Kanban Tool Review
Reviewed on 2023/09/19
Pros
One of the most valuable aspects of Kanban Tool is the ability to have a consolidated view of everyone's tasks on a single board, which not only streamlines project management but also facilitates the efficient allocation of new tasks as needed. This centralized visibility promotes enhanced collaboration, enables better task prioritization, and simplifies the process of assigning new responsibilities to team members, ultimately contributing to improved productivity and project success.
Cons
While it's effective for task management and project tracking, it can be costly, challenging to access support, and has a steep learning curve.

Pros
The initial setup was easy as I was looking for a simple Kanban tool that I could integrate into my business quickly and with little cost.
Cons
The navigation was less intuitive than I expected at first, but learning the flow was not difficult.

Kanban Tool, a fully adaptive tool for the execution of agile projects.

Kanban Tool has unlimited use to maintain order and structure in practically all the activities that we can plan in an organization, what we do with the Kanban Tool and with a whiteboard depends on our imagination and how we like to work. The tool faithfully meets the objectives and is an excellent support to achieve a transparent and successful execution, in addition to not only maintaining control with our work team but also keeping our clients informed about the progress.
Pros
Definitely, by using a board in Kanban Tool, we can considerably increase our productivity in the execution of projects and streamline our work team. In addition, by using the time estimation reports and graphs offered by the platform, we can monitor the performance of our staff and generate graphs that allow us to continuously improve our work process, without having to wait until the end to know exactly the efficiency. . individual or group.Another great feature is that we can make our team work in small groups, combined with team members from different departments and achieve more dynamic results without clutter, since the contributions of all people are based on well-defined tasks, with estimates of time and total visualization by the entire work team.
Cons
Kanban Tool has become a tool for daily use for the execution of projects that require the participation of technical personnel, also for software development, completing tasks in a project, providing services and much more. However, I think that for large projects, we should invest time to correctly plan our boards and not design them with too many cards. I particularly prefer to separate the project into stages and design a dashboard for each one of them, and in this way I can more easily manage the activities and not generate views with too much information.

My overall experience has been good, quick setup, customization, and the support group was very responsive to any challenges I experienced with the product.
Pros
When I became a project manager, I originally discovered Kanban Tools and wanted a visual way of tracking small sub-projects with short life cycles. It was easy to set up and adjust to the project's demands.
Cons
Today, I can't think of any cons, as most of them have been worked out. However, I will suggest more ideas to improve Kanban Tools with continued use.

My overall experience with KanbanTool has been great. On the positive side, I truly appreciate its simplicity and the ease with which I can manage tasks and track progress. The visual representation makes it quick and straightforward to grasp where my tasks stand. However, on the downside, I must admit that the tool's interface feels quite outdated. It lacks the modern aesthetics and smooth user experience I've come to expect from project management tools. Despite this, KanbanTool still manages to effectively serve my basic task management and progress tracking needs, offering a pragmatic solution for my workflow.
Pros
This simplicity allows me to quickly grasp the status of my tasks and projects at a glance. I also value the customizable boards, which let me adapt the tool to my workflow. Overall, it's the ease of use and visual clarity that stand out as my favorite aspects of KanbanTool.
Cons
What I found least appealing about KanbanTool is its somewhat outdated interface. The design feels a bit behind the times compared to more modern project management tools.

I have spent 6 months looking for a cost effective Kanban tool. I have tried multiple CRM systems and Kanban tools throughout all of which have appeared overly complex, daunting and off putting without ever really giving me what I need as a sole trader. Kanbans flexibility, affordable low monthly cost and system functionality is perfect for me as a mortgage broker. I would gladly (and have) recommended this to other colleagues in the industry.
Pros
Easy to Use
Quick to Set up
Reminders linked to email and outlook calendar
Personalisation features allow this to meet the needs of my business
Multiple Boards available
Future dated reminders for product renewals can be set.
Cons
Email task reminders take you direct to the clients card however sometimes for a client I can have multiple tasks so having the email specific to the task that is due that day would save time reviewing your clients card to establish which task is due on that given day.

So far having used Jira for almost two decades, this tool is refreshing in its lightness and simplicity. This is not sacrificed in feature or function just overhead and noise which is appreciated. I find it very helpful for my own personal use and management of family and work projects in parallel to at work tools that are exclusive to enterprise tasks and hard to privatize.
Pros
I like that the interface is clean and fluid. The core features as compared with a much larger tool like Jira is there and functions equally well and, in some cases, better. The product is light, able to maintain a single interface without too many page changes taking you out of the element. It has potential for growth, but it doesn't try to replicate Jira which is a plus.
Cons
There isn't something that I don't like per se, just perhaps unable to test since I am on the free tier. The fact that they have a free tier is a plus. Some of the desired features lacking in free tier feel like they should be included. The function of some powerups are hard to understand as they are not explained. When you do activate them, it is not readily clear how they should work, better onboarding would be welcome. The right column where the calendar, recurring and postponed tasks are located are fixed in size and not fluid, so if you have more in one and less in others, you have a ton of wasted space.

