configuration.
Cons
The GUI is very late 1990s and needs to be modernized. It also has random errors to can cause the backup jobs to not run.
