My experience has been great so far! I have started my journey into web design with WIX and I love the educational options that WIX STUDIO Provides.

Pros

I enjoy the continued development of this software. The system allows for easy and complex building throughout the platform. Customer service is always there to help at the click of a button and goes out of their way to ensure problems are solved. This is a great platform to build your business.

Cons

I believe the Ecommerce platform needs some work to be at the level of competitors. This is the only thing that I believe is holding WIX from being the most dominate in the market. Companies like WordPress has some major issues going on at the moment (though I understand there will be some changes), I doubt WooCommerce is going to be able to compete with Shopify in the future. If WIX can bridge this gap, then I believe that they can take the place as the largest website building/crm platform in the world.

Good, I did go to a different provider as I couldn't get the templates to accurately reflect my vision. I am not tech savvy nor coder so this may be easier for someone else. Integrations were good and wish my new service had these.

Pros

Easy to use- there were lots of templates. Lots of built in features which made setting email up, seo, social media integration easier.

Cons

Price was higher than their competitors, to change things I had to almost restart which made life alot harder than it should have been. If my company had grown I had been warned that it doesn't handle larger companies as well. This was a concern.

The large variety of templates means you can immediately get to work and look at a ton of ways to have your site look within minutes. Searchg functions even mean you can directly filter for your intended site type. The tools once you choose the basis to begin with are simple to grasp.

Pros

The clean and bright interface along with intuitive, sectioned-off design that lets you quickly prototype sites for various different purposes such art hosting portfolios or a blog site. There are also strictly finance-based sites like online stores.

Cons

Not much to dislike, aside from getting used to it if you started on other software, it stacks up to contemporaries like Adobe's XD application for example.

Wix is very user intuitive! We are a small family business and decided to try creating our own website from scratch and that didn't go over too well. So we stumbled upon WIX and were impressed with the fact it is made for beginners like us, all the way up to serious web designers!

Great for small business

I am a small business owner with a 15 year IT background. I no longer wanted to perform IT duties and wanted a website platform for my business that wouldn’t consume significant time to maintain and manage content. It ended up taking me almost 6 months of web development to launch my site due to Wix’s unavailable mass import for products (they have the feature now and it’s great). I had to do a lot of custom coding on the backend to make my website function for my particular product set because of limited tools and resources at the time. While Wix has been a fairly stable platform that requires little upkeep, the developers do often make changes that affect the websites function without any prior warning or documentation on resolution. For a while, I had to check my website functionality daily, just to make sure they hadn’t made changes that prevented website users from searching for and purchasing my custom goods. The past couple of years (2023-2024) have been somewhat better in terms of changes that significantly impact the website’s function. Overall, I am happy with the platform, but if I hadn’t been an IT professional, Wix (or any other platform) would not have worked for my particular product set. If you have products with few product options, Wix would be great. My unique products often have 100’s of different configurations for a single product with well over 3 million product SKU’s. These simple, easy to use, website hosting platforms are not designed to support this type of product set, but I refused to go back into IT just for my website and knew that in the long run, it was best to have a hosted solution, like Wix.

Pros

The point and click editor was an initial draw to Wix. Wix was also the only platform that would allow me to have the custom product options that my products require.

Cons

The developers constantly change things without providing any documentation and frequently kill features that destroy your websites useability, design, and layout. Support (although 24x7 priority support) is virtually nonexistent. They answer the phone, but I don’t think they have ever actually resolved anything.

It's usually good, except when the updates create more work. I did not like that and it has happened a few times now. I don't like the increase in fees and neither do my clients.

Pros

It's easy to work on, except when they make stupid updates that make it take 60 minutes to fix something that should have taken 5 mins.

Cons

Wix is a web designer that some say is not difficult to utilize and has an incredible by and large experience. It has an intuitive proofreader, a huge choice of layouts, and an easy to understand interface that can assist novices with following Website optimization best practices. Wix likewise offers a free arrangement for testing out the stage.

Pros

A simplified manager which awards you all out inventive control and the capacity to plan a site regardless of your expertise level. 900+ expertly planned layouts for a different scope of enterprises and site needs, including on the web stores and web journals.

Cons

Wix offers an immense variety of highlights and instruments to help you get and become on the web, yet it tends to be a ton to truly understand, particularly in the event that you're a fledgling to site building. Limitless extra room is just accessible on Wix's most costly arrangement.

I enjoy using it with my work, and I also chose to use it for my own personal website, but there are tiny details like the terrible SEO that really ruins it for me. I've encountered more issues on platforms like Wordpress or Squarespace, so it's really a lesser of two evils case.

Pros

I love the Wix interface, and in particular the Wix Studio. It gives so much customization for a website with very little UX design knowledge required, and it gives you way more freedom with your site than platforms like Squarespace.

Cons

They are really quite terrible with SEO. It is near impossible to get sites to rank, and there is a lot of unnecessary HTML that is added to your site that you can't edit or remove, which in turn leads to quite poor loading speeds and lower than average SEO scores. Especially considering that there is no recipe schema plugin, like you get with Wordpress, I have to write my own less effective recipe schema to try and help my recipes rank.

Pros:
1- Very easy to use and time saver for any level of web development,
2- Safe and fast servers,
3- High quality library.

