Radar Healthcare has transformed the way we manage systems within our organisation. As a complex NHS Trust, it has streamlined our processes and enhanced communication across all services. One of its greatest strengths is its commitment to customers - Radar Healthcare truly prioritises a partnership approach, making us feel like valued collaborators rather than just another client, which sets them apart from other suppliers
Pros
The flexibility of Radar allows us to change the software to meet our strategic aims, rather than having to change our aims to meet the requirements of the software.
Cons
Some of the elements, particularly the risk register, have required some workarounds to meet NHS reporting requirements (but even then, it has felt like a partnership trying to resolve the issues).
Response from Radar Healthcare

Incident management and complaint management are much more visible and it is easier to spot themes and make improvements. It is also easier to share lessons learned to a wider group.
Pros
From an administrative perspective, I like that we can customise the data captured to ensure that it reflects our needs, whilst still remaining easy to use for all users.
Cons
Some of the workflow and certain form changes, including notifications cannot be done by ourselves. We would also like the ability to have different risk matrices and/or the ability to manage site level risk registers as well as corporate ones.
Response from Radar Healthcare
Hi Bini,
Thanks so much for taking the time to review Radar Healthcare.
It's great to hear that the system is easy to use and is already helping you to spot themes and importantly share the lessons learned and make improvements.
In terms of risk management, ill ask your CSM to reach out to you as we can manage risk registers across different scopes within the product including location and corporate risk, this also flows through into the analytics.
We look forward to continuing to help you deliver the best possible outcomes for your organisation.

Being able to move away from Spreadsheets and the opportunity to run analytics on the data we have , this provides so much more ability to learn from incidences and improve
Pros
User friendly , creating and tracking action plans
Cons
Reviewing risks can be a bit cumbersome. In addition it doesnt seem possible to set out over what time period target score can be achievedWhere internal parties are involved in an incident they can not easily view date that involves them
Response from Radar Healthcare
Hi Andrew,
Thanks so much for the review! We are glad that you're finding the system user friendly! And really pleased that the system is providing you with ability the to learn from incidents and drive improvements in patient safety.
In terms of your cons we already have plans to add in a target score date for risk (coming soon) and I'll ask your CSM to contact you around users (internal parties) accessing incidents that involve them as this is currently possible in Radar Healthcare and can be achieved in a number of ways.
Thanks again for the review.

Radar has helped us to be complaint with regulatory requirements. Radar gives us assurance that staff receive and read notices. Radar helps us keep in touch with our staff. Radar has pretty much been a life saver during the Pandemic - its portability has meant that when staff have had to work from home or different locations they can access it easily on any device.
Pros
Its ease of use. It is clear and easy to read items. Document management means that end users know exactly which version to use and can see when and why a document of updated. Notices - these have really helped us manage the COVID updates and ensured that all staff have received the information they need to do their job safely. Event reporting - this has enabled us to make real quality improvements. the use of sub-categories helped us identify in depth issues and put in place workable solutions.
Cons
Compliments - I would like compliments made about individuals to be sent to them so that they get that feedback. Events - I would like the reporter to receive a copy of the completed event so that they get the feedback and know action has been taken.
Response from Radar Healthcare
Great review Joanne, thank you.

This is such a comprehensive system that it will likely take us a few more months to be fully utilizing it, but we are really looking forward to exploring all that is can do to support our organization. Radar Healthcare has great employees from sales to support to developers, and we are proud to be there number one US customer.
Pros
Everything! The delivered on every promise, the platform itself is completely customizable - and I mean they really can do anything. The support is fast and reliable, updates are consistent, and the implementation team stays with us for a long time. We have only been on the system for 4 months, but field staff love it and administrative staff are feeling better organized around quality of patient care.
Cons
Nothing! I have no notes for improvement.
Response from Radar Healthcare

A user-friendly system supported by a brilliant team/company

The effort the team at Radar provide to their customers is second to none. From day one of starting with Radar we were assigned a Project Manager and a Customer Success Manager the latter of which we check-in with frequently to go through elements of the system, share ideas and understand what is coming in the future. This is in addition to a very competent support team that know their product inside out and not only provide a high-level support service, but also assist in recommending different approaches to enhance any new processes that we're working on deploying into the product.
Pros
For us the "Events" module is the standout feature for a data input perspective because it is incredibly customisable. Not only can we build forms exactly how we like with our our validation and logic rules, but we can also automate the workflows based on how the initial forms have been completed by our teams. For us this has been key in the system being able to adapt to each way our team members record information and ensure the correct pathway is built per incident. We've also been able to create bespoke email alerts for our management teams that provide them with key information as and when incidents are logged. We use the "Events" module for lots of our processes and as each can have different workflows configured the fact the user interface is always similar means we're now able to deploy new processes much faster as our teams require very little training. The "Analytics" area of the system compliments our "Events" module brilliantly as with our Analytics Builder license we've been able to build our own custom dashboards to display the data we collect in a much more user friendly graphical format.
Cons
Nothing of any real magnitude. We're really excited for the upcoming release of the new "Audits" module as the current version we do find quite restrictive in terms of what is possible. With the new version we're expecting to have a similar experience to the "Events" module where we can tailor the system to do exactly what we want.
Response from Radar Healthcare
Great review Craig, thank you.
We're incredibly proud of the support we give our customers and it's fantastic to see that and our partnership approach reflected in your review.

