Business VoIP software and phone systems

3.5/5 (14 reviews)

Fonality Overview

Fonality is a cloud-based business VoIP software offering users a business phone system and contact center solution, whatever their business size. As standard, Fonality includes unlimited calls and basic call queues, automated greetings, and basic features such as call forwarding and routing, ring all, and voicemail, in all subscriptions, with additional features available in the more extensive packages. Paperless faxing and continuous call recording are also available as add-ons.

Fonality’s Heads Up © is available both through a web browser and as native iOS and Android apps, giving users access to Fonality both in and outside of the office. Through the HUD, users can access the full company directory and see colleague availability, add external contacts, set their own preferences, see recent calls, chat with colleagues, start video conferences, share files, and more.

Fonality allows users to manage their voicemails through their phone, email or desktop, with voicemails available both as audio recordings and text transcriptions, which can be sent to users by email or SMS. Users can also create personalized call routing, such as simultaneously ringing multiple devices or phone numbers, and setting specific rules for VIP callers to prevent their calls being missed.

Fonality also includes emergency management capabilities, allowing users to route callers to alternative locations or change auto-attendant options and greetings in situations where emergencies or unforeseen events prevent workers from being able to reach the office.

We use Fonality for our phone systems for a 20+ person office. The phone service is great and customer support can be helpful.

Pros

The availability of different options - technical support can be helpful.

Cons

Their website is terrible for changing your phone systems and there is no clear way you are supposed to do things. In addition, their vocabulary they use to describe things you can do is not something you understand unless you know.

Phone Skills

Pros

I think that the call parking feature is super easy to use with the click and drag feature. I also think the interoffice communication abilities (chat, intercom, calling, etc.) makes my job much easier. I work for a very fast paced ophthalmology practice with a very high volume of phone calls, but managing these call are way easy thanks to Fonality.

Convenience and keeping a big office connected!

Pros

I like being able to chat my coworkers with questions. It's easy to put calls on hold and transfer. We have a large office, so being able to communicate without walking to the other end of the building is extremely convenient.

Cons

I think adding emoji characters to the font text would be very helpful and entertaining while communicating with coworkers.

Pros

The reporting can be customized and scheduled and then easily integrated into our firm's software applications to easily rank and review our customer service agents habits to improve performance.

Cons

There is really no downside, if anything, it used to be customer service, but over the last 18 months we have seen a dramatic improvement in that area as well.
