Pros

Xactly allows you to streamline your monthly commissions process. It also allows your sales individuals to easily track their sales and commissions.

Cons

At times the software is confusing to use. It is difficult to diagnose why the software is not calculating commissions.

I've used Xactly Express along with Xactly Incent for a few companies now. I knew that when I...

I've used Xactly Express along with Xactly Incent for a few companies now. I knew that when I started at Host Analytics a couple years ago, there was no way I was going to manage compensation manually in excel. Within weeks, I was able to work with the Express services team to get all of our plans up and running. Since then, I've been able to manage any of the new plans or comp changes made. If I run into any issues or obstacles, their Customer Support team has always been there to quickly respond and help me out. I'm a huge fan of Xactly and the Express product!

There are things that Xactly does well and once built work very well and that makes the experience pleasurable. Xactly has a nice appearance and once we educate our sales members it is easier for them to follow. It is not intuitive and needs to be explained. Reporting is a challenge for the administrators as well as the Users.

Pros

I think that Xactly has a great look and for the standard commission practices it does well, it is highly valuable.

Cons

A few points for Xactly would be that Xactly still struggles with plan changes or multiple plan changes for an individual sales member and then struggles to manage YTD commissions for folks who have had a few plans. We struggle with gates in Xactly and since commissions are fluid, Xactly needs to be better at looking at YTD as well as monthly and quarterly for these changed folks. Xactly Analytics is a challenge because although it is part of the package, if all my commission data is in Incent, it should be easier to report off of it and it is not. You have to build logic in Analytics to get data that you can see so you end up pulling raw data from Incent and manually creating your reports which makes Analytics less valuable. Difficult logic is something that takes too much time sometimes to work through with external support. There is also no commission rate reporting. As sales cares what rates they get paid at, it is important to be able to track this and like other things, we have to do this manually. Sales looking for YTD data is a challenge because you have to download from Incent month by month. There should be this option for sales as well.

Pros

Ease of use for our field reps: dashboards and reporting self service so that they can see their commission real time. Our field reps also really like the estimator on their opportunities. This allows them to forecast/gage how much commission they can make based on the opportunity's current amount/deal size.

Cons

Reports and Dashboards in Salesforce...instead we had to build them in Xactly for our reps to access in the application, this adds another application we had to train our reps on.

Xactly is a very clunky old tool for managing sales commissions. It is not intuitive and takes a long time for me to try and figure out what I'm looking at every time I open it. The dashboards have never been correct, though I'd imagine that's the fault of our admin setting it up wrong. With a lot of brain power you can get the info you need, but it's a painful process that requires a lot of concentration.

There's got to be a more modern solution out there that is easier for reps to use. This will get the job done, but it's not a pleasant experience.

Pros

I like having a platform that can show me my compensation and how it is broken out.

Cons

It is very challenging to use. Every time I go in there it takes a long time to figure out how to see what I need to see. It is not intuitive at all.

Overall, I'd like to be able to judge my performance and that of my team. This software offers some options, but is less user friendly than a report in Dynamics or Salesforce, and requires iteration to find what I need.

Pros

In the end, I can see the information I need, after a fashion and have the ability to drill into the details.

Cons

The software is not intuitive, confuses quota attainment and pay, and has a ton of irrelevant and unuseful data.

It gives our Business the much needed flexibility to change compensation plans on the fly for our sales reps without compromising accuracy or transperancy. In addition, the Analytics module gives us the ability to provide quick and easy reporting for Payrol and Executive Staff.

When our comp plans became too complicated to manage through excel spreadsheets we decided to evaluate apps that would integrate with Salesforce.com Xactly Express met all our requirements, integration with SFDC, ability to manage complex plans and 360 views for Sales Team and Managers. Implementation was painless and we received excellent support throughout the process.

We are paying over 350 employees with Incent, with varying levels of overlay coverage. System is calculating the payout in 13 different currencies. I can't imagine trying to calculate our complex structure using Excel. I have not used another commission software to compare to.

Pros

This software is very flexible in that we can set up plans in different ways, i.e. direct reporting or Named Relationships. If we do find an error in the payout, it is because we did not have the employee configured correctly. It is very consistent, reliable. Happy to see that we can now version the quota and rate table records.

Cons

Incent, it does take some time to set up an employee.
Anayltics is not that user friendly. You have to really know what fields can be pulled together to make the report and then know how to combine the reports.
Modeling takes some work to get the desired info. We are till trying to figure it out.

I like it, it shows all pieces of data I want and need to see from a sales prospective. I can track daily my percent to target and dollar amount of commission to expect.

Cons

It has a lag often. There are days that go by that it still has not updated which makes sales tracking difficult.

Overall, it has been good. There is a learning curve with this software but once you take all the classes and learn that, it is pretty easy going. It has been nice to have one system for comp and eliminate human error when calculating via excel sheets.

Pros

Being able to calculate and house all compensation (variable comp, comp plans) in one system

Cons

Responce time - when you need to open a support ticket it can take 24-72 hours to get an answer back.

Overall, I'd recommend this tool for a small company. I love the accurate commission and draw calculations, the roll ups and, eventually, I will love Analytics, too!

Pros

I like quick turnaround for customer support. Since I am new to Incent and am configuring and administering plans, I often have questions. The Customer Support team is always quick to reply and can usually describe what I need to do, and they follow up to be sure their suggestion worked.

Cons

I'd like to have the Incentive Statement drill down to details more easily, the Analytics and Dashboards a bit more easy to build. Right now, they are a not as intuitive, especially for a new user. It would also be good to understand exactly how the Bonus works, as we did a lot of trial and error before we figured it out. I think the Learning in the Community Portal could do a little bit better job of explaining the 'why' along with the 'how'.

Pros

My favorite factor of this software is that there are continual updates to stay relevant with industry trends. such as having a way to map territories in a streamlined fashion.

Cons

I do not like that changes can not easily or be made at all. We deal with business, and sometimes those business do a legal name change. Xactly does not offer us a solution where we can add the new name and correlate it to the old name, such as having an alias. This causes us to have to manually update some fields when we send report to our partners.

This program is not only very accurate but it is also easy to navigate. My entire department relies on this to calculate our commissions and pay and it is clear, concise, and simple to use.

They do quite a bit of updates that mean data will not be able to be pulled during these times.

There are some great features. Love the fact that the sales reps can see the loans that they have closed in real time.

Cons

Changing plans can be difficult. You really need an expert to help which always come with a price. Reporting is a challenge.

It's accurate and usually fairly easy to use. It handles a lot of variables. Makes it easy to calculate commissions for a lot of employees.

Cons

Some plans can be difficult to set up--have to rely too much on customer service for these. Too many issues come up that need fixing.

Pros

Fairly easy to learn the logic for writing rules and a great software for straightforward sales plans. Xactly's implementation teams & customer service teams are generally good. Ability to route documents through the software is helpful.

Cons

A lot of the interface is fairly outdated, some has been updated recently but a ways to go still. Limited customization ability for a lot of the output files so that can be frustrating. A lot of relatively straightforward things (like pushing through a payment value) have to use workarounds based on how code works.

Pros

- easy to find out your commissions in a few clicks
- nice visual to see where you are on a monthly target
- nicely connected to many backend systems

Cons

the software UX / UI haven't been improved for the past 7 years iv'e been using the platform so im not sure if there are any improvements planned.

Great software but a bit clunky and hard to make edits

Pros

One stop shop for all reps/managers! I love that reps have one place to go to get all their questions answered!

Cons

Clunky, hard to troubleshoot. It's really tricky to make the ncessary edits here. Any mid year changes to a comp plan require speciailits.