The Radar team have been exceptional from day one. From product demos and system walkthroughs to our staff when considering the product to providing excellent help and support throughout the system design and implementation. Their ethos is clearly to be a partner and try to support their clients making the system work for them and resolving any issue effectively and efficiently.
Pros
The events module is based on flexible workflows making the process easy for staff to use.
Workflow steps/actions are assigned to a specific person giving them ownership for completing the task.
It is easy for line managers to have an overview of outstanding actions allocated to their line reports.
Adaptable analytics enabling you to make the data collected insightful.
All workflows can use the same/similar functionality and therefore means staff do not need training in lots of different systems.
Cons
At the time of reporting, the Risk Register module is less configurable than the events module. That said, it still provides a robust, effective and easy to use system to monitor and manage risks to the organisation.
Where the management of an event does not follow the standard process (for example, where an investigation level is upgraded or downgraded mid-investigation), it can be more challenging to design the required workflow. However, the Radar team will advise and support you through it.
Response from Radar Healthcare

Their customer service and approach to listening to their customers has to be my favourite part of their software. Great support initially - and their enthusiasm and support has been flawless. Seriously. We have had queries - all the time - they answer them friendly, patiently and are really supportive. They have TONS of helpful information on their Help page - but we are bad in not using that as much as our customer service rep - as we very much like both of them! They do not constantly charge for more and more for general work and queries. They have also conducted workshops with their customers to find out better ways of doing things - and have actually listened to us and made improvements.
Pros
We really like the ease of using Radar. We have used it in many ways, and are still finding new ways of using it. During this pandemic we were able to make 2 new Events within 24 hours that tracked both cases of Covid and testing of Covid for staff. We are able to know at any point in time, within 2 minutes of all stats - Covid and others. It is easy to change about. Very few things are not changeable. We are using this across the organisation and it is very effective. We are able to change forms ourselves to respond to business changes - easily.
Cons
Introducing it. Nothing to do with Radar, but getting teams on board and getting it embedded was the hardest part. We had support from Radar at the time, and lots of meetings, but people change, and our training did not keep up internally - initially.
Response from Radar Healthcare
Thanks, Misha!

RADAR has allowed us to be much more transparent, ensure critical business processes are being completed and to be able to respond efficiently and effectively to incidents and emerging trends. Most importantly it enables us to ensure the safety of the people we support and gives us great evidence of a robust quality assurance process for the regulator.
Pros
Incident management, Audit and automatically identification of actions to contribute to the continues improvement (action Plans)- Placing emphasis on business processes begin followed and leaving no stone un-turned. The flexibility and adaptability to be able to make agile changes as and when the business required them
Cons
Being able to upload cross group actions in one transaction would be most helpful rather having to provide separate entries for each site can be time consuming.

Cons
Though there is a lot of flexibility with the system, there are aspects that as an organisation we would change. Its both a pro and a con, as it stays true to the system, be smaller tweaks have to join a list and development has to wait for a greater need.

Excellent! Radar are providing great project support for a robust implementation process and are customer focused and responsive to our needs.
Pros
We were interested in incident reporting, risks, complaints and compliments and patient and staff feedback and found all of this and more with Radar! The system is not be too complicated, flexible for our set up and with excellent reporting and analytics. Loved the fact that Radar was already an approved system for the new national patient safety system LFPSE.
Cons
The risk module does not fully meet our needs without some judicious 'work-arounds'. This is on the 'to do' list for Radar to develop further. The audit module is also currently limited to 'yes / no' questions, but a second version is currently in the test stage. We are looking forward to these developments. We did not adopt the Workforce module as it did not meet all our HR requirements. There are better products in the market.

