Zoho Vault
About Zoho Vault
Zoho Vault offers password storage and management in the cloud. Although many of Zoho Vault's features are doubtlessly handy to individuals, the app has an assortment of features which are ideal for teams that use shared applications and Web resources. For those types of users, Zoho Vault provides secure password management, activity logging, and access control suitable for teams of all sizes.
Zoho Vault features all the tools needed to manage multiple passwords with professional efficiency. The app’s dashboard can import existing passwords in bulk as well as generate new ones. Generated passwords can be quite complex, which can cut down on password repetition. Zoho Vault’s password generation routine allows input of user-definable password policies, letting users generate secure passwords compatible with existing applications. Zoho Vault can also build and export password databases, which is helpful for creating printed password master lists. The downloaded files are in HTML format and feature full data encryption.
Zoho Vault provides direct login to website and local applications without needing to type in a password. This time-saving feature also keeps passwords hidden by default, which enhances over all security by combating prying eyes. Other tools inside Zoho Vault allow users to add custom fields, including text and file attachments and to search password data for keywords. For teams that use a large number of passwords, the app’s sorting makes tracking down rarely used passwords more efficient.
Zoho Vault lets users share passwords and track user activities. The application automatically records login attempts with time stamps. Users can also set permissions with varying levels of access privilege for team members. Zoho Vault stores long term records of password activities and can produce detailed reports of logins and failed login attempts. The app also allows users to share passwords while keeping the text hidden. This means Zoho Vault can be used to share login information with partners and outsources collaborators. Password sharing and credential revocation all work in real-time via the Zoho Vault dashboard.
The most important security feature of Zoho Vault is its encrypted passphrase, which allows access to Vault and therefor all the passwords stored in it. The passphrase uses latest generation encryption and is not stored anywhere locally or in the cloud. The passphrase is memory-only for team members, meaning that no third-party can possibly gain access to encrypted data inside Zoho Vault.
Zoho Vault uses strong 256-bit data encryption to keep passwords safe in the cloud and in local files. The app works on the Web and iOS and Android versions are available. A true end-to-end solution, Zoho Vault also has extensions for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox Web browsers.

Zoho Vault is the Bomb

I protect my personal and business credentials with Zoho Vault and will continue to do so into the future. I recommend it to anyone who will listen.
Pros
I was originally a LastPass user until LP raised their prices and told me to kick sand. Zoho Vault is as good or better than LastPass for a quarter of the price. I use it for my business and personally. Have it on a desktop, laptop, Chromebook and 2 phones. Does what it claims to do and does not burn a whole in your wallet.
Cons
Has some issues on the Chrome and Edge browsers, seems like they have fixed the Chrome issues with the latest update.

I like the fact that you can define labels and group passwords and credentials by type. Also, I like the fact that Zoho Vault can generate and file secure passwords for me when I register to a new service. Maybe the user interface could be given a revamp? But these are unessential aspects, and all the juicy features are there.
Pros
Zoho Vault has a lot of useful features. You can associate passwords with icons, making it faster to find the one you need. You can file attachments (e.g., you can file a scanned copy of your bank code sheet together with your bank credentials). You can use you password vault on any device through an Internet browser, or use the dedicated mobile applications (which, however, requires you to be online). Password synchronisation across devices occurs in real time. You can define your own templates for different password, credential and document types. The paid version allows centralised management of credentials for teams.
Cons
Although you can have a password-protected, offline copy of your vault mailed to you every night, using it is not straightforward and the mobile app needs to be online to retrieve passwords (so it may be difficult to retrieve the password you need if you phone is in a blind spot).

Cannot delete shared with me passwords
Reviewed on 2024/07/30
Pros
I like the idea of a Password vault , but disappointed with the functionality.
Cons
I cannot delete "shared with me passwords". We sold the business over 18 months ago and there are dozens of shared passwords in my Zoho Vault account. These are obsolete passwords for companies and individuals that are not around anymore. How can Zoho build a vault were you cannot delete a "shared with me" password. To suggest that someone contact a business that is gone is unreasonable.

Great tool for managing customer account credentials amongst a team

I have a team of 8 product analysts who are currently managing credentials for over 400 customers on up to 8 different sites per customer. Utilizing Zoho's API, we have been able to create a secure form for customers to submit their credentials directly to our admin account and then are accessible to all team members through their Chrome and Safari toolbar extensions. The main reason we went with Zoho was so that I could allow team members to login to client's accounts without ever being able to view (and potentially) copy the customer's secure information. However, it has also improved our workflow as the one-click login access makes it faster and easier to manage the program.
Pros
I like the ease of setting up Secrets and Chambers to easily organize customer credentials. Zoho Vault is also an excellent tool to manage credentials and provide multiple users access to one-click login ability without ever having access to the actual password information. Customer service is fantastic.
Cons
One-click login access is a little more difficult to set up for sites like Google where the login is multi-step, but it is possible with the correct URL structure. There can also be a slight delay for team members accessing credentials via the toolbar extension when updates are made via the admin account.
Reasons for Switching to Zoho Vault
It had the features that we needed to manage the program in its current state and the flexibility to scale as the product was growing quickly.Zoho Vault FAQs
