Localize

Website translation & localization software for businesses

About Localize

Localize puts translation of your web app on auto-pilot, eliminating the need for in-house translators, programming skills, or a dedicated internationalization team.

Installation is simple: copy and paste Localize's javascript code snippet into the header of your website and hit refresh. That's it.

The Localize dashboard helps users to manage multilingual content, provides an easy way to order translations from professionals, and delivers those (after your approval) immediately to users. Businesses can have their website translated within a few days.

Traditionally, this process has been too difficult and expensive for all but the largest of companies. The Localize platform changes that, working equally well for startups, enterprises, and small businesses with big ambition.

Localize helps businesses to expand into global markets faster, easier, and earlier, acquire customers faster, and retain them for longer. Implementing Localize means that developers don't have to build the translation technology in-house, themselves. Marketers immediately multiply their addressable user-base and product managers optimize the experience for existing users.

Join thousands of customers in over 40 countries, with content in over 150 languages.

Website Localization with Ease

The development effort involved with translating a platform of our size would have been cumbersome - both in the initial implementation, as well as in ongoing support. With Localize, we were able to support localization of our platform with less than a month of development effort. With the support of localization, we are now able to reach and appeal to a broader audience.

Pros

Localize has an easy to use interface and has enabled our team to translate our platform with minimal development or administrative effort.

Cons

The only feature that caused any (very minimal) trouble for our team is the default to enable automatic archiving. We have an introductory assessment that is only periodically revisited, so the phrases were quickly moved to the archive and therefore did not show as immediately translated upon the next identification. Disabling the automatic archiving resolved this for us.

Response from Localize

Hi Britt!

We typically set our default setting for the most popular use cases, though we do have great pride in the versatility of our product. I'm so glad that you and your team were able customize Localize to your specific needs. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything!

Good for static sites

Reviewed on 2019/12/17

Pros

Good for static website translation, allows us to work in 3 languages.

Cons

Not great for changing platforms or non-static sites. Best for static marketing sites.

Response from Localize

Hi Andy!

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review! It sounds like you might not be utilizing Localize to its full potential. Localize works great with dynamic sites! Check out this help doc to find some best practices using var tags! After implementing this, if you are using machine translations, you can also set your content to auto-translate. If you have any questions on other ways you might be able to improve your experience, please let us know! :)

Easy to use translation platform

Reviewed on 2021/10/12

Pros

Translations are implemented right away on our webpage after they have been proofread from our end.
For a translator, proofreading is very easy and you can approve a machine-generated translation or improve it with a simple click.
Customer support is doing a great job in educating us on how to best use the platform and navigate through it to have the best experience for our specific needs.

Cons

I would like to be able to simultaneously see where the line I am translating is located on our webpage.
The context is important for the correct translation, so seeing where the word is located on our webpage will be very useful.

Great tool to localize your websites

We needed to localize several webapps across multiple teams in very short time frame. We could not have achieved the results without this tool. The translators are happy to use the tool and required minimum guidance. Developers adapted to the new tool quickly.

Pros

LocalizeJs (LJS) was very easy and fast to set-up and start showing results in target language. All the phrases/strings from your apps go to the same tool and are easy to see and manage. The tech support/help is very responsive and helpful to deal with all kinds of problems you might have.

Cons

Since LJS pushes all the strings from your Webapps to their tool, it is little bit tedious to find all the data that must not be send to the tool, e.g. confidential user information etc. You still have to find a way to localize possible 3rd party components on your Webapp, because at least we were not able to translate them properly with LJS. The tool is not geared towards deployment flow, where you have DEV, QA, Staging and Production environments and you have to move phrases/strings between different environments.

Response from Localize

Thanks for you feedback, Jussi! It's great that you and your team were able to accomplish so much in a short time frame, thank you for choosing us!

If you visit the following link you'll see how Localize actually does support different environments:

I would also like to encourage you to shoot us an email ([email protected]) anytime you think of an improvement we can make. User feedback is so incredibly valuable to us.