Very positive, a close working partnership and we are looking forward to using the system with greater effect going forward.
Pros
It has been a highlight and foundation stone of our success in making our service compliant and transparent for internal and external stakeholders and sector regulator. From the very start we have worked extremely closely with Radar Healthcare is designing a compliance system that is a perfect fit for our business, instead of having to make all our users bend to the system. The fact that you can have this level and control and functionality is extremely important to us as we grow and expand, as we have been able to further develop and adjust so the fit remains perfect.
Cons
There are very few cons for us and the way we use the system. If anything it would be good to have more functional control on how the system is displayed for each user. I am aware that this is available with higher cost licences but I feel that this would attract more involvement and buy in from users. I would also really like a way of setting some of the filters and have the system remember the choices in areas other than the analytics.

RADAR is very easy to use, and lost of helpful user tips along the way if you get stuck. The customer support is fantastic and very responsive.
We now use RADAR for HR purposes as well as clinical and quality, the system is so adaptable you really can make a system specifically designed for you business and needs.
RADAR has made the job of ensuring overall quality in the group much easier and less time consuming, meaning time can be spend on development and support.
Pros
RADAR has totally changes the way we record and use DATA. prior to RADAR we used paper based system, which was time-consuming and cumbersome to manage. I love RADAR because it allows real time reporting, clear escalation of events where required, easy access to all Data via analytics. all of this has improved our clinical and quality governance, allowing us to look at trends in individual service as well as in a group. we loved that we could personalise each part of RADAR specific to our needs.
The customer support is fantastic, and they often check in to make sure everything Is ok.
Cons
The only part that could be improved is the initial set up, as I say this with the benefit of hindsight. it is very time consuming and the adder work for training the staff also take up a lot of time. However there have been development since we starts using RADAR like the form editor, which makes amending and creating new event alot easier.

We chose Radar because we were given the impression that we would be supported well by the company and this has proven to be true
Pros
Radar is user friendly. If however you run into difficulty with its use then there is always an easy way of finding out how to proceed that is all built into the system. Radar is helping us to see a real picture of risk across our organisation and we can then use this picture to build up a meaningful risk register (also embedded into the system). The analytics give you 'at a glance' information and the 'heat maps' are particularly informative.
Cons
The issues that we have found in the early days have been more about the way that we set Radar up than the system itself. With help and support we have overcome early teething problems.

Helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble. Always looking at ways to improve the system and involve us throughout. They do frequent webinars and have a fantastic user help section.
Pros
We have used Radar for over 3 years now and it has gone from strength to strength. We can have everything at our fingertips with ease and hold it in a format that works for us as an organisation.
It's a one stop shop for our staff - they can go their to access policies and procedures, incidents, complaints, audits and so on.
It's also great for circulating information using Notices. This has been particularly useful during the COVID pandemic as it's been easily to communicate with all staff on a daily basis by the touch of a button. We also have a COVID information file in the documents section which staff can access for further information as required.
Cons

Pros
The Workforce Compliance section of Radar is methodical and user-friendly. It keeps our managers organised and reduces the risk of missing important reviews such as probations and Supervisions. The way in which these meetings are logged is extremely simple - you don't have to be an IT genius to use Radar, which is very refreshing compared to systems used in the past!
Cons
There has been one occasion where there was an error at Radar's end which threw out all of our due dates which we had kept up to date, they tried to resolve as much as they could, however we had to correct the DBS dates from our end as this could not be rectified, which was quite time consuming. That being said, this has only happened once in a year.

Pros
Radar allowed our company to have a clear and structured oversight of incidents, being able to identify themes and trends gave insight and direction to areas that we could focus learning, development and reporting on. For me, the ability to link incidents to action plans, the risk register and audits provides a clear documented and evidential pathway that we are continuously striving to improve patient safety.
Cons
We spend a lot of time undertaking audits, ideally we would have the ability to produce the same audit in bulk rather than repeating the process 10-15 times a day.

Currently Radar has made a huge difference within our company of management, compliance and visibility. Currently still at the tage of developing the software and implementing.
So far this has been great.
Pros
The software gives you visability across the practices and also helps manage the daily tasks. The workflows are suitable to fit in with your business and easy to build and use.
Cons
Identifying how each area of compliance fits in to different areas within the software e.g Audits

We are still at relatively early stages of implementing Radar but to date my experience has been truly excellent. Real partnership working is evident in understanding our vision for the system and its role in quality assurance and improvement across our hospital trust. The thirst for innovation is inspiring and we have shared values in this respect which is very important to build confidence that the system will be delivered to meet our requirements.
Pros
Designed with flexibility in mind, excellent analytics and opportunity for continuously developing its application within our quality management systems.
Cons
Limited current audit module - but this is being successfully addressed through the Audit version 2 module currently in Beta version and with which we've been involved in its testing.
