Standard of Excellence Within The Online Consulting World

If there is something I want to create within my services or ask during my client's scheduling process, I love that I can customize that within Acuity. The service truly offers everything you can think of to customize each step of the scheduling journey.

Pros

It's an all-in-one platform to show your calendar, allow booking, and take payments. Acuity really shines in its paid plans because then you can easily integrate features. It streamlines the booking process and saves time on your end. The Free plan can be effective if you have some alternative options for taking payments outside of the Acuity platform.

Cons

All of the integrations such as: sending reminder emails, accepting payment methods, syncing to your personal calendar, etc are all paid only features. The Free plan is okay to start but quite limited. The lowest-priced paid plan feels like too big of a step up for business owners who are setting up their business but not yet bringing in reliable income.

Reasons for Switching to Acuity Scheduling

I like that Acuity is the standard within the industry of consultation services. I've booked with other astrologers, tarot readers, business consultants, and most everyone uses Acuity. It is a platform I was familiar with seeing and, therefore, I bet my clients will also have an easier time navigating the service, too.

Our company used Acuity scheduling for years without issues. Even when we tried other software, we always came back to Acuity but it just simply worked.

Pros

Acuity is a simple and clean piece of software that is straightforward and insightful. It provides enough flexibility to be used in a number of applications. For our sports training business it allowed up to separate appointment types, create custom calendars and send notifications. I really liked that it interacted with our website so clients didnt have to leave our site to book a session.

Cons

Reporting in acuity is a bit clunky for how we used the software. Instead of going off package pricing, acuity uses per session pricing which makes our revenue numbers look great but they are inaccurate. Additionally there are limited customization options for the booking pages unless you have advanced knowledge of CSS styling.

Alternatives Considered

Vagaro, eSoft Planner, EZFacility and Mindbody

Reasons for Switching to Acuity Scheduling

Acuity was significantly cheaper to operate compared to these other options. As a small business owner, I do not have the amount of capital every month that other software charges so Acuity was a no brainer for us.

Acuity Scheduling is a powerful and flexible tool for businesses needing a reliable appointment management system. Its integrations, automation, and ease of use make it a strong choice, though it may not be the best fit for businesses on a tight budget or those needing complex event scheduling.

Pros

User-Friendly Interface – Acuity is easy to navigate, both for businesses setting up their schedules and for clients booking appointments.

Cons

Learning Curve for Advanced Features – Some users find the deeper customization options a bit tricky.

I use it. It functions for what I need. I'm glad for some features. I have been using it for a very long time. But, I don't like the interface. There are issues I'd like to solve and ways to use it that are not easy and intuitive to figure out. Also there are ways to use it that I don't know how to find.

Pros

Integrates with squarespace. I don't believe anything else does and I believe squarespace bought out acuity so there you go. I know a lot of huge businesses use acuity so I'm open to learning how to use it more effectively.

Cons

Acuity does not make using it easy to learn, navigate or figure out. Their help features really stink. They have all this writing you can put into your availability type. I thought this was emailed to the client when they received their link. So I put all this time into writing up my parameters etc. and no one was following them. Finally I figured out that it is only shown when someone is scheduling and since I schedule in my coaching clients they never even see it! I didn't figure this out for 2 years! I still don't know how to put the writing in the correct place. I see it with other's using acuity. I also hate the interface. I love Calendy's interface. Clean, simple, intuitive. Acuities is very program or techy and not intuitive. Also, when you export your client into it does not keep all their appointment info which is what I needed and so I lost all that data and there is no way to export it. And, I didn't know I would be loosing it until it was already done.

Acuity gets the job done and has many great and useful features. I never had a problem with it and would recommend it.

Pros

I like that I can have custom email reminders and follow up emails, use it for classes, use discount codes, and have many staff members use it. The calendar syncing feature is also really nice.

Cons

I'm not a fan of the interface, its not always the most intuitive and the client facing side isn't the most attractive.

Overall, I'm very happy with Acuity scheduling.

Pros

The software works consistently and reliably. It's reassuring to know that customers are receiving the correct information, and we are aware of any changes in real time. Being able to ban problem customers is essential for us. The forms allow us to create click-wrap agreements with our clients.