A very positive experience. Easy to start. Took me a few minutes on my phone to create this. Any other platform would have taken me a solid hour to understand the options and full blown laptop to see it. Also has responsive(enough) design to see on mobile devices
Pros
It is simple to setup. If you know the basics of Kanban and just want to get started and running, it does all those jobs. It doesn't overwhelm you with a million different options and scare you away
Cons

Kanban Tool is a great tool for project management, with a lot of features that make it efficient and easy to use.
Pros
Kanban Tool is a great tool for organizing and managing projects. It allows for efficient task and project management, with a visually intuitive drag-and-drop interface. The main feature that I like best about Kanban Tool is the ability to create and customize boards and lists to fit the specific needs of each project. I also like that it provides a comprehensive view of all tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities in one place. It also gives users the ability to assign tasks to specific individuals, check progress and keep track of conversations associated with each task. This makes it easy to stay organized and on top of all project-related activities. Additionally, Kanban Tool offers a free version, which is great for small teams and individuals who are just starting out. I also appreciate the fact that it is cloud-based, so all information is stored in an online space and is accessible to all team members.
Cons
One of the biggest drawbacks of Kanban Tool is its lack of collaboration features. It does not offer any built-in collaboration tools, such as comment boards, chat, or video conferencing, which can make it difficult to work with remote teams.

Flexible, Intuitive Time and Task Management
Reviewed on 2017/04/20

I was recently on the hunt for a task management tool that I could run separate from the commercial products used at my workplace. This would allow me to add in personal tasks and lower level tasks that weren't appropriate to track in the enterprise boards I was a part of.
I came upon Kanban Tool and was immediately impressed by the set up options; At a basic level, you already have access to basic, time and event driven Kanban boards, as well as several types of team boards for collaboration. From there, you can further customize the columns, number of lanes, and functions. You can import and export tasks through .csv and and calendar, making everything portable.
In practice, I was impressed with the simplicity of the cards on the board. They can be created by color, helpful when trying to manage a bunch of different workflows like I am. At a glance, I can also see the priority, days until due (or past due days!), and the number of sub-tasks within a card. That's right - You can set up checklists WITHIN the card, which is hugely useful. If you like to have a card for each subtask, you can do that to, and mark subsequent tasks as blocked until the subtask is complete. I also enabled a cool extra that causes cards to "fade" over time, giving another visual cue to things that aren't getting done.
Time tracking for each task was a bit of a revelation. Once I got in the habit of shifting every task I was working (The timer starts as soon as you put it in the "in progress" zone), I got really good info on what type of tasks were chewing up time, and even on the fact that I was working on a lot of things throughout the day that I didn't think to track.
Finally, Kanban Tool offers what they call "Power-ups", which are basically plugins. The ones I have been really excited about are the ability to attach files to Dropbox or Onedrive, a custom Chromecast feature that allows the board to be cast up to a TV (Great for my family chore board in particular!), and one that allows you to manipulate checklists without opening cards.
In the end, the only real niggle I had with the product was that while I can manually arrange cards in the To Do area (I use multiple swim lanes), one lane can't be longer than the others.
I am an enthusiastic product researcher, so I was a bit surprised when my productivity management hunt just lost steam after starting with Kanban Tool. For flexibility and daily use, I couldn't ask for more.
Pros
Flexibility, extensibility, intuitive interface.
Cons
Not being able to fully manually arrange to do items.

An easy visual for a team that spoke two different languages. There were also members of the sales team that had very minimal experience with project management requirements, documentation, and technology as a whole. The visual ease of this tool created less stress and everyone knew what expectations were required yesterday, today, and tomorrow. What held them up, what actions they had that held others in limbo, and of course the ability to celebrate in unison when the team accomplished a goal.
Pros
Language and cultural differences didn't slow down the learning of the team. The visual ease of the tool is phenomenal. Recording important files, checklists, due dates, and handoffs became very smooth.
Cons
There were older execs on the board that still preferred to see a Gantt chart for the integration of different services. This flies against what Kanban was meant to do. There was no easy way to export a report and create a Gantt chart for others. External reporting as a whole is not easy.