Cons:
1- Expensive,
2- High renewal prices,
3- Extra costs,
4- Slow customer support.

Overall, if you have a budget to use for it, it's definitely worth it. But there is no any cheap alternatives for the presented technology.

Pros

Wix probably has the most efficient design tool for creating a web page. It's not only working with templates, also, you can create your own templates. You can easily add segments, like text, images, video, etc. Drag and drop features are very effective and useful. Besides this, contact page features are also very useful. I set up my contact form easily and this is a very complex process if you are not a web developer with WordPress and other types of platforms. I like the main panel too. I did my webpage responsivity for mobile phones and tablets with a couple of clicks.

Also, they have a really good library. You don't even need to pay for images to Stock image platforms.

Overall, I have my own website in Wix and plenty of accounts for my customers. Wix is totally a time saver. I'm not afraid of revisions after I start to work with Wix. Even though I have high experience with WordPress, my first choice is Wix. If you are a very beginner with Web page design, you can set up a professional-looking website within 2 hours and this is really great.

Cons

In my opinion, Wix has a great developer team but l can't say the same thing for the marketing department.

1- You can start using Wix at very low prices. They always offer %50 or even higher discounts for the first year. But after 1 year, you need to pay almost equal to 3 webpage costs.
2- The Wix premium domain does not include an e-mail account. You need to pay really high prices for each e-mail account for each person. Standart domain services is already have e-mail accounts. For every single customer, I also purchase a domain account from a different company and direct their e-mail account to Wix. This is a very exhausting process.
3- Last thing is, customer support is very slow. Once, I needed urgent help and I could get a response after 2 days. Also, you can contact Wix in your main language. But customer support is based in the USA (I think so) and you need to set your timezone for a phone contact. This is a serious minus for me.

I like Wix for the ease and to simply have a website as a brand front (a page for people to land on) or to maintain a blog. However, this was not going to be a lasting choice for me because ai wanted more out of my website. I needed more customization than I could get from Wix (free version).

Pros

Very user-friendly with many customization options available through their templates and the drag and drop system to build a site. It is easy to build a polished-looking website quickly so I would recommend it for website novices.

Cons

Mostly little tech issues bug me, like: not being able to switch templates once I've started on one, slow-to-load pages, or how I cannot input some coding to improve the functionality/appearance of a page. It can be restrictive if you want to do more with your website.

Overall, my experience with Wix has been positive. The platform is easy to use, with intuitive design tools and a variety of templates that allow for great customization. While there are some limitations regarding site speed and costs for premium features, the customer service has truly stood out. [sensitive content hidden], in particular, provided extraordinary assistance, going above and beyond to ensure my questions were answered and my needs were met. Her support made a significant difference in my experience, adding great value to the overall platform.

Pros

I appreciate Wix's user-friendly interface and flexibility in website design. The drag-and-drop features make it easy to customize the site exactly how I want, even without coding experience. Cons

WIX — Acceptable at best, but getting better.

WIX is okay at best. Their base subscription gives you access to a lot more themes when compared to it's competitors.

The default themes are nice, but WIX targets people who are typically inexperienced in web development. Sometimes giving the user the ability to move an individual item and place it literally anywhere on the page isn't the best idea when the user doesn't understand how it might hurt performance or SEO.

The WIX editor is clunky, slow, and inefficient when compared to others. Their hosting service has got to be one of the slowest for the money. Adding functions like WIX payments and bookings are made very easy, but removing them completely and properly is rarely mentioned anywhere it'd be useful.

The worst part about WIX is that you can have the experience to create something but may be limited by the outdated WIX editor. If you talk to their support they're happy to tell you to try their new WIX Studio editor (which is significantly better) but they don't mention that sites made on WIX Studio have a separate dashboard, cost more, and websites built on the regular editor cannot be migrated.

Lets say your client insists on using WIX, they're not tech savvy and aren't willing to pay extra every month for a WIX studio built site.

Now you have one store to manage through the WIX dashboard. God forbid they ever change their mind because WIX says migrating is NOT possible so it will have to be rebuilt from scratch.

If you are managing stores on both WIX and WIX Studio you need to have two very inefficient dashboards open taking up precious resources.

WIX is an acceptable product to learn the ins and outs, but falls behind when you have to use something so half baked on a recurring basis. I would strongly recommend against WIX if you can afford a higher subscription price.

Pros

WIX makes it easy to create a beautiful looking website.

Cons

WIX has poor customer service and a ton of UI inconveniences for those who build websites for clients.

The chairman at a non-profit that I volunteer at, was complaining about the cost that website designers wanted in order to replace their very old-fashioned website. Although I have many years of software experience, I had never built a website before. I looked around and there were many recommendations for Wix, so I decided to have a try.
I found the software very easy to use, with lots of built-in tools, all of them very configurable. Within 2–3 days I had a professional, working, website. Because of financial limitations, I only used their free tools, but those were enough for what they needed.
The site shows off who they are, what they do, their past and current projects, their future activities, their current and archived newsletters. It has a sign-up for email updates, a contacts page and even a donations page that accepts credit cards.
I will probably add a blog, so that our volunteers can talk about their experiences.
The chairman was overwhelmed, especially when he saw that the hosting would cost less than they were currently paying.
