Vonage Business Communications

About Vonage Business Communications
Vonage Business Communications offers a cloud-hosted business VoIP phone system which comes with over 40 calling features including cell phone integration, desktop plugins, and voicemail to email, plus additional features which can be added to the account for an additional fee.
Free mobile apps for iOS and Android give employees access to the full phone system wherever they are. The work from anywhere feature means employees can take their desk phone home or elsewhere, and have the same phone system access as in the office.
The system can be easily scaled according to business needs, and lines and features can be managed through the online admin portal.
In the event of power outages or loss of Internet, the call continuity feature enables the phone system to automatically re-route calls to a cell phone or other backup number.
The Vonage customer care and technical staff are available every workday as well as after hours and weekends for emergency service, and the support website contains advice, videos, and troubleshooting tips. Orientation and admin portal training are also available for new customers.
Key benefits of Vonage Business Communications
Busy Lamp Field (BLF) allows users to see which phones on the system are in use, in real time. Each BLF key acts as speed dial to the associated phone.
Call announce whispers an audible call tag before the call is connected, informing users of the caller ID, and for calls forwarded to personal cell phones, an announcement that the incoming call is a business call, to ensure a professional answer.
Call continuity reroutes calls to a backup number in the event of loss of power or Internet connection, preventing service interruption and dropped calls.
Call recording is available both company-wide and on demand on an extension-by-extension basis. Company-wide recording is controlled by system administrators, with files downloadable and shareable by email. On-demand recording allows users to record important calls to verify conversation details or take accurate notes, and works with the mobile app.
Call monitoring allows administrators to listen in on users’ calls to monitor performance, and also “whisper” to the user on the call, and “barge” into the call and speak to both parties. Calls can be monitored anywhere in the world.
Call groups can be set up, creating virtual departments with every extension ringing simultaneously for an inbound call to ensure that no inbound calls are missed.
Voicemail-to-email and voicemail transcription enable users to check their voicemail from their PC and phone, check messages when it is not possible to take a call, and forward voicemails via email.
The virtual receptionist lets users route callers to the appropriate department or individual, and customize call routing for holidays, lunchtimes or after hours calls. A main company number can then be used on promotional material, with callers directed to the correct department by selecting a menu option.
Vonage Business cloud technology supports conference bridge, allowing up to 30 users to participate in a single call, on a dedicated number, with no need for a third-party conferencing system.
Paperless fax removes the need for manual faxing, facilitates the sending of faxes from both mobile and desktop, gives all users their own fax numbers and manages all email, voicemails and faxes in a single inbox.

It helps in the rapid development of a certain type of app, like VoIP, so you don't have to re-invent the wheel and spend a lot of valuable development time.
Pros
What I like the most are the API docs and the previews of the available implementations - you can use a demo conferencing app to have video and audio calls.
Cons
There are occasional issues that are very hard to debug, especially in terms of audio quality drops - I hope you add more detailed logging for this in the future.

Vonage's services are sufficient for our company's communications requirements, be it direct calls, messaging, conference calls, or even call campaigns. The support is very prompt with their responses and resolutions.
Pros
The interface is very easy to navigate and neat. Call management and messaging align with the latest design language for such phone systems. The desktop app and mobile app work seamlessly in terms of notifications and call transfer between the devices,
Cons
The admin portal could be managed better and the categories on the website are a bit confusing to navigate so maybe that could be reordered and renamed to make it easier to reach the desired page. The integrations apps portfolio can also be enhanced by getting more of the popular apps onboard.

It has been average. The only bad side is SMS integration and support to it.
It has been average. The only bad side is SMS integration and support to it.
Pros
It is very easy to use, good interface and easy to be integrated with other tools. The UI/UX is great. Especially when it comes to texting.
Cons
Product support. We wanted support for texting and it has been a horrible experience. They have Neximo for the SMS integration and support and the support experience has been horrible. They don't answer the calls or respond timely.

I appreciate the high level of customer service and the responsiveness of the team in general. We decided to move from land lines to VoIP and are very happy that we opted to partner with Vonage for the transition. They have been very patient and helpful along the way.
Pros
The flexibility of this software is my favorite feature. I mostly work from home, and I can easily make changes for any of our users from the online dashboard, the computer app, or the phone app. The end-users at our office have successfully learned how to navigate the handsets and the online dashboards.
Cons
We are still working on our fax numbers. Porting the number from our previous provider has proven difficult.

Also looked at PanTerra. We chose Vonage because of the initial connection with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]. She was informative, responsive, knowledgeable, and empathetic.