Cons

My only issue with acuity is the look of the booking form. There isn't a lot of scope to alter the appearance, and the standard format isn't the most visually appealing.

Acuity Scheduling has transformed how we manage appointments at our university, giving us useful insights. Its strong reporting features help us spot peak times for student services, allowing better resource use and significantly cutting down wait times.

Pros

The platform's strong integration features have created a smooth data system, letting us link appointment data with student performance metrics and gain valuable insights into how support services affect academic results. Its customisable reports help us create detailed analytics on service use, find underused resources, and optimise staffing across departments.

Cons

We sometimes face API rate limits during busy times, which can delay real-time data updates and impact the accuracy of our instant reports.

Acuity is an awesome booking system. We use it to manage our business room meeting reservations and the whole system is very easy for our customers to use. The software has paid for itself over and over again!

Pros

We use Acuity Scheduling to reserve our meeting room space. Acuity has automated our booking and payment process so clients can book online without needing to work with a human. Payments are processed through Stripe and are deposited directly into our business bank account in a matter of days. Acuity has reminder email and SMS available to help eliminate no shows. Acuity also integrates with Google Calendar so you can quickly check for upcoming meetings on your phone.

Cons

I wish we didn't have to login to Stripe to issue refunds when meetings are cancelled. It would be nice if there were a front-end experience in Acuity.

There are some limitations with add-ons. We sell pots of coffee as an add on, and there's no way for a customer to select how many pots of coffee they would like to purchase. Add ons are limited to checkboxes, no quantities.

It works for one prong of my business and is well priced! It’s a partner biz with Squarespace too so they’re very compatible on my website.

Pros

The pricing model is affordable and you can begin setting up your account as soon as you pay — there’s even a free version!

It’s super easy to let customers book and purchase online and the email setup (confirmation, reminders, etc) and they can modify and change on their own too!

Cons

The booking widget and checkout aren’t as visually customizable as I’d like. It also doesn’t customers book recurring lessons and choose the dates, so it’s not good for weekly music lessons/tutoring, etc.

Helps reduce my scheduling workload

Reviewed on 2024/03/28

Pros

I love that patients can schedule and manage their own appointments. It doesn't require an email exchange with me to do so which is nice. Another real game changer was the lack of administrative time spent on sending out reminders manually. I actually get to take the time I was spending on scheduling, rescheduling, and reminding and direct that energy to patient care.

Cons

The only minor drawback is that some patients have reported difficulties figuring out how to cancel or see their appointments. These complaints are usually from less tech-savvy folks. I created a standard email for how to save appointments to their calendar and how to log into Acuity to see appointments if you didn't. It cuts down a lot on questions.

Basic and not helpful. Seems if you're a US customer you have more options as well.

Pros

Overall this software has all the basics that I need to run my art studio - class bookings. I can manage my schedule, bookings, my staff schedule, clients etc. all in one place.

Cons

Zero support, zero help videos, zero tutorials except for some basic beginner stuff on YouTube. I am fairly tech-knowledgeable, but going back and forth by email to a central email address about a specific issue is not only tedious but totally ineffective.

Even at the higher levels, I cannot customize add-ons for events, such a birthday party - additional guests at a cost per guest. I also would like to have more access on the mobile, but it's very basic. For example, if I want to provide the direct scheduling link to someone say on Instagram quickly from my phone, I cannot. I need to log in through the desktop platform and get it that way. I feel like this software has some features that I don't need at all, and lacks many that I would like to have. The biggest CON is the service though, ZERO help, might as well be a robot sending out Q&A responses, in fact it might just be. Always seems to be "Connor". Couldn't you just create some simple how-to instructional videos at the very least? Super frustrated, and now I am stuck with them for a year.

Acuity Scheduling is an all-around and complete suite for online scheduling. It is cross-platform and allows multiple device access which allows users to easily access and utilise it even when on the go.

Pros

The freedom, flexibility and convince that Acuity gives me by allowing a two-way synchronization with my Google Calendar. Whenever a client books an appointment on my Acuity booking page, it's automatically added to my Google Calendar. Conveniently enough, if I happen to add a date to my main calendar, that particular time is automatically marked as "unavailable" on my Schedule so if a client wants to book an appointment at that particular time they will know I'm unavailable and choose a different time.

Cons
